A guest from Orange, TX does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in September, 2015 When we opened the door we were hit with a smoky/stale odor like no one had been there in quite some time. We had to get freshener to help with the smell. The bedspreads were old, there were only two drinking glasses and the skillet looked like someone was hit over the head with it by the looks of the dent in it. The floors were dirty, there were hurricane shutters covering the windows so you couldn't see out unless the door was open. And there was no dishwasher! There were tablets for one under the sink but we looked everywhere and couldn't find one. Lol
Kelli M. from Cameron, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2015 It was very clean and just what we were looking for. I only have two suggestions and I'm not saying this to down the place but only to help. Replace the fold out couch mattress or maybe the support springs underneath the mattress. (Uncomfortable dip when the kids were laying on it) and replace the can opener in the kitchen. Thanks!
Peggy H. from Blue Rapids, KS recommends this property. Stayed for 31 days in January, 2015 Nice quiet place in a great place to be enjoying quiet time very clean and easy excess to anywhere you need to go.
Travis R. from Granbury, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in November, 2014 Only complaint about this property is at night you cannot see the lower flight of stairs at all!!! My wife fell down the stairs and very luckily wasn't injured too bad!! So add a light please before someone does get hurt badly!! Other than that it was a good rental for a family of five.
A guest from Farmers Ranch, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2014 Don't expect to unlock the door to a luxurious residence when you arrive at 310 Leslie Lane. Luxury is not what you will find (there is no dishwasher for example, the bathroom sinks are supported by a pair of adjustable curtain rods, and some of the small appliances like toasters don't work very well or not at all). But it is generally clean, efficient, located a few minutes away from the beach and reasonably priced. If you're looking for a vacation home for a few days with all the essentials and reasonably comfortable, not ideally but at least conveniently located, and without emptying your bank account, this home will do nicely. Washer & dryer, 2 decks (front and back), a carport that can easily provide cover for 3 or 4 cars, and "dog(s) friendly" are a plus. On the down side there was only one queen size bed in one room, the other room being equipped with a bunkbed (full size on the lower level, twin size on top), and a sofa-sleeper in the living room. Not the most modern home, certainly not a mansion, but it was adequate for our needs and left me with more pocket change to spend on the island. I would recommend it to anyone with reasonable expectations and a tight budget.
Matthew B. from San Antonio, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2014 This house was fantastic! It had everything we needed and the location was perfect. Right by the beach, CVS, and IGA grocery store. There was a hose and shower outside to wash off the sand before you came inside was a huge plus. Overall great experience!
A guest from San antonio, Texas recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2014 This was my first experience with Port A Escapes. The rental process was very easy. Everything was completed via email. I do have a few comments. The first being I did take my 3 dogs along and in looking at one of the photos posted there is a fence captured. I learned upon arrival there is no fenced in area for pets. That was a bit of a hassle. Secondly, I must have failed to accurately complete my application and was called promptly after my first night of being at the property and was told "someone saw I had 3 dogs" with me. I felt a bit odd knowing I was being watched. Lastly, at 10:30 am on the Saturday morning I was in the home someone rang the doorbell. Of course my dogs went crazy. I was at the home alone and am always hesitant to open the door for someone I don't know. Well...I didn't have to open it because someone put their key in the door and opened it themselves. She claimed she was with maintenance and wanted to change the air filter. I was shocked that I was called immediately when someone saw I had 3 dogs instead of 1 however, no one bothers to call to tell me someone will be coming in to the home I am renting unannounced.
David J. from Waco, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in July, 2014 My fisrt time to rent after selling my own house there was very nice! The house was large enough to have two couples and grandchildren. This was a very nice house for a rental and I will want to rent it again.
Roger R. from Kendalia, TX does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2014 This location is in need of serious upgrades. Its like walking into the 1970's. The house is an older home and the furniture and amenities are also outdated. The master bedroom bed is very uncomfortable and the bed sheets were dirty. The management company was very nice and accommodating but the owner was not. Don't waste your money on this property.
Rebecca W. from Round Rock, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2014 Very pleased with our overall experience. Larger grill needed and water hose needs to be replaced. Blinds needed attention. One in master bath broke instantly.
Reviewed by: javier w. recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2014 It was an overall great experience. Myself along with some friends shared the house for a weekend and it was perfect. It had everything we needed and more. I have two dogs that came with us and having a house that is pet friendly is great.
darrell p. from boerne, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2014 although the wind was up and the sea weed was on the beach and in the water having a great rental as usual made the difference. their was some light bulbs that needed replaced and a call to the management office was all it took and they were all taken care of, great stay as all ways and we will be back. Ashleigh F. from New Braunfels, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2014 I loved this house, it was open and in a good location. The rental people were so nice! Only issue I had was the pull out mattress was in terrible condition and one of the pillow cases had something brown and gross on it. :/ but I'd still rent this place again!! :)
A guest from New Braunfels, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2013 House is clean; no internet; second bedroom very hot -- had to leave door open at night to remain cool. Dogs allowed but priced too high considering all floors are tile and there is no fenced yard. Location close to 361 and not that close to beach.
A guest from San Antonio, Texas recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2013 No dishwasher or Internet access. Have to drive to the beach from the house. Has Older tv's with few channels. But clean and quiet over all not a bad place to stay, just was expecting a little more.
darrell p. from boerne, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2013 Overall stay was good, rental needs a little TLC, wind sock shreaded, outside lighting didnt work, back stair has lose step, nothing major but TLC needed, we will come down again, this rental is still our favorite in Port A, We had a blast.
A guest from Jonestown, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2013 We really enjoyed our stay at Stilts in Port A this past week! The property was very clean and roomy for our family. The kitchen was well stocked with pans and utensils. It was very reasonably priced and I would recommend to anyone!
Stephanie W. from San Antonio, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2013 Myself, my husband, my son and his two friends enjoyed this cabin for 4 days this week! We rented a golf cart for those days and that made the short trip to the beach so much easier for us. Having their own balcony also made the 18 year olds happy!! I don't know if there is WiFi there or not-weal signal on Iphone, there is no TV in the Master bedroom and no stereo or radio there but it was still great!! The brand new AC had a freon leak but the Owner was on top of it before we even said anything.I will definitely go back!! Already told friends about it!!
Jeffrey M. from Alvarado, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2013 Everything was fairlt clean except for the grills. We spent some time having to clean the grills before we could use them. No internet was inconvienent but didnt realize it wasnt available.
A guest from Cedar Park, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2013 Everything about the house was great except the Sofa bed. I had read the previous reviews about how bad it was and figured people were just high maintainence, but it was horrible. If you need the extra sleeping space, bring an air mattress from home, there's plenty of room for a queen size air bed, save yourself the aches and pains of the sofa bed. Orthewise we loved everything else about the house!!
Nanette M. M. from SA, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2012 The property was in a great location. Nice place to stay for 2 adults w/kids & pets. If you plan on inviting other adults, the second bedroom has a bunk bed. The master bedroom was nice (closet space/drawers), but the bed was hard & the pillows too firm. The second night my husband & I slept in the bunk bed which was very comfortable; Not romantic for our 5th wedding Anniversary, but at least we slept. The ice maker in the freezer did not work.I would suggest an ice machine as an amenity, also a dishwasher. I know other properties offer that. We loved the house, it was clean & convenient. Like the covered patio w/BBQ pit (great in case of was nice to have a washer & dryer,an IRON,plenty bath/kitchen towels, trash bags, kitchen utensils, coffee maker & toaster. The rental staff were great & very helpful. We liked this property, just had a problem with the beds.
Reviewed by: Theresa J. does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2012 The sofa sleeper was extremely uncomfortable! It was literally like sleeping on springs! There were also roaches in the kitchen and one of the bedrooms. Gross!
A guest from San Antonio, Texas recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2012 We very much enjoyed the facility. The beds, furniture, linen, kitchen, and bathrooms were spotless and clean. The washer and dryer was tremendously helpful to us. We can't wait to bring the family back to Port Aransas and stay here again.
John M. from Grand Prarie, TX does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2012 The rental staff were great....very courteous and professional. The outside of the property was clean and maintained. However, the inside was dIsgusting. The floor was dirty, has no grout on the tile except dirt and sand. There were a large amount of cockroaches that came out at night. The bed covers and sheets were stained, worn, and soiled. The only real positive experience to this house was the staff.
A guest from Pflugerville, Texas recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2012 The only problem was that there were no overhead lights in dining area or lving room. I called the Property Mgt. and they were supposed to send a maintenance person, but they never showed up.
Dan T. from Cedar Park, TX does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2012 pros- the outside and parking lot look goodcons- not working distance to the beach- there's no dish washer- no internet- old cheap tv
Reviewed by: A guest recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2012 This vacation home is a great place to spend a few days in close proximity to the beach. The layout is nice but bring all food products you require since the kitchen is missing some essentials (salt, pepper, etc). Also, there is a minor roach infestation if that is something that concerns you. The house provides shade underneath for your cars and has a picnic table to eat on right next to the grill.
Joe K. from Austin, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2012 The home was as described and very pleasant. We had a problem getting hot water to one of the bathrooms. Called the Property Management company and they were very helpful. We would recommend this home to others and may return back ourselves.
Reviewed by: A guest recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in March, 2012 It was a really good experience. The floors were a little dirty though, I guess from all the sand, but my friends and I had a really good time. It's an easy walk to the beach.
A guest from Prophetstown, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 60 days in January, 2012 Property is clean and spacious. Having a laundry on site is convenient. It is a great place to stay in beautiful Port Aransas.
Robert C. from Houston, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2011 We made most are meals there. Kitchen can be more useful. TV can have more channels. But all in all, I would give it a 6.
A guest from Choctaw, OK recommends this property. Stayed for 30 days in September, 2011 We rented the property for a month and were very happy with the property, the neighborhood and Port Aransas in general. Would highly recommend this property management company to anyone who is looking to have a great time on vacation.
Reviewed by: David D. recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2011 The wasps nests that were everywhere throughout the outside of the property and the roach that would come out from behind the stove in the was kind of a bummer we couldn't use the back porch due to one huge nest that was right outside the back door. Other than that it was generally fine. They neighbors around the house were very friendly.
Jose H. from San Antonio, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2011 Everything was perfect, the home is really spacious. The kids love the decks and the big livingroom area. Restrooms were clean and not too small .beds were really comfortable. The only thing we needed but wasn't there was a blender, everything else to cook was there. I definetly will return to this home soon, not unless I invite a whole lot more people. Thank you for everything
Robert F. from San Antonio, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2011 It was a great time always from everything, home, work,& stress..we all love the place from the patio,rooms,amenities..We had an all around great time at the rental & the beach we're looking forward for next stay!! thanks Lin!! God Bless you!
Cecelia B. from Pflugerville, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2011 I loved how spacious the floor plan was.The house was just down the street from the beach and from the stores and restaurants. I went with my kids and they loved the house and enjoyed throwing the football outside. I will definitely be back and I am planning on booking this rental property again.
Guillermo V. from Austin, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2011 The best man and I held bachelor party in Port A at 310LL. Everyone was satisfied with the house. The listing says the house can have up to seven guests, but there is only enough bed space for six. I slept on the floor on top of the coach cushions which was actually quite comfortable. The house is conveniently located near the beach and the city center. In truth, Port A is a very small place and you would be hard pressed to find a place to say that is out of the way. The house has plenty of area to lounge around and a kitchen large enough to cook or prepare food for the two grills outside. A dishwasher would have been nice. I feel obligated to mention this as it may really bother some people. We did see a couple cockroaches during our say to spite the clean appearance of the house.
Chris W. from Rosemount, MN recommends this property. Stayed for 30 days in February, 2011 I would highly recommend this property to anyone. We were fortunate enough to meet the owner who owns the property next door also. This means he keeps very good tabs on the rental property. We were very disappointed that the property was rented for next year, because we would have rerented gladly. We also liked the service we recieved from the people at Banker Caldwell and Port Aransas Escapes. Thank you all.
Kelly S. from Austin, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2010 The great customer service I received on the phone was what sold me at first! Once in the house it just got better and better! Has everything you need-home away from home comments are exact! Our 3 dogs even felt at home. Easy access to town and beach in a car or bicycle. Floorplan in the house is nice and open to fit a small group or a big one! Wish we were going back already!
darrell p. from boerne, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2010 You cannot find a hotel on the island that sleeps 7 this comfortabally. As listed the rental had all the amenities, It was as if you were at home. I shouldnt let the cat out of the bag on how good it was cause the next time we want it it will be booked but it was a great place to vacation. Next time we will try and stay at the same location, our second home. DWP
A guest from Austin, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2010 Our family stayed here in August and liked several things about the property: it was a short drive to the beach but also very close to a great coffee shop, the deck/porch on both sides could be closed which was good for us because we have little kids and a dog. The pull out couch wasn't very comfortable (are they ever?) but the bunk bed was super comfortable.
joel r. from frisco, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2010 Located on a culdesac with no traffic, plenty of room to park my boat and truck and close to the boat ramp and everything else in town. Very pleased.
suzan c. from Round Rock, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2010 We just returned from a week-end at Port Aransas and stayed at this property. I liked it because we could bring our small dog. This property could be a really great property if the owners just updated it. Put some nice pictures on the wall, replace the couch, get a dishwasher, finish tiling the master bath, and paint the rust on the refrigerator. I know these are picky things but this really could be a super rental. This was a spacious rental for our family of 5. Real close to town and the beach. Nice laundry room. Two adequate bedrooms. The kids liked the bunk beds. The pull out couch bed is very uncomfortable. The kids whined on who would have to sleep on it. The area underneath the house where you can grill out is decent. The grill is small so if you are cooking a lot of food bring your own. For the price this is decent but don't expect designer decorating. Oh...the big thing about this property is there is NO dishwasher. You must hand wash everything and we ate in a lot to save money. Kind of a drag. Port Aransas Escapes property management were really nice.
Susan L. from Baytown, Texas recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2010 Stilts is a nice house for enjoying the Port A atmosphere. One of the features we particulary liked was that there were both front and back gated porches on this house. However, we were pretty unhappy about the available seating in the house. There are two really comfortable chairs in the living area, but the couch is really not usable. This was pretty inconvenient since there were four of us. I did discuss this with the office before I left, so hopefully the owner will remedy this problem. We would consider renting this house again only if the seating situation is resolved.
A guest from Boerne, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2010 The volume control on the TV works about 30% of the time which is extremely frustrating. The TV remote does not work at all. The smoke alarm in the master bedroom had a low battery and we had to temporarily disconnect it because of the constant beeping. The sofa bed in the living room is extremely uncomfortable. Otherwise, it is a great place.
A guest from Richmond, Texas recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in June, 2010 Had a wonderful week at the Stilts location. Nice for a small family and the location is a quick 5 minutes to the beach. This house is brighter and much more than the online images offer. We loved our stay and will be back soon.
A guest from San Antonio, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2010 Our rental was centrally located. The property was clean. The property managers were nice, pleasant, and helpful. The living room sleeper couch, T.V.'s, fridge, bbq grill and, vinyl flooring needs updating though.
A guest from Cass Lake, MN recommends this property. Stayed for 46 days in January, 2010 Over all the property was quite nice. Nice decks and carport but the house needs some updating. New furniture and the kitchen better stocked and updated. Beds were nice. Floors all need to be re-tiled or whatever. With some updating and wall decor would be very attractive. The house was not very well cleaned when we arrived.
