We love the deck overlooking the Ocean- it's what keeps us coming back. We also really like how quiet the street is. There is a fenced backyard which is perfect for dog or kids.Although you can walk down the sand dune to the beach, you have to be in very good shape to do it, especially since there is a walk up the sand dunes to get back. Personally i like the dune walk, but its too challenging for my wife, so we drive down to the beach.If you are looking for a posh house with lots of amenities, this is not the place for you- furniture and appliances are older, television is small and remote has noy worked eith time we have been there and kitchen supplies are sparse and of low quality.All that aside, when my wife And I come to Manzanita by ourselves this is usually our first choice to stay as we love the sitting on the deck and it's an extremely affordable place. |

Clean rental with limited amenities and beach access A guest from Boise, ID does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in September, 2012 Television substandard. Cable inadequate. Great beds. Ocean view very limited. Rental could have equipped the kitchen better. If you plan on cooking you should check out the kitchen first as many kitchen standards are missing. Light bulbs were out and not replaced upon request. Toaster was broken but was easily replaced when we went to the rental office to pick it up. Beach access was difficult at best. If you we're unable to walk far or unable to navigate steep slopes of deep sand you had to drive to the beach. |

It's comfortable and has most everything we needed. The kitchen and bathroom are a bit dated and could use updating. The kitchen and dining area could really use blinds and curtains for privacy. When you walk in the door, it smells like mold or must. We think this is coming from the downstairs, which is locked and is due to water. It didn't bother us upstairs, but would be nice if it wasn't the first thing to greet you. The back yard is not good for much other than letting hte dog out. Overall, we love the place. We have stayed there three times and would stay again, but it sure would be a delight to see a few upgrades next time. (PS, we live on Bainbridge Island, not Isaland) |

7 Days Near Heaven A guest from Kent, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2012 We arrived Saturday to find that the key was where it was supposed to be; a huge relief. As we stepped out onto the deck, we were reminded why we chose this property. The only drawback was that the "sunroom" which my 31 year old son used for his bedroom, only had access to the bathroom via his 27 year old sister's room. But we made it work! Our dog loved being on vacation with us, but wished the back yard was mowed. Otherwise we really enjoyed our time at Almost Heaven this week. Quiet, scenic, and comfortable. What more could we ask? |

We love the deck with its view of the ocean. The bright, airy living space is comfortable and perfectly accomodates 3 or 4 guests. We use the heat stove on really chilly evenings and it's very cosy. Recently, the owners provided new bedspreads, pillows, and sheets for their beds, which we really appreciated. While the house is not new, it's location, view, and simple comforts suit us perfectly. We hope to return next summer! |

We just walked across the street and down a (rather steep) hill to get to the beach. We could see the water from the spacious deck, and the neighborhood was so lovely. Stayed for 4 days in December, 2011 Beautiful location, quiet, serene, far enough from town, yet close enough to beach. My only suggestion is that the property would really benefit from a dew minor upgrades - most important, a blind or curtain on the sliding glass door. Next, replace the refrigerator, or at least paint the front. It's looking more shabby since we stayed here last summer. But the place is clean with comfortable bed and good living room furniture. Bathroom is dated and would also benefit hugely from a minor upgrade. |

The property was adequate and certainly met our needs. We found it very comfortable, with everything we needed. My only suggestion - and I do realize it's a beach house and probably not worth the investment to the owners - would be a cosmetic update to the bathroom and kitchen, bathroom particularly. The rest was great! Loved the large deck with the view of the ocean and the wonderful path to the beach. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend this property. This is our fourth place to stay in Manzanita and is now our favorite - despite the older, 70s bathroom and kitchen! |

Stayed for 6 days in July, 2011 We love the peace and quiet of Almost Heaven, located in a pretty area near the beach and within a short walk of downtown Manzanita. The property is older and not in perfect condition, but is clean, attractive, and very comfortable. Overlooking the ocean from a distance, the deck is great for morning coffee and evenings with friends. On evenings when it's really chilly, the heatstove is much appreciated. The house is supplied with all neccessary amenities. We love it! |

I do think the bed linens and towels need to be updated. This would be a fairly cheap investment. One of the washcloths looked as though it had been used for washing the floor! Stayed for 4 days in July, 2010 We loved the ocean view fom the deck and dining room, and the living room view was of the peaceful forest.The property was sufficient for a family plus or two couples and families. It was too large of space for two. The property was outdated in decor which we don't mind but there were dirty stains on carpet in living room, no coffee maker, we called the management company that night & were told one was to delievered, we picked one up at the office the next day. The gas grill non-functioning,dissappointing when it takes 40 minutes to cook 3 hambergers. The backyard overgrown w/ weeds. We were surprised when we took the plastic bath mat from under the bathroom sink to put in the tub, it was full of water & so was our stuff. |

The house's layout is perfect for us, a family of 3 with occasional visits from my sister. There is plenty of room for everyone. Another bathroom would make it perfect but it's not essential in a beach house. The family/living/dining room area with beach-view deck is what makes this house special. We love it! |

In the past we stayed at the Hallmark Inn, at Cannon Beach. We liked the lower price and the location of the house. The town was really cute. We loved sitting on the deck and looking at the partial ocean view that we had. The living room was nice with the large windows. It was very close to both Cannon Beach and Sea Side Beach. The bathroom was old and the floor was a little dirty. When we stripped the sheets on the back bedroom bed it had sand on the plastic cover over the mattress. It would have been nice to have the t.v. and bathroom updated. Other then that - it was nice. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2009 We took our grandchildren and adult child with us to Manzanita for our first beach vacation in years. The house was better and more spacious than the photos had suggested. The Sunset Rental staff was wonderful--as I quickly learned when I inadvertently locked us out of the house! She arrived in just a few minutes to rescue us. The only drawbacks were having just one bathroom (with a teenage girl!) and the steep walk to the beach, as I had a broken bone in my foot. We easily resolved that by driving down. We enjoyed the house's deck with great view, and the kitchen had everything we needed. Plenty of room for us all. |

Stayed for 7 days in July, 2009 The house was not in the most ideal location for us as we love to walk everywhere when we are there. It was a long walk to the store and to downtown, and the sandy hill to the beach was a killer to walk up---going down was not bad except when wearing tennis shoes--and the sand got really hot during those hotter afternoons. A better beach access would be nice.The home was in pretty good shape. We thoroughly enjoyed the deck!! That was our favorite place to be---needed a table out there, though. The bathroom and kitchen areas were the most disappointing. The kitchen had most of the "basics" for cooking, but for people like us that like to cook most of our meals, we found it a little sparse. |

The bathroom is a bit tired and thus seems a little grubby, but could easily be spiffed up with a new toilet (slow to flush) and sink/cabinet. Wonderful view, comfortable furnishings! We love relaxing on the deck and looking at the ocean. Kitchen has everything we needed. Washer and dryer are newer and work great (neccessary at the beach!) A heat stove is great for chilly evenings. We plan to return next year! |

It does need a new dishwasher and vacume cleaner. I couldn't get the vacume to work at all. Maybe I wasn't operating it properly.We liked Seabreeze much better with the deck overlooking the sea. The appliances were newer and better functioning. To be honest Seabreeze was cleaner when we left than when we arrived. There was a lot of hair all over the floors. The location could not have been more perfect. The neighborhood was quiet, the ocean was within walking distance, and the accommodations gave us the sense that we were visiting out second home. I have rarely had a more relaxing and restoring vacation. I only wish Montana were a bit closer to the Oregon coast. We definitely plan to repeat. |
