However, this time immediately upon arrival we noticed dog hair all over the furniture. When I called the rental company they asked if we would like to have the cleaners return. We said yes. A sweet lady came out that had limited English. She worked very hard vacuuming, but it was impossible to get it all without a lint roller. I called the company for her, and they said they don't supply the cleaners with lint rollers. They did not work well with us to solve the problem. Their solution was to drop a roller off later after the cleaning lady left. There was also dog hair all over allt he extra blankets. Very disappointing and unprofessional behavior. We will not use this company again. |

We got settled, had dinner, walked the dogs, and returned to another couple waithing to get into the rental. We received an email with all the right info to get into the house - except it wasn't Sunny Pines. It was 'Pines.' So, we re-packed and drove to 'Sunny Pines.' THe first code didn't work. Nor did the second, third, or fourth. They needed to call housekeeping and got the correct code. This was all very frustrating, unprofessional, and inexcuisable. We didn't check the info in the email we received for 'Pines.' We assumed, wrongly, that we'd receive accurate rental info. Property Manager Response: Response from Sunset Vacation Rentals We definitely apologize. Mistakes, unfortunately do happen sometimes and we will do what we can to make this up to you. |

Stayed for 4 days in July, 2012 Home doesn't look that great from the outside and gives you second thoughts about renting it when you first arrive, but house is much better inside and very acceptable. The loft is a little screwy with the stairs, but other bedrooms are OK. House needs more windows to open to have airflow. The deck has no privacy. I would rent here again esopecially when you consider teh rental cost. |

Stayed for 2 days in July, 2010 Compared to some of the other properties we have rented in Manzanita, this house was on the lower end of the scale. BUT, the price was great and it had a fenced yard for our dog. The house is actually rather large with a nice upstairs (warning: stairs to upstairs are extremely steep and shallow!). The quality of the house was just not super nice (old beds/mattresses, etc.). But if you are looking for a house to rent on the cheap for a group or family, this was nice. Definitely not close to the beach compared to other rental properties, but walkable to the stores on the main strip. |

Sunny Pines Vacation Home A guest from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2009 I liked the home but felt there were some safety issues. The stairs leading to the loft were very narrow and steep with no gate at the top. If you had small children or someone with limited mobility, they would not be able to use the loft. The outside deck didn't have a railing on the steps and they were slippery when wet. There was also some confusion on what the renter was expected to be responsible for on the last day. All in all we did have a good experience and I would recommend it to friends who didn't have small children. |

Stayed for 5 days in July, 2009 While this property has a few quirks, it is overall a good property, in a good location, at a very reasonable price. We had a nice 4th of July weekend. It was great to be in town and within a short walk of the beach and shops. The house was well equipped for our stay, and having a fenced-in yard for the dogs was a plus. The house has some odd features like an impossibly steep narrow staircase that would be impossible for anyone lacking cat like coordination and electrical outlets that for no apparent reason are located 15 feet above the floor or in some cases on the high ceiling, completely out of reach of anyone lacking a ladder. Other than the architectural anomalies, I would recommend this home to any largish group looking for a quiet get away in Manzanita. |

Our Weekend Stay at Sunny Pines in Manzanita, OR. Teresa H. from Kelso, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2009 Nice little town and close to the beach. Beautiful view as you are approaching Manzanita. A lot of towels and bed linens were very nice. Very convenient to have all of the household goods available. The garage was very musty/moldy smelling, possibly from the wood. Very comfortable home to spend time with family and friends. My only suggestion would be to make the small, necessary repairs to tie ulp the loose ends, i.e. lock on laundry room door and door leading to garage, fix the shower curtain holder and remove the styrofoam, put a new lock on the back yard gate, and replace or seriously clean the mattresses so there are no blood stains. That was a real negative for our friends when they removed the sheets for cleaning. All three of the beds upstairs had sand in them when they went to bed the first night. They obviously weren't changed. Other than what I've mentioned, it was perfect and would surely stay there again and would recommend it as well. Another suggestion would be to have outside dog dishes since it is a pet friendly home. I hated using one of the bowls from the kitchen, but was our only option. Thank-you so much for a wonderful stay!!!!! |
