Stayed for 2 days in September, 2016 I already gave a review , you thanked me for it , I mentioned it was not a wheelchair assessable cabin , no way for a wheel to get in the bathroom , would need a small to get up step to get inside . The cabin is rustic , clean and very pleasant surrounded by wooded area , nice screen porch to sit on .
A guest from Boise, ID recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2016 I can not begin to tell you how perfect our stay was in the Totorica Cabin in McCall. The location was perfect. Minutes from downtown McCall yet in an isolated, private setting that made you feel like you were in the wilderness. The living area was open and we easily were able to enjoy ourselves inside the relaxing, comfortably furnished cabin and Loved the screened in back porch too! We utilized the bbq (don't forget to buy charcoal!). Upstairs the dormlike bedrooms were perfect for the our twenty year old kids! Kitchen was well stocked with all utensils and dishes. Completely loved the large dining room table to hang out around to talk, play games and eat. Parking was wonderful. Two tricky things were that the drive is so private that coming in the dark is difficult. It is not labeled and since the house sits back from the road I questioned that I was on the right driveway until I reached the cabin. Also, I would recommend that the keys to the home should be labeled. Some of the keys didn't work which made me panic that we had the wrong keys! Yikes!!!! Overall, I will recommend this cabin to anyone staying in the McCall area. I will definitely be back!!!!!
Log cabin in a wooded area was a perfect setting!!
Reviewed by: Carol M. recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2016 The cabin was perfect!! It had everything we needed!! It was comfortable and peaceful! Too bad we didn't see any wildlife! There was plenty of snow which we were excited! Plenty of parking spaces especially when we had to turn around in the snow. We didn't have a few things in the kitchen, so we added coffee filters, scrubbers, and foil for cooking. The cabin needs newspapers for starting a fire and baggies for garbage. There was plenty of spaces for everyone. The dining table was wonderful!! We would come back again! Thank you for letting us stay!!
Ron H. from Sparks, NV recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2015 The cabin was clean and comfortable. We loved all the open space and excellent view. The back porch is larger than the photos indicate and we spent a lot of time out there. Check in was quick and easy. It is a little out of town but an easy 10 minute drive to downtown and well worth the serenity. Wifi and more space for food storage would be nice additions.
Reviewed by: Mark D. recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2014 We liked the cabin very much. It is in a great location that feels remote but is really fairly close to town. Some things to know: The water is safe to drink but smells a bit like sulfur, so you might want to bring water. The upstairs is a bit funky to get to, a steep staircase, so not appropriate for older folks. The cabin has a wonderful screen porch so you can be outside and not buggy.
A guest from Brooklyn, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2014 We had a lovely stay at the Totorica Cabin. The place was clean and welcoming. The kitchen was well stocked for making meals and the screened in porch was a beautiful spot to have dinner overlooking a view of the mountains. We enjoyed mornings on the porch soaking in the sunlight, drinking coffee and reading. It was also nice to have a grill with charcoal and lighter fluid on hand. The location itself felt very private, a nice, tucked away spot among the wildflowers and trees. The management was very accommodating to our early arrival.
Gail W. from Boise, Idaho recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2014 We loved the cabin. All the blankets and extra bedding was great. Kitchen nicely stocked. Location was great. Enjoyed the peace and quiet. Stairs were extremely steep and a challenge.
Lori K. from Clear Lake, MN recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in December, 2013 we had a very nice time...the property was in good condition, clean and over all very satisfied. my only suggestions would be that some good cookware be placed in the facility. There was 1 large pan that didn't burn fool...all fry pans were very difficult to cook in. i would suggest at least 1 good teflon pan to cook eggs in. Thanks for the stay! (a few games in the cabin would be nice too)
Property Manager Response: Response from Accommodation Services, LLC We will make sure to get some new pans in the home.
Joe B. from Las Cruces, NM recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2012 keys to front door leave a lot to be desired. TV did not work as we had to straighten the J pin connector. vacuum cleaner was inop. other than that the cabin was really well built and provided a 270 degree view. smoke alarm works quite well as we BBQ'd on the front porch and the smoke set it off. i would rent this cabin again.
Courtney T. from Star, ID does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2010 The cabin was cute and rustic. We loved the location. I was very dissappointed with the kitchen supplies. The cooking supplies were very old/disgusting. The one skillet in the kitched was impossible to cook a good meal in. the pan was very uneven and everything stuck to it. The owners need to update all the kitchen supplies... pots, pans, coffee pot, mugs.. we were forced to eat out the rest of our trip. It just took too much time to make anything and clean up. The stair case is another issue... very dangerous!! We have had the opportunity to stay at many rental cabins in the McCall area(in all price ranges) and this cabin was nothing like other places we have stayed at. The kitchen was terrible!!
Property Manager Response: Response from Accommodation Services, LLC We will put in a request to the owner to update the unusable kitchen items.
Scott M. from Moscow, ID recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2008 There was mouse **** in all the kitched cupboards and drawers. The housekeeper was called in to clean it up and did a mediocre job.
Jolene V. from Emmett, ID recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2008 What a GREAT cabin (clean and well-arranged) and a WONDERFUL secluded location(we saw deer in the driveway)!! The Tortorica is a very nice cabin with an AWESOME view!! We'll book this cabin through Accomodation Services again, that's for sure!! (check the TV and VCR/DVD... they do NOT work together and the TV doesn't have a way to hook up a rented DVD player)
A guest from Boise, ID recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2008 We've stayed in this cabin before and they've done some work updating the furniture and carpet. Place looks nice, and has a little tv with a dvd and vcr in the living room. Has a great cabin feel. On the down side the stairs upstairs are steep and the water has a sulpher smell. But we've stayed here twice so it's not too bad for us.
Alan G. from Idaho Falls, ID recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2008 The only comment that I have is the fact that the second floor stairway is very steep, more like a ladder, and has the potential of causing someone to fall and receive a serious injury. The two hand rails have been attached with blocks that require you to take your hand of the rail while transitioning the very steep steps. Right at the bottom of the step is a door with a window that is the place that someone that is falling would likely place their hand, resulting in a very serious injury. The window should be removed from the door and the hand rail corrected. Good chance for a law suit because the stairs and hand rail are not to code. The reason that I bring this up is the fact that my daughter fell from the stairway and nearly went through the window. Other than that the cabin was great and we enjoyed ourselves. Thanks
A guest from Nampa, ID recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2007 Accomodations are adequate. Carpet was clean and new. The stairs to the second level are quite steep. Neighborhood dogs barked excessively. Remodel of bathroom was not well thoughtout with washing machines and positioning of the door. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and were pleased with the accomodations for a low to moderate priced choice.
