Cozy Log Home on Prestigious Lake Echo in Morin Heights, 60 km. North of Montreal.
Lake Echo is well renowned for its 30 magnificent authentic log homes built around the lake during the late 30s and early 40s. Throughout the years the owners have restored and handcrafted their beautiful log homes with love. Collaboration between local artisans created this uniquely charming pocket of old-time buildings individually distinctive.
While canoeing on the lake you can hardly see most of he homes which were built in harmony with nature. You have the feeling you are on a very remote lake while only one hour north of Montreal.
No public road circles the lake. Private romantic roads lined with trees end in cul-de-sac and lead to the various homes. As a result houses are very private and secluded yet ten minutes away from the charming village of St-Sauveur with its over 60 restaurants and outside cafés .Several well known movie and music stars have enjoyed privacy at Lake Echo.
The house is located in a cul-de-sac approximately one km. from the public road. Our luxury log home is on two floors. The first floor has two guests’ bedrooms, one bathroom with antique bathtub, a modern kitchen, the living and dining rooms with views on the fireplace and lake. The second floor has the master bedroom with fireplace, a bathroom with shower and an office, den. As can be seen on the pictures the use of glass, stone, round beams and stucco help a log home achieve its main purpose- relieve stress.
In summer, when the lake mirrors the surrounding mountains, enjoy a morning swim with the loons or break the silence with the kayak. Take your meals on the porch overlooking the nice flowers visited by the hummingbirds. Have an afternoon nap in your hammock before taking the apero on the wharf and admire the blue heron and king fishers feeding.
In the fall admire the magnificent autumn colors, take your love for a tour of the lake in the rowboat or go biking.
In winter put your snowshoes or your cross-country skis on and explore the lake and trails. Enjoy a magical Christmas in a log house with its beautiful fireplace and majestic fir trees covered with snow. You might also go skating on the lake.
In spring enjoy the warmth of the sun, the return of the birds, watch the ermine go along the shore or go trout fishing right at your door.
