Good location, marginal condition
A guest from Lexington, MA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2016 This was our second visit to Deer Park, and we thoroughly enjoyed the resort, lake, beach, river, and surrounding area. This particular unit was not in good condition, however. There was a pungent smell like old fish permeating the unit when we arrived, especially the entryway. We kept the inner door closed and ran the A/C fans to make the unit itself tolerable. Also the screen door to the deck was off its track. (I fixed that.) Then in the morning we found there was no hot water. Maintenance staff arrived promptly and it was remedied before we returned that day, but one cold shower is one too many on vacation! The last straw was we found an old pair of underwear under one of the beds when we went to leave. This unit needed (still needs) a thorough cleaning!
A guest from Ludlow, MA recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in July, 2016 We have stayed at Deer Park Resort many times and love the resort, the location and the amenities. In the past, we've rented directly from private owners, or from Deer Park.. This was the first time that we have rented through Loon Reservation Service. This was also the first time that we were not impressed with the condo unit, lack of supplies and cleanliness. There was feces on the toilet seat the day we arrived, not enough toilet paper, trash bags, basic kitchen supplies. I understand that we must supply most of our own items, but on the past, basic necessities were supplied by the owner. I will continue to stay at Deer Park Resort, but will avoid renting through Loon Reservation in the future.
Property Manager Response: Response from Loon Reservation Service We're sorry that you did not enjoy your stay as much as you would have liked. Certainly the housekeeping should not have been as described, and we will speak with the cleaners. We do advertise the homes as self catering, but each homeowner may provide additional items. Typically, we provide a roll and partial of various paper products, and a few soaps, etc., enough to get through the first day or two. For most guests this is enough, but with your longer stay, that may not have been the case. Additional supplies are easily purchased at the local grocery store, open 24 hours per day, as well as various convenience stores nearby.
Shawna M. from Cornwall, ON recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2011 The property was lovely and we were very pleased with it. The girls had a lovely time exploring the area and we felt very secure at all times. I would return to this property and will recommend it to others.
A guest from Chester, VT recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2009 The only thing that I would like to comment on is your check-in/check-out times. Because you have check-in at 4 and check-out at 10, we could only really use the facitities for two out of our three night stay. I think you should allow people access to the property earlier in the day or let them check out and still use the pool/lake for the remainder of that day.
A guest from New York, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in December, 2008 Only suggestion would be to supply more towels and washing machine and dish washer soaps. Great utensils and a great toy closet for kids, all with a great view of the river!
Jonathan C. from Middletown, RI recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in August, 2008 What a wonderful, clean, spacious, and well stocked unit. Grounds and clubhouse are very nice, easy access to many area attractions and highway, highly recomended!
