A guest from Deer Park, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in August, 2016 This house is very nice and spacious! We loved the large table and comfortable bedrooms. Nicely decorated throughout.
Property Manager Response: Response from Sunset Vacation Rentals We are so happy you enjoyed your stay and hope we can help you plan your next vacation here at the beach.
A guest from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in December, 2015 We had a great time with friends staying at Bella Mar. The house was clean and comfortable for all and a great walk to the beach or town. Our sunny winter days at the coast will be remembered fondly for a long time.
Susan J. from Lake Oswego, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2015 We stayed at Bella Mar during a family reunion, for the grandparents's get away and found the home utterly charming, functional and clean. Since one of our members was 90 years old, the bedroom downstairs came in very handy. The house is very private and the street extremely quiet. We slept with the windows open and didn't hear a thing until the seagulls woke us up in the morning. We loved it!
Rich N. from Olympia, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in August, 2015 I liked it. The house is less than a 10 minute walk to the beach and 20 minute walk to town. Very nice home with all the kitchen equipment you need, a great hot tub and lot's of room and a nice back patio. Nice overstuffed coaches in the living room and very big dining room table.
Tim A. from Richland, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2015 A great time was had by all. The accommodations were fantastic as everyone had their own space for peace and quiet but yet big enough so that all members could gather and interact with one another.
A guest from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2015 This is a lovely house to stay in to make real connections with your friends or family. There is a big kitchen- totally stocked, great dinner table, and living room all set for people to spend some real time with each other. The beach is a 10 min walk- fairly easy to get to, and the town is 10 minutes away as well so you aren't bothered by a lot of tourists.
Colin H. from Bellevue, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in April, 2015 We had a great time. The house had everything we needed to make it a great stay. It was two blocks from the beach- easy enough for our 6 and 4 year olds to walk. I'd recommend it if you intend on spending your time indoors or away from the house. The exterior of the home leaves a little to be desired as the back yard is shaded, paved and only worth using for being in the hot tub. The front is a dirt road and the sides are immediately next door to another home while the other side is adjacent to a busy arterial.
A guest from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in February, 2015 This is a great house in Manzanita. The house sleeps 10 people in 3 queen beds, 1 full, and 2 twins. The beds aren't all the most comfortable but they are acceptable. The hot tub is amazing and quite large. Everything else was as expected... enough kitchen amenities, towels, etc. Lots of Scrabble sets and several puzzles available for game folks, and a couple of girly kites you can take out to the beach. The only thing I don't like about this place is the stone tile flooring. Because there are so many crevices, it hides lots of sand and grit which sticks to feet when you walk around barefoot (we just wore socks and problem solved). We really enjoy this place though, so much so we've stayed there twice.
Kaaren B. from Vancouver, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in December, 2014 A wonderful time in a beautiful home. The house was clean and kitchen was very well equipped for our annual NYE Cassoulet dinner. Our only issue was not being able to get a fire in the fireplace to keep going.
Jessica S. from Leavenworth, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in December, 2014 I booked the Bella Mar needed a good sized home for my family Holiday gathering, It was the perfect fit! The kitchen was well stocked (I read the list of what they provided so I knew what I needed to bring) and the dining room table was so large it was just right for our large family. Location wise it was in a quiet area, and close enough to town for our purposes. The home was in great condition and was very clean, I appreciated the washer and dryer too. I rented from Sunset Vacation Rentals and they were so nice and helpful. We would most certainly rent this home again!
Robin G. from Springfield, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2014 We had a wonderful stay at Bella Mar! It was my Mom's 86th Birthday and 4 sisters and 2 sister-in-laws(and Bentley, my Bernese Mt. dog)treated her to a week end at the coast. We ate, drank, walked on the beach, and even watched a Duck win!!! Bella Mar was beautifully furnished with everything we needed and more!!! I would highly recommend it as, at least a two night, vaca:)
Lisa L. from Milwaukie, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in July, 2014 Pictures don't show improvements which include bigger gardens, and decks! The big dining table is great, lots of rentals say they sleep up to 10-12 people and then they have a table for 6!? We liked the fact that the living and kitchen/dining areas were separate. When you go with a group, sometimes you want some separation for different activities, conversations. Loved the area, short walk to beach, beautiful house. So sad they aren't renewing their contract!!!!
A guest from Tulsa, OK recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2014 This is our second stay at Bella Mar. We came back because we really like this property. Manzanita is much less crowded and touristy than that place up the road. And the IGA is convenient and has more selection than you know where. The beach is only a short walk, but that keeps the wind to a minimum at the house. The only things we disliked were the "queen" bed in the middle bedroom (it was a futon) and the bare floors that make every sound carry throughout the house. The hot tub was a delight at the end of the day. The kitchen was well supplied with dishes, glasses, a coffee maker, pot, pans and lots of seating around the table. We cooked in most nights. The laundry was used every day.Great value for a family vacation away from July in Oklahoma.
Barbara D. from Reno, NV recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in November, 2013 worked well for our family. Our only negative comment is that the kitchen lacked a few items - like potato peeler, adequate serving dishes.
A guest from Tigard, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in November, 2013 The property was just at the edge of town and had a quick walk to the beach. You could also walk to town in about 20 min. The house had a lot of character and the hot tub was a bonus. There were a few issues with the house in that is looks like the foundation settled and has caused the doors and floors to not be square, so a few doors wouldn't shut. Also, there looks like there is moisture issue in the upstairs bathrooms with mold on the windows/ceiling. Other than that, the company was great to work with, we had an awesome stay. The house was supplied with all our household needs, the fireplace added an extra touch, and we got a great deal!
Don S. from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2013 Family and friends spent a great weekend in Manzanita at Bella Mar. The home is on a quiet street just a couple of blocks from the ocean. We had 8 people and a dog, and there was plenty of space for everyone. We liked the large kitchen table and the living room with the cozy fireplace for gathering together. The bedrooms were all comfortable and were outfitted with queen or king sized beds which was important to us when booking as we had four couples. The management company was quick to respond to my reservation inquiry when I was looking for a home. I would highly recommend this home.
Joan C. from Brentwood, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2013 We had a very nice vacation at Bella Mar. The only negative comments we had were the kitchen chairs being too hard to slide on the tile floor and the watered down soap in the bathrooms.
Mary S. from Carmel, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2013 We were impressed with the Internet pictures of Bella Mar but really they didn't do it justice. It was such a beautiful home, quite spacious for three families and so comfortably furnished! The kitchen was well equipped and convenient. We enjoyed the hot tub and the little ones also played in the natural sand by the house when we weren't at the beach, hiking or climbing mountains.
Beth H. from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2013 Went to Manzanita with some girlfriends for a ladies weekend and had a great time in this house. Great beds, big kitchen and living room and a beautiful backyard with a great hot tub. We all said that we would be renting it again for sure.
Vickie S. from Newberg, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2013 We had a great time at this house, very accommadating. Only dissatisfaction were the kitchen table chairs were hard to move on the tile floor. Getting out from under the table caused a great deal of noise and we had babies sleeping. Also, one of the bedrooms had a futon instead of a bed and it was very hard. Didn't sleep well. Other than that we loved the home. Location was great-just a few blocks from the beach!
Sue S. from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2013 What a great house! The pictures don't do it justice on the website. Very nicely appointed and great amenities with hot tub and a fully equipped kitchen. Plenty of room for everyone and comfortable space to relax with just a short walk to a very nice and quiet beach. We'd definitely stay here again.
A guest from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2013 We really enjoyed Bella Mar. Perfect for our large party. The house is lovely and has a great back yard space equipped with BBQ and hot tub. We will definitely be coming back!
A guest from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2013 We rented the Bella Mar for a birthday weekend at the coast and everyone had the best time. The house was located close to the beach, to town, was very clean and comfortable, and had ever amenity we could ask for (except filters for the coffee pot, but there was also a french press, so honestly, not a complaint!)I would go back in a heartbeat. And honestly, hope to do so soon!
Leslee V. from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in March, 2013 We were a multi-generational group age 16-91! the layout of the house as well as the individual heating units made it easy to keep everyone happy.
Michele F. from Milwaukie, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in February, 2013 We had a great time! the house was very spacious and we loved the fact that the property was pet friendly. Everyone had their own room but we spent most of our time in the downstairs area with a double sided fireplace that faced both the living room and the dining room. The kitchen was very well stocked with every device you could want. We loved the hot tub where we soaked into the night both days. I would highly recommend Bella Mar for a wonderful getaway.
A guest from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in February, 2013 Had a great time with some girlfriends, working on creative projects for the weekend. Hot tub was awesome, very comfortable all around, cozy interior nicely decorated. We would definitely return!
A guest from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in December, 2012 Had a company reteat at this house and it was perfect! Lots of beds for the whole staff, lots of space to move around. Just enough room to fit 7 in front of the tv to watch a few DVDs. House was nice and clean, except floors were sandy when we got there. (I can imagine it's hard to keep sand off floors at the beach, though.) Kitchen was well-stocked with utensils, pots, etc.
Kathleen R. from Mercer Island, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2012 I rented Bella Mar for a girls weekend retreat and it was perfect! We enjoyed all of the amenities including the fireplace, the hot tub, and the ;arge kitchen table was a wonderful gathering place for some great food. wine, and girl talk. Four bedrooms and two and a half baths made our stay so comfortable. The beach was beautiful--uncrowded and clean! It couldn't have been a better experience.
A guest from Seattle, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in August, 2012 Great stay - very relaxing Nice home with a lot of light and a great layout for a family. Wish we knew this was adjacent to a road but it's not very busy and the home is a short walk to the beach and has a great hot tub for colder days!
A guest from Corvallis, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2012 We enjoyed our short stay at Bella Mar very much. The home exceeded our expectations except for the nearness to a road on one side but turned out not to have much traffic) and the poor condition of the road leading up to the home. Completely happy with the home in every regard except for the heaviness of the dining room chairs and the difficulty in moving them prior to or after sitting down. I recall other comments to this regard in reviews about the house. Would recommend some gliders under the legs of the chairs. Need better shades in several of the windows instead of the rolling blinds. All in all we were extremely happy with the rental. The home was beautiful, nicely decorated and had character. There were plenty of towels and blankets and everything else we needed.
A guest from Chico, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2012 We found the rental as described. We had rented on the basis of the number of bedrooms and beds and over the course of 5 days filled them all. The house served our needs well with 6 adults and 4 little ones and 1 teen. It is very comfortably furnished and the kitchen is well supplied with cooking and eating utensils. A fenced back yard would have been nice but the 4 year old boys loved "Black Hill" and the sand in the front yard. We would stay here again.
A guest from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2012 We loved the Bella Mar! It was super clean and had everything we could imagine in the kitchen. The only thing lacking was perhaps some aluminum foil and Saran wrap to have on hand, and maybe some gliders on the bottoms of the kitchen chairs. It was great to be able to walk to the beach so easily, and our kids loved being right across the street from the bike path to Nehalem Bay State Park. All the bedrooms were comfortable, lots of places to curl up and read, and we enjoyed the hot tub, too! Thank you for a fabulous stay!
Kelly F. from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2012 We loved the home. Mom is in a wheelchair so nothing for her to look at which is the only thing that would keep us from going back. have already recommened the home to a friend!
Shinon D. from Vancouver, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2012 overall a great time. The only concern was the stove ha 3 0f 4 burners out upon arrival. maintanace person came out same day to repair. but by end of stay not all burners were working. posed an inconvience with large size party
Todd A. from Brentwood, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2012 We had a wonderful time. Weather was nice so not sure how well it would've faired with inclement weather. A little farther from the beach than I had hoped and the inability to have a natural wood fire anywhere was a disappointment. Still very nice home and easily accommodated 6 adults and 3 kids and one dog. Pretty minor complaints. Overall a great time.
Erin F. from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2012 This house was by far the nicest beach house we have rented and we've rented at least 20 over the years up and down the Oregon Coast. It had everything we needed including good kitchen knives, appliances and cleaning supplies, very comfortable beds, plenty of towels and lots of places to sit, get some quiet, or hang out with others. The hot tub was a real bonus too!
Diane C. from Tigard, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2012 we have stayed at this home several times; it's perfect. The first night we found that the coffee maker wasn't working and left a message with the property management company. first thing the following morning they brought over a new coffee maker. Great service.
Terri P. from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2012 We came here for a family weekend getaway. It was very spacious - plenty of room for a 4 yr old, grandmother, and 2 parents. We enjoyed the fireplace and hot tub and were able to walk to the beach. We'll definitely return!
Micki S. from Lake Stevens, Washington recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2012 Our family really enjoyed our time at Bella Mar. Everything was neat and in order. The home was very comfortable, and we spent many hours together in the kitchen. The dining room was the gathering place, and it felt like home. Easy access to the beach, and the perfect location to run up to Seaside, Cannon Beach and then Tillamook, you have to go to the cheese factory when your that close. We will stay at Bella Mar again in the future.
Christina M. from Camas, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2012 This is our second time renting this property. Again, we had a great stay: comfortable, lots of room to spread out....Perfect for us to get together with our four grown children for a weekend!
Katy S. from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in March, 2012 We spent a family weekend in Manzanita and this was the perfect house for us. The house was wonderfully decorated and very comfortable. We will definitely go back!
Trish K. from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2012 We had a fabulous weekend at bella mar with some friends! Great location close to the beach and about a 15-20 minute walk to shops in manzanita. The hot tub was a great way to unwind, and the house is beautifully set up for large groups, so we were able to all eat dinner and play games, watch movies together. Would definitely reccommend
Jedediah G. from Aloha, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2011 Clean, spacious, pretty and comfortable. Missing a few useful kitchen items but that's just nitpicking. Love this place!
A guest from Bend, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in December, 2011 We were so pleased with this home. The high ceilings, yellow walls, colorful artwork, hot tub, and double sided fireplace made this a welcoming retreat from the winter weather.
Elizabeth L. from Richland, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in December, 2011 Had a great time in the Bella Mar. We had family come from Arizona to join us on the coast. The Bella Mar had everything we needed, was walking distance to groceries and the beach. Really enjoyned Manzanita, it is a hidden treasure on the Oregon Coast
A guest from Bend, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2011 We were impressed with what a lovely, spacious home this was. Three generations, plus 2 dogs enjoyed being able to spread out on a rainy afternoon with a quiet corner to read, a large table for games and the game playing in the other room. Close to beach, lovely wooded walks in the state park--we'd enjoy returning with better weather next time.
Beth B. from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2011 Loved the house, great experience!! Toilet overflow issue was solved quickly, but the house could use some cleaning solution in case that happens again. (Ew). Thanks!
A guest from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2011 A great house with everything you could ask for. The location is not ideal, but it's less than a mile to downtown, and close to the beach. We had a good time,
A guest from Portland, OR does not recommend this property. Stayed for 6 days in August, 2011 Bella Mar is a lovely house that was remodeled in a very professional manner. It has lovely bedroom facilities and the living areas and kitchen are excellent. However, it is on a gravel street that kicks up a lot of dust and is farther from the beach than we were led to believe. It is alos 1.2 miles to the Manzanita town shopping area.
Katie B. from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2011 Every year my girlfriends and I head out to the coast to spend a weekend together surfing. This year's property was fantastic, and we had one of the best weekends we've ever had.
Barbara B. from Fair Oaks, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2011 The property was great for our family needs. Our only criticisms were a need for an outside table, which magically appeared on our last day; A gas BBQ would have been a little more convenient; a few light bulbs in the kitchen were out. The rough stone floor in the eating area is a very bad match with the heavy chairs! The location was awesome and the complete kitchen was grand.
Property Manager Response: Response from Sunset Vacation Rentals Thank you for the feedback. The owner is working on putting a gas BBQ at the house.
A guest from Camas, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2011 We had a wonderful 3 day stay. It was the perfect house for us: lots of space/privacy, well equipped and very comfortable. The location was great: quiet, nice stroll to the beach and not far from hiking in the state park.
A guest from Lynnwood, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in March, 2011 Bella Mar was perfect in every way. We can't wait to come back and stay longer. it is a very nicely maintained, new home.
Lisa G. from Seattle, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in December, 2010 This was a wonderful location for our family reunion. Beautiful home, comfortable beds, nice lay-out, well-equipped kitchen, cozy and roomy too. Loved the hot-tub, even if a little close to the road. The beach is easily accessible and Manzanita is charming as ever.
John M. from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2010 This house and property is ideal for a large family or two-three small ones. It's three blocks from a great beach and well situated to all the attractions in Manzanita. The owners have made a great investment in the kitchen, beds, linens and general accoutrements of hospitality; this is a wonderfully comfortable property.
Property was great. Very well stocked and a lovely home. We could have used a regular size broom to sweep floor daily as well
A guest from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2010 under the bedspread (previous renters probably didn't wash sheets). Overall we thought it was a great house and would stay there again and recommend it to friends.
A guest from Austin, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2010 My family of 4 and another couple with their baby stayed at Bella Mar for 5 days. The place was spacious and had everything we needed. We were looking for something pretty specific and it was hard to find. Large house, hot tub, close to beach. This home was close enough to the beach and the space was great. The hot tub was a great way to end the day. The only complaint I have is the distance from the little town. I didn't feel comfortable walking with my toddler and infant on the windy road w/o sidewalks. We had to drive a few times, but it all worked out nicely.
A guest from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2010 There are coyotes in the area which would have been helpful to know beforehand. One morning we were out with our small dog off leash as a coyote walked down the road directly in front of the house. We were able to avoid a problem but had no idea these animals were prevalent. Had we known going in, we would not have allowed our pet out without a leash.
Jenni A. from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2010 Loved this place. Large and roomy, and blocks from the beach. Hot tub isn't private, and there's no fence to separate you from Nehalem Rd., which means that dogs need to be watched/leashed if left outside to enjoy the day. (My guy just likes laying in the sun, but I couldn't trust him out there alone, and his leash is only 6 ft long, which doesn't give a lot of room to move, so I had to attend to him a lot.)
A guest from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2010 This was a great home with lots of space for two families with young children. The kids loved all the different rooms and spaces and we made an adventure out of the 2-block walk to the beach. It would be nice if you could stock houses with a few more basics...inexpensive cooking oil, for example, would be nice. A blender would be a welcomed addition as would some throw blankets for the living room. We'll likely stay there again!
A guest from Seattle, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2010 House is well set up for a large group reunion or family gathering. Extra large dining room accomodates 8 people at table, with window bench for others. Comforatble living room with cable TV great for watching games. Free wi-fi worked great. Hot tub was on and hot when we got there-nice touch! Everyone enjoyed the house.
Great family vacation home -- We had a fun time and enjoyed the house and the location. We had stayed here previously so we knew
John V. from Lake Oswego, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2010 The spring weather turned into a winter storm for most of the week with plenty of rain, hail (snow in the mountains) and 80 mph winds that created a beachcomber?s delight at LOW TIDE with a selection of Japanese glass floats, bottles and driftwood. There?s a good selection of books and jigsaw puzzles to help pass the time and relax. Our one recommendation is that the owners provide their renters with a more contemporary, larger, flat screen TV for those days when stormy weather traps you at home.
A guest from Tualatin, Oregon does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2010 We actually liked the property pretty well but did experience some of the concerns noted by others such as the window blinds not working well, hot tub not very private, almost public. These fixes would be easy and inexpensive but don't seem to be of concern to the owner as this has been mentioned by other renter. It was kind of funny that a big deal was made about not burning wood in the fireplace and that a Duraflame log was provided, but none actually was. The home is a bit noisy when anyone moves around. The cleaning fee seems kind of high when you consider the renter is supposed to empty all the garbage, strip all linens and start the laundry as well as wash all the dishes. Add this to the added fees on each end for early in/late out which just ends up getting you an actual full day of rental is a bit disappointing. All in all a nice place but ended up feeling like the "fees" were high compared to other rentals in the area and the renter ends up doing more work than other rentals we have had. Won't say we would never stay there again, but we won't the next time with the other options in the area.
A guest from Gladstone, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2010 myself and 7 friends decided to get away for the weekend, and this was the perfect house to do it. There were enough beds (that were comfortable) and the dining room table actually seated 8 people. The kitchen and dining room are open which makes it nice when cooking, and the kitchen is well stocked. The hot tub was great also. It is a short 2 block walk to the beach.
Bella Mar was a pleasant home to spend our holiday season in.
A guest from Vancouver, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in December, 2009 Here are a few thoughts that would have made our stay even nicer: GARBAGE, the garbage can was full upon arrival and the last thing we are thinking of during our honeymoon is to take out the garbage--someone else's garbage. As a result, there was no where for us to put our accumulated garbage at the end of our stay. HOT TUB, First, the property owner should put up some sort of screen (fence, vegetation) to provide a basic level privacy. Second, it would also be helpful to install some hooks out by the tub for storing robes and towels. FIRE PLACE, please update your web site to state that only presto-logs are to be burned in the fireplace (luckily, that is what we brought with us). TV, update the web site to state that there is a DVD player as well as a VCR player with the house. The web site said only VCR, yet we had to disconnect the DVD to play the VCR tapes we brought with us. BLINDS, the blinds throughout the house do not work very well.
Sally K. from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2009 We've staying in many places in Manzanita over the years, and this place takes the cake. The perfect setting for our family reunion. The table was big enough to fit everyone - with a fire burning in the fireplace in the back ground. Well stocked kitchen, nice hot tub, a wonderfully decorated home, nice floor plan for a group. We'll be back!
Cherie C. from Redmond, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2009 It was a great house for our family one exception, we really needed a baby gate for the stairs as you know babies love to climb and scare ya! she kept us on our toes! Now we need a vacation!
Allison F. from Moscow, ID recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2009 We enjoyed our stay at Bella Mar. What a great house that had plenty of room for everyone. We had never visited Manzanita and we will definitely be back. What a great town! My only slight criticism would be that I thought it would be a shorter walk to the beach. The house sits 2 fairly long blocks from the beach, but once you get there it is awesome. Just spectacular... And the house's blinds need to be replaced. They kept falling off the windows, literally, nearly hitting you every time. But if you can figure them out and plan for the couple block walk, the place is for you. THE HOT TUB WAS AWESOME!
A guest from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2009 We loved the Bella Mar. The house is really bright, beautiful, and nicely furnished (unlike many other homes we've stayed at on the coast, which can tend to be a bit grubby.) The rooms are all lovely, and the hot tub is fabulous. The house is great for toddlers, too. It is very close to the beach, but probably too far from the town center for most to walk. (So be prepared to drive into town for groceries if you need them.) Thumbs up. We'll be back!
A guest from Issaquah, WA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 5 days in May, 2009 Beautiful home with good proximity to the beach. However, the location gives very little privacy and the hot tub is completely exposed to the street. In addition the poor quality window coverings don't offer much help to gain some private space.
Kelly F. from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2009 Clean, much larger than in photos, very comfortable beds. Convenient to Nehalem Bay State Park, beach and downtown area.
A guest from Estacada, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2009 We really enjoyed our stay at this great house! The only tiny constructive comment I have is there was no juice pitcher and very few small and medium serving bowls. These were minor inconveniences, and we got along without them.
Carolyn F. from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in February, 2009 This house has such a nice feel. I was particularly fond of the reading room. Felt like a European library! Loved it-thanks for the terrific hospitality :)
Michael W. from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in November, 2008 A beautiful house for our stay on the coast. Plenty of space, great kitchen, lovely living room. We had a great Thanksgiving weekend.
Elizabeth W. from Portland, OR does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2008 I really enjoyed the house and Manzanita. However, the management company was VERY unhelfpul. We were locked out on our first evening and no one from the rental company responded to our desperate phone calls for help, even though their paperwork stated that someone would be available by phone until 10 pm. No one answered the main line or 800 number, no one responded to our voice mails. Luckily, we know the president of the Manzanita city council, and she came to retrieve us from the cold and helped us to locate someone who could let us in (but ridiculously, had to involved the local police to locate someone). And even after all of that trouble, we were treated very rudely by the staff of the management company. they were unapologetic and unhelpful, and even took the time to call us later that evening (after waiting for them to call us for TWO hours in the cold) to rudely inform us that they would not provide fire wood.I would love to stay in that house again, but I would never want to rent from Sunset Rentals again, given the way we were treated by staff.Property condition was great except the buckle on the strap holding the hot tub down was rusted and hard to operate.
A guest from Bellevue, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2008 The Bella Mar was a great house--very comfortable for our group of 10 (kids and adults) with nicer furnishings, linens, etc. than one usually finds in a rental home, a great hot tub and cozy fireplace, and just a short walk to our favorite Oregon beach. Thank you Sunset Vacation Rentals!
