A guest from Louisville, KY recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in June, 2016 This was our 2nd stay with Elk Springs. We will continue to use this company when we visit Gatlinburg. A few things broke but they fixed right away. Sauna was useless to us because it was a dry sauna, air was way to dry. Great theater and very clean.
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals We are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for reaching out to us while at the cabin. We are happy to hear our technician was able to respond and correct the issue quickly. We provide 24/7 guest assistance, as well as on-site maintenance for this very reason. We take pride in ensuring our guests are well taken care of. We can certainly understand your disappointment regarding the dry heat from the sauna. While this may be ideal for some of our guests, it is not ideal for everyone. We sincerely apologize that you were unable to enjoy that amenity. Please contact us when you are ready to start planning your next get-away. One of our experienced sales representatives will be happy to assist you in finding a cabin that will not only meet, but exceed your expectations.
Mihir P. from Bloomington, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2016 Overall we were happy with our stay. Not to high up so the drive wasn't as bad. Not too far from main attractions with no traffic. Of course up in the mountains there will be bigs at night so be sure to keep doors closed at night.
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals Thank you for your kind review, Mihir! We are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay. We certainly agree, the resort has the perfect location to enjoy all that our area has to offer. We hope you will consider staying at Elk Springs Resort during your next visit to Gatlinburg. Come back and see us soon!
A guest from Evans, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in May, 2016 Elk Springs resort is top notch. The cabins are lovely and very well maintained, inside and out. The cabin was super clean, which to me besides location is the top requirement. I was pleasantly surprised. The one issue we had is that we couldn't get the home theater system to work. Some written instructions as to how to use this system would have been nice. There is lots to do in Gatlinburg and it's the best hiking vacation we have ever done; countless of incredibly beautiful hiking trails in the area. Most very challenging. This was our second time in Gatlinburg and we will definitely be back. We also definitely will use Elk Springs Resort again at that time.
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals Thank you for your kind words, Marion! It sounds like great memories were made during your visit. Thank you for bringing it to our attention that there are no instructions for the home theater system in the cabin. We do provide written instructions for each cabin that offers this amenity. We can assure you a new copy will be taken out and posted in the theater room. We can certainly understand the frustration caused by not having this and sincerely apologize. We hope you will take the opportunity to come back and visit with us as often as you can. Your next adventure awaits!
A guest from East Orange, NJ does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2016 Nothing worked as it should from the front door that was like a rocket science project to lock to the Home theater room that played movies with no sound (what was the point???). The "customer service reps" were 100% no help 100% of the time (cannot stress that enough), from the beginning of the process they were unpleasant and unnecessarily difficult. The location was miserable from being up a gravel hill that was a nightmare to drive up in the pouring rain to being located in a desolate place where all the roads leading back to civilization were treacherous to drive-- and in all those nonsensical emails mgmt sent, not one mention of this, well, that's an imp. thing to mention!! The noisy neighbors with their motorcycle gang and dogs were ridiculous and it sure didn't help to have no drapes/curtains in the livingroom, never heard of such. The cleaning people cleaned minimally, the linen was old and full of lint, the plates and glassware were not clean and they had the nerve to leave an envelope for a tip as if enough wasn't paid already for this miserable experience. So, no, I would not recommend this place to anyone.
A guest from Chattanooga, TN does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2016 We didn't realize that you could only park at the bottom level of this cabin and had to carry luggage and groceries up to the main level. The 2 master bedrooms both had incredibly hard mattresses (and we like a very firm mattress) however, these were hard as rocks so were very uncomfortable to sleep in. We picked this cabin for the theatre room (which we were unable to use the first night due to some wiring issues that were fixed the 2nd day), and the hot tub, Jacuzzi's and sauna. The hot tub never got "hot" like it was supposed to be so we never used it. Tried one of the identical Jacuzzi's and found it dangerous to get in and out of (normally, a Jacuzzi has a handle near by for safety reasons), therefore, it was only used the one time. Tried to use the sauna and it also didn't get as hot as a sauna should. Overall, it was a nice place but the execution of the amenities was a fail.
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals Thank you for reaching out to us, David. While we are happy to hear that you enjoyed your visit, we are disheartened to hear that you experienced so many issues during your stay. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We were aware of the issue with the home theater room and appreciate you allowing us the opportunity to correct the issue during your stay. The hot tub was noted to be taken care of after you and your family checked out. We were not aware of the issue with the sauna. We can assure you, each of these items have been repaired and are fully functional. Please do not hesitate to contact us during your stay if you should find that any of the amenities are not functioning properly. We are always happy to send one of our experienced maintenance technicians out to the cabin should the need arise. We want you to be able to enjoy each and every amenity offered at the cabin. Please don't suffer, call us. We love assisting our guests! We hope you will consider coming back and visiting with us again during your next visit to Gatlinburg.
A guest from Cincinnati, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2016 This cabin was absolutely AMAZING!! I brought my children to Gatlinburg for a mini family getaway & they enjoyed themselves so much in the cabin itself!! Very clean, provided everything we needed, and just beautiful. I would absolutely attend this resort again ?? Thank you.
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals Thank you for your wonderful review, Nicole. We are happy to hear that you and your family had a great time. We have a large selection of cabins to choose from on Elk Springs Resort. We can surely provide a new adventure each and every time you visit. We would love for you to consider making us your new home away from home while visiting our Great Smoky Mountains.
Lerry S. from Goshen, IN does not recommend this property. Stayed for 6 days in April, 2016 Did not meet our expectations. Quite a bit below the "Luxury" cabin we expected to experience and paid for. Also, my name is "LARRY" not Lerry as you have it listed below. I would suggest removing the listing as "Luxury". Very disappointed.
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals Thank you for your business and for your feedback, Larry. We are sorry to hear that you did not find the cabin met your expectations. Unfortunately, we aren't able to offer you any advice about this particular unit without you listing specific things that you felt were wrong with the cabin itself. Previous guests have given their stay in this cabin 5 star ratings! We certainly hope you will consider a future stay with us, as we have several other properties throughout the area for your enjoyment.
A guest from Toledo, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in March, 2016 The cabin was really nice. Great location. It was clean for the most part. Loved having a washer and dryer. Cons: The dishwasher door was broken so loading the dishwasher was a pain. The jacuzzi was really nice but the water got cloudy by the 3rd day. I think it needed to get shocked. I think it would be nice if a little booster/high chair was available for families with little ones.
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for bringing the issue with the dishwasher to our attention. We apologize for any inconvenience experienced due to the broken door. This has been reported to our maintenance department, it will be repaired. Please do not hesitate to contact us during your stay if you find that any of the amenities are not functioning properly. We want you to be able to enjoy all of the amenities the cabin has to offer. We provide 24/7 guest assistance for this very reason. We are always happy to send one of our friendly, experienced maintenance technicians out to assist you if the need should arise. We can send them out to shock the hot tub if needed during the stay as well. We love helping our guests! Although we do not provide any type of baby equipment, there is a local company that provides rentals to use during your stay. Please call us when you are ready to start planning your next stay, we will be happy to give you their information so that you can see if this may be a benefit to you. We hope you are able to come back and see us soon!

Danielle H. from Indianapolis, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in March, 2016 It was a wonderful and relaxing experience. We will vudit eith Elk Springs again.

A guest from Knoxville, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in February, 2016 3 couples, from our church, enjoyed marriage dvds, fun, and fellowship. The home theater room was awesome, and the hot tub was wonderful with a view of Mount LeConte. We enjoyed the pool table, and the open kitchen, dining, and living space was a perfect place to cook, play games, and sit by the fire. Also, the customer service was better than any place I have stayed before. We had two problems that were quickly taken care of by the maintenance staff too.
Crisden M. from Erieau, ON recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in November, 2015 Hi we love the cabins but there is definitely a lack of things in the kitchen such as a kettle! There is only one pot and when we used the BBQ there is nothing to clean it with! The down stairs carpet is ripped to pieces near the sauna! It needs some desperate renos for sure. Otherwise we love the location
A guest from Alpharetta, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2015 Cabin was super clean and features were plenty like home theatre, hot spa, dry Sona room, pool table, large bunk bed, etc. We enjoyed our stay and kids had real fun. Location was very close to art and craft community and 15 min away from downtown in secluded area. We knew what we signed up when we chose in Elk resort community. If you are looking for an adventurous cabin stay with no cabin around you with fantastic mountain view, look elsewhere not here.
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear that you and your family enjoyed your stay. We do offer a large selection of luxury cabins in Gatlinburg and the surrounding area. If you would like a cabin with a mountain view or seclusion, just let us know. We would be more than happy to assist you with booking your next vacation stay with us.
Susan M. from Indianapolis, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2015 Hilltop Hideaway was everything we visualized and more. The location is perfect for avoiding the traffic in Gatlinburg. There are other cabins in this area, but plenty of space in between each one on the hill. Everyone had their own space and then some. The only complaint we had is that we didn't spend enough time at the cabin. We were out every day horse back riding, hiking, or shopping. We plan to return and never leave the cabin.
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals Thank you for the 5 star review, Susan. We are so pleased that everyone found Hilltop Hideaway exceeded their expectations! There certainly isn't a shortage of things to see and do here in the Great Smoky Mountains. We look forward to your return visit and please remember to mention that you are a repeat guest to receive a 10% discount off your next booking!
Nicholas C. from charleston, SC recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2015 We had a total of 4 adults and 3 kids staying at the Hilltop Hideaway. The kids loved the bunk beds and movie room. The location is excellent and convenient to Gatlinburg with a grocery store very close to the cabin. We will definitely consider staying here again in the future.
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals We sincerely appreciate your business and thank you for taking the time to give us a 5 star review! Customer satisfaction is very important to us and we love to hear that everyone enjoyed their stay. Our repeat guests receive a 10% discount off all future stays, so hurry on back!

A guest from Marietta, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2015 Only thing I would add is more towel pegs in the bathrooms. One isn't enough. Check in was so convenient, great cabin.
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals Thank you Rebecca. We will definitely add some more towel hooks in the bathrooms. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and are glad that you enjoyed your cabin stay!
John S. from Bakersfield, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in September, 2015 Excellent week in a great vacation house. Elk Springs is a nice cabin-only resort, house didn't give us the feeling like we were in someone's house and afraid to touch anything, yet well stocked. Great customer service beginning with a call to check in with us shortly after arriving. We highly recommend Elk Springs for a family vacation. Next door to Gatlinburg and Great Smokey Mountains National Park.
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals John, we greatly appreciate your 5-star review and for being our guest! It sounds like everything met your expectations and you made an excellent choice for your vacation with this cabin! We pride ourselves in providing exceptional customer service and your feedback lets us know that we continue to do a great job in all areas! Thank you for your business and hurry back for more Smoky Mountain memory making!
John H. from Gibbstown, NJ recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in September, 2015 The cabin has a beautiful view in a perfect location and lived up to the pictures!!! Can't wait to go back.
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals Thank you for the 5 star review John! We are pleased that everything met your expectations. Customer satisfaction is very important to us. We keep our website descriptions and photos up to date, so our guests know exactly what to expect upon arrival here. Often times, we hear that the pictures didn't do the cabin justice. We look forward to having you as a repeat guest in the future.
A guest from West Bloomfield, MI recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in August, 2015 Seven of us spent a week at Hilltop Hideaway and had an amazing time. The amenities of the house added to our mountain experience. The view was amazing and the staff couldn't be more helpful. We had some issues with bugs and an exterminator was sent out that same day. Our only complaints - and they are minor- are that we could have used more towels and additional paper towel and dishwasher detergent. This was the only rental property we've stayed at that was lacking both. In addition to needing some new carpet, the house was great.
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals Thank you for your review Jennifer. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the cabin and your whole party had an amazing time. We did have some pesky millipede/bug issues, but this was quickly resolved with a visit from pest control. As for the supplies, we have a standard starter pack that is issued to each cabin at the beginning of your stay. We do advise you via email prior to your arrival of the need to purchase some extras if you will be having an extended stay with us. We feel the carpet still has some life left to it and have a scheduled carpet cleaning for that cabin. We hope you will bring your friends and family back for a future stay with us.
A guest from West Columbia, SC recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2015 Every thing was just like it looked on the web site. Everyone had a great time and we would stay with Elk Springs Resort again and again.
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals Thank you for the 5-star review James. This is a great cabin to sit back and enjoy some relaxation with friends and family. We hope you will continue coming back to Elk Springs Resort for some more Great Smoky Mountain memories.
A guest from Flat Rock, MI recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in July, 2015 On a recent trip to the Smoky Mountains, we stayed at Elks Springs Resort's Hilltop Hideaway cabin. Their warning as you entered the resort: "You may not want to leave!" Truer words were never spoken. My first impression was that the cabin was very clean. My family of six stayed in this 10-person cabin. We had plenty of room. It had three floors and provided an excellent view of the Smokies, especially from the third floor. This would be a big plus during the seasons when there is less foliage on the trees. All the starter amenities Elks Springs promised were there. This conveniently got us through the first day as we got settled. I liked the fact, too, that it was away from the city, that it gave us that cabin feel throughout our stay. Since we are big on arts and crafts I appreciated the cabin being right in the middle of the Arts and Crafts community. On our first day there, the management gave us a courtesy call to assure that everything was fine. After spending our days taking in the Smokies, we looked forward to coming back and doing some relaxing. This was the perfect place to do it. We took advantage of the hot tub, home theater room, sauna, and pool table. Everything satisfied our needs although the home theater system may need a little upgrade to allow something more than just showing movies. All in all, I was very pleased with our cabin. Kudos to Elk Springs for providing an excellent place to stay. Would I recommend this property to a friend or relative? Absolutely!
Jennifer K. from Louisville, Kentucky recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2015 We travelled to Gatlinburg for a long weekend, and had a great time! Only problem was we couldn't stay longer! The cabin was very nice. It appeared to be one of the more secluded cabins (off to the side a bit more than some of the others) which we enjoyed. The cabin was clean and appeared to be well maintained. A short drive to downtown Gatlinburg, which was nice! The Company even called over the weekend to make sure we were enjoying our stay and everything met our expectations. Overall, great experience, and we will definitely go back!
Heidi M. from The Woodlands, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in March, 2015 We stayed 4 nights at the lovely Hilltop Hideaway with our 2 children and their 2 friends. Such a great experience. Everything was spotless and in great condition...true cabin luxury! Just a couple of things to note for future guests. 1. The photo online shows 6 chairs in the media room but there were only 5. We had 6 guests total so it would have been nice to have a chair for each person to enjoy our nightly movies. I called to request an additional chair but one was never delivered. We made it work though...just be aware if this is important to you. 2. It's a true cabin and the walls (or floors rather) are very creaky so you can definitely hear others walking above you. It didn't bother us at all but just make note if this is important to you. We had an amazing time and would book with Elk Springs Lodge again in a heartbeat. Location was excellent to all Gatlinburg activities...best of both worlds, nice quiet relaxation at the cabin and all tourist activities you could want just a short 10 minute drive away. Loved that the Food City is so close too!! Made for easy grocery shopping and preparing meals in the cabin!
A guest from Smyrna, Tennessee recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in February, 2015 The cabin was very nice, a little hard to get to in the snow. Layout was good, kids room was on the first floor which was a bit colder than the rest of the house. Only complaints were the hot tub was not cleaned off and we had to clear off the snow to get in, and the movie room was not the same one pictured. Enjoyed the cabin, the pool table, the grill, hot tub was awesome once we got in it. All around great stay. Sound travels extremely well in this cabin though! Thin walls!
Josh M. from Charlotte, NC does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2015 The cabin was very cute and in a great location. We appreciated the early check in. The biggest frustration was that a the first floor was extremely cold and unusable. We had to squeeze my two girls and my mom in the second floor bed. There needs to be a seperate hearing unit on the first floor. No matter how we adjusted the temperature on the other levels the first floor remained freezing. Because of that reason alone we would never stay there again.
Stephanie B. from Greensboro, NC recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2015 My five sisters and I had a wonderful weekend stay at the Hilltop Hideaway cabin at this resort. It was in a beautiful location with a gorgeous mountain view. Everything inside the cabin was clean, updated, and ready for our fun weekend. It had all the comforts of home. Unlike a regular hotel room with little space to move, all six of us lounged between three floors with more than enough room to spare. This was also my first time experiencing the virtual check-in and check-out. It was great to just arrive at the cabin and let ourselves in and when it was time to check-out, just call in and we were on our way back home. Management called to welcome us and checked on us during our stay. The cabin was easy to find and I was very happy to see that it was private, but there were other cabins around us in view. So we were not alone in the woods. Being six women, the best part of the trip was we were only a few minutes away from great shopping, museums, shows and food. It was an excellent trip. We are now in the process of planning a time our entire family can visit. I have recommended this resort to family and friends.
Anthony D. from Troy, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in January, 2015 Loved the cabin, very clean and made use of all of the amenities. Great location for getting into town quickly. The only thing I would say is that the location of the hot tub on the deck is not ideal and the water in it was overflowing to the lower lever by the doorway. This is our second time staying at Elk Springs Resort and we will be back for a third.
A guest from Canfield, Ohio recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in November, 2014 We arrived when it was dark and it was very difficult to find the cabin. An actual address to our cabin as opposed to the resort entrance would have been nice. We just kept pausing outside each cabin trying to find the name of our rental. The only problem worth noting was that the heating in the unit was very unbalanced. The basement bedroom was frigid, but the top floor bedroom was roasting. At the risk of sounding like Goldilocks, the main floor bedroom was just right. Bring extra blankets for the basement dwellers. There was a 15 degree difference between the basement at 63 and the top floor at 78 degrees. The views were spectacular and the cabin was comfortable. We loved having our Thanksgiving dinner overlooking the mountains. There are only 5 movie theater seats unlike the photo so we had to pull in a regular chair when we wanted to watch a movie together. If you plan on doing serious cooking, you probably will want to bring some of your own gadgets. The kitchen is appointed with the basics, but for example the biggest pot had no lid and there was only one dish that could go in the microwave.
Cathy M. from Florence, KY does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in November, 2014 The house was beautiful.Although there were 2 problems upon arrival, they were resolved in a timely manner. The downside..(reasons why i wont return) is for 2 reasons..1. Too far from town. 2. Too many cabins in sight. I thought by the description that there was only 1 other cabin in our area..maybe an advertising "stretch" to make it seem more private than it is.Your cabins are beautiful..if only location was different..thought the price was definitely more than the house was worth..especially with the little soaps and minimal little perks provided.
Joseph M. from Wake Forest, NC recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in October, 2014 The Hilltop Hideaway and Elk Springs Resort exceeded our expectations. The cabin was spotless and they were quick to respond the one time we had an issue with the Jacuzzi. I will be staying there again with my family.
A guest from Indianapolis, IN does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in October, 2014 Hilltop Hideaway was nice, but based on the amount of money we paid to stay there, I was disappointed. When we first arrived, we notified the main office right away that one of our toilets did not flush properly, and the hot tub was leaking. Repair persons came within a couple hours, but they both basically said there was nothing they could do right away and we would have to live with it. Living with a toilet that will not flush for four nights was not something I was really happy about. Also, not a big deal, but the middle drawer in the master bedroom dresser was missing. It just added to our impression that this was *not* a luxury cabin and details were not important to the staff. Finally, the TVs in every room seemed quite small for the spaces (except for the theater room of course). On the plus side, the beds were very comfortable, the location was convenient to Gatlinburg, and the cabin was generally clean. The showers were also awesome. Our kids enjoyed the pool table in the loft, but I would recommend a cabin with the pool table on the bottom floor. Every time they dropped a pool cue or a ball went off the table, it was extremely loud throughout the rest of the house. The kids also enjoyed the theater room. All in all, it was a nice cabin, but for the price, I expected much more. If we ever come back to the area, I will probably look for another resort.
A guest from Signal mtn, Tennessee does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2014 I felt that the property was slightly misrepresented. I did not consider it "luxury". The linens need to be upgraded, and the beds were very sloppily made. It was a very nice cabin, and could easily be made more "luxurious" with a few added amenities and thorough cleaning, including the furniture.
A guest from Dublin, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2014 We stayed at Rascals Retreat last time and it was great. The Hilltop Hideaway left something to be desired. When we first arrived there was urine on the downstairs toilet seat and hair in the shower. In the daylight you could see dust and hair along all the corners and walls out to about 2" from the wall. It appears they only clean the main floors and not along the edges. There were white stains on 3 of the blankets and more hair on the comforter. (I am hoping it was just soap that didn't get rinsed off.) The washing machine only worked for 2 loads of clothes and then quit working and the dishwasher was the loudest one I had ever heard. I also wish we would have asked for a floor plan. With 2 children under 3 there is a lot of packing. The main living area is on the second floor so everything had to be carried up and down the stairs. It wasn't all negative though. The view was nice and it was a quiet stay. Overall if it had been clean we would have been okay with everything else. I would have mentioned these problems to management and I would have hoped they would have taken care of them. Unfortunately my wife took the calls from Elk Springs and she didn't want to complain.
Sherry L. from Radcliff, KY does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2014 I mean it was great location and cabin with awesome features but the cabin was not clean or the hot tub. Three family members got bacteria infections and rashes on their skin. A lot of electronics were broke ....but most of all there too many bugs. Different kind! Every hour on the hour. Like I said on my survey, maintenance was fast at getting there .....they justjust needed pest control and they needed to clean up.
A guest from Frankfort, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in June, 2014 We had a great time. The cabin was beautiful, very clean and well kept. Nice to have 3 bedrooms and 3 baths on 3 different floors. Theater room was great but one chair had been removed because it was broken and was not replaced for our whole week's stay. Otherwise, very responsive to calls. I would stay with Elk Springs again.
A guest from Boaz, Alabama recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2014 Excellent place for a family vacation! It was a beautiful, quiet location with a great view. We enjoyed every moment. Our only issue was with what we thought to be tiny centipedes that appeared on the deck and in bathrooms. I am sure this was just an issue in wooded areas.
Ashley Z. from Indianapolis, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2014 From the moment we arrived at the cabin, it was breathtaking! The cabin was very clean, the amenities were awesome and the view was just heavenly!! The staff there was incredible. Although we never once saw them, they called the day after we arrived just to check and make sure we were having a good time. I would come here every year!
A guest from Monroe, NC recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2014 The house was everything we wanted, ages 4 to 64! Our group of 40 chose this resort because of the multiple houses within close proximity. The beds were very comfortable; we made every use of the hot tub, sauna, Jacuzzi, theater room, and porch. The staff was prompt with requests. Would love to return and just spend more time at Hilltop Hideaway. We loved it. Cozy yet spacious.
Dina W. from New Smyrna Beach, FLORIDA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2014 We really enjoyed our 2 days stay at Hilltop Hideaway. The cabin was very clean, and had all of the ammenities we needed. The view was spectacular and it was so relaxing to just sit on the deck and relax in the rocking chairs...and later in the hot tub! The home theatre was a real treat. Shopping was close by. It was a great visit! We'll be back!
Lisa B. from Williamston, MI recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in April, 2014 The cabin was very nice. It had 3 floors with a bedroom on each floor. The check-in was easy. We had an issue with the theater system and it was fixed quickly. It was a very comfortable place to stay.
Wade S. from Miami, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in March, 2014 Hilltop Hideaway was exceptional in every way. What other ammenaties other than a butler could you ask for?The flat screens should be bigger in bedrooms and especially in living room. Also need under cabinet lights in kitchen.
A guest from Mansfield, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in February, 2014 First off, I was very dissatisfied with the view. I was under the impression that it would have a great view and it did not. As far as the cleanliness...someone had written their name in the accumulating dust that has been left for some obvious time now being that they can write "Kevin" in it. There also could have been more attention paid to the cleaning of the tub/ shower in the upstairs bathroom. There were cobb webs on the ceiling in the shower and hair in the tub. Also, the shams on the pillows in the bedroom had "drool" stains on them. Can they not be washed?! We just threw them to the side. With that said, the overall cleanliness of the cabin was good. We didn't feel disgusted, just a little concerned; seeing all the dust and such it made you wonder what was actually clean. Definitely could use a good "spring cleaning". My thought is if you're collecting a cleaning fee with every visit you would think it would be spotless or at least very close to it.The people at the resort were very professional and easy to work with. The resort itself is about 10 - 15 minutes from the main strip in Gatlinburg. You drive through the Art and Crafts area which is interesting. Overall, the stay at the cabin was good. We all had a good time. I would go back to this resort but I will pay close attention to the pictures to try and get a better idea of the views. I will also bring along a bottle of Clorox spray and Swiffer as well. :)
David E. from Nashville, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in February, 2014 We had a great time at the Elk Springs Resort Hilltop Hideaway cabin! My wife and I and our friends really enjoyed the cabin. The cabin was very clean. We enjoyed watching movies in the theater room and cooking breakfast. The views of the mountains were wonderful! Very fun and relaxing trip!
Elizabeth P. from Henderson, Kentucky does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2013 The view was not what I expected, the cabin was smaller than I expected but the main problem was how noisy the cabin was all the floor boards squeaked as well as the beds, at night if someone got up and walk across the floor everyone in the cabin could hear the squeaking floors which made it very difficult to sleep.
Victoria M. from Fenton, MO does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2013 I never take the time to write reviews, but I am going to with this one. With the cost of the rental, I was really disappointed. The beds were hard, the cabin was dirty (dust bunnies under furniture, cob webs, etc), carpet needs to be replaced. They also charged $45 to clean the hot tub, but when we got in, there were two beer bottle caps in there, leading me to believe they took the $45 and ran. We had to call maintenance upon arriving b/c of wasps. The movies we brought for my son were unusable b/c they are bluray and they only had a DVD player. No input either so we couldn't watch Netflix or anything. The TVs around the house are very small. Also, you could hear every word that was spoken, even two floors up. Basically, except for the view, it was like staying at a basic hotel. Extremely disappointing, especially the $45 hot tub cleaning that was NOT done.
David K. from Birmingham, AL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2013 Enjoyed the cabin only wish that we had more towels in the room, because everytime I thought to call for more, never got around to it.... Its not like a hotel where they come by every day and make up the room. So with that being said I loved it. Even though it was something small, just food for thought... like I told the oyjer couples, if that's the only complaint I have then it was GREAT.
Marsha B. from Richmond, KY recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2013 We stayed for a weekend - a bit too short, but still well worth it. The cabin was spacious with all the ammenties of home. The reason I didn't give it five stars across the board, there were a few cosmetic details which weren't completed (no big deal - just curtain rods down and a few minor issues). I would definetly recommend this cabin, but book for at least a week!
Allen S. from Irmo, SC recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2013 We were very pleased with the cabin. I really enjoyed the media room. It was a great way to celebrate our one anniversary of marriage. I Will definitely recommend the resort to friends and family for a vacation choice.
A guest from Ridgeland, MS recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2013 Excellent property with excellent amenities. I have and will continue to recommend Elk Springs to everyone in need of a getaway. The view was superb and the movie theater was a magnificent bonus.
A guest from Bucyrus, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2013 When we come back to TN we will definitely stay at Elk Springs Resort again! The cabin and hot tub were very clean, the staff was terrific to work with and it is a great location. I would definitely recommend staying here!!
Mark T. from Scottsville, KY recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in June, 2013 The cabin and checkin/checkout process were so perfect it would be difficult to find any opportunity for improvement. The cabin was just perfect (woodwork, design, clean, pool table, showers, sauna, rocking chairs, theater room, etc). It is a rare place were you could actually just spend your days in the cabin and be happy. It was that nice, especially the theater room! The cabin community was definitely secluded and peaceful. The checkin/checkout process was the best I have experienced. Very convenient. Will definitely stay with Elk Springs again.
Billy H. from Rockvale, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2013 Great cabin, but not quite perfect. We had two small children with us and they were not too excited about sleeping in the room with the bunk beds because that is the room closest to the entrance of the cabin, while the master suite is up on the third floor. My wife and I gave up the master suite after the first night so the kids would feel more secure. The only other disappointment was with the media room. That was supposed to be my favorite room in the cabin, but then I discovered that the equipment will not play Blue-Rays. All I brought was blue-rays, so I was pretty disgusted. I really believe that if the media room is going to be hyped in a big way as one of the reasons this cabin is worth paying a premium for, then the technology should be updated to work with todays movies. If that is too much to ask then at least make it very clear to potential renters that blue-rays will not work. Happily there was a RedBox at Food City so I was able to get a couple of dvd's to alleviate the problem. Having said that, we had a fantastic time and was overall very pleased with our accommodations.
Jonathan W. from Orangeburg, SC recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2013 My family and I truly enjoyed our stay at Hilltop Hideaway. The place was very spacious, as each of us slept on our own floor. The movie theater was awesome too. The only thing we would recommend is that the company spray for bugs, but that's minor compared to the wonderful stay that we had at this resort.
A guest from Nesconset, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2013 Stayed here with a family group for a week. The young adults loved the theater but it was always too cold. The hot tub was nice but not hot and some of the jets did not work. The rooms were smaller than they appear in the photos. I would have preferred queen beds and room for a table rather than the kings and no room to move. The basement was perfect for the younger folks. View was the best in the development, location was very good, especially if you find the back roads to pigeon forge. The maintance man came within minutes of calling re a broken toilet paper holder and replaced it. The lighting in the kitchen and baths was very poor and the rain showers in the large tubs difficult to get in and out of. Coupled with the steep stairs it is not for those with any physical challenges. Bottom line: a very nice house in a very nice area for a few nights only.
Amazing first time experience. Will be back next year!
Donald F. from Paris, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2013 Everything was right on par. The only negative thing I can say is the cinema room was very nice but we couldn't figure out how to watch a regular tv station.
Tracy D. from Avon, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in May, 2013 The cabin was beautiful and we had a wonderful time. The only thing I can mention is the lack of a few necessary items (hot pads for the oven, larger/extra towels for hot tub use (vs bathing), and extra trash bag(s)).
A guest from Atlanta, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2013 Excellent time. Great location. Very nice accomodations. Our original cabin became unaccessible due to weather - Elk Springs work with us quickly to accomodate our trip.
Reviewed by: Matt M. recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2013 Stretched back in his plush, reclining movie theater seat, my friend Tommy took a sip of his cold beverage and pressed the pause button. We were watching one of our favorite action movies from the 80's on a massive 9' wide movie screen with pounding surround sound. He took a minute to compose himself and said, "Dude, when I'm in a REAL movie theater, I'll actually be dreaming of THIS place." Tommy was right. Dream-worthy movie theater room aside, this cabin has everything you could possibly want in a mountain getaway?the amenities are ridiculously awesome. The hot tub, pool table and TVs in every room are always fantastic... but an overhead rain-down shower in a jacuzzi tub? Sauna? Movie theater? Who the heck puts this kind of stuff in a cabin? One of my buddies re-finishes cabinets & does a lot of wood work, and he said the attention to detail & craftsmanship was the best he'd ever seen in a cabin. It wasn't just well put together... it was CLEAN. Nothing about this place screams cheap... even down to the microwave oven & silverware. All top of the line stuff. You're also going to be dealing with one of the most courteous & professional staffs in the Smokies. The check-in process is unbelievably easy, and they called regularly to make sure we had everything we needed & made sure we were living it up right.Needless to say, we had a weekend for the history books. I'm a local, and I've spent a lot of money with many different cabin companies over the years. I'll say with confidence that my experience with Elk Springs was the best I've had, hands down. The only bad part about it? One weekend wasn't long enough to get through all our favorite Arnold Schwarzenegger movies in that movie theater. Seeing "Predator" on the big screen again was bliss... and you can bet "we'll be back" next year for that special edition "Total Recall" viewing.I nearly cried when we had to leave, so be sure to pack some tissues just in c
A guest from Bloomington, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in March, 2013 We had a great time at Hilltop Hideaway. We loved relaxing at the cabin and were surprised by how much we enjoyed the cinema room especially. We loved waking up to the views of the mountains too. My key recommendations for improvements would be to stock the kitchen a little more completely/diversely - there are no serving dishes, but about 30 bowls/plates of the same size, no placemats/coasters, no pot scrubber, etc. We stayed in rental properties that were stocked better overall with some games/dvds/wool blankets for sitting on the deck etc that just help make the stay stand out. Last, the upstairs bedroom creaks so much (both the floor and the bed) that those below hear every move. Despite these things, you can see we gave a good review because the cabin is still a high quality and good location.
A guest from Knoxville, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in March, 2013 We were pleased with the overall stay of our little weekend getaway. We did find only three problems of which were not resolved even after calling the property management and cleaning company. The first small annoyance was finding a thick layer of dust on the dining table and throughout the property. We had to leave and go to the store just to get dishwashing soap since there was none left with the instructions saying there would be and to call if not and someone would bring it over. No one returned our call or brought any over so we had to leave and go to the store just for that one item. And no linens were available for the downstairs sofa bed...a real frustration and again no return call regarding such and inconvenience. We used blankets from around the house for linens. I know these three items seems trivial, but when you are paying close to $1000 for two days, you expect to get what you pay for, I believe. Thank you.
Mark F. from Pensicola Beach, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in December, 2012 Our stay at Hilltop Hideaway was awesome. We travel to Gatlinburg every December for a family vacation and have never stayed at this resort. The experience was great in every way and we will definitely be back! Thanks for everything!
Shaun B. from Brentwood, TN does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2012 phone didn't work, heater didn't work, hot tub didn't work and wasn't clean... plus our other cabin had not toilet paper, that's right none
Bobby B. from Imperial, Missouri recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2012 Overall, very nice stay. There were a few unexpected things, but this was by far the least problematic vacation getaway I've had. Very comfortable and well equipped cabin. Thanks Elk Springs.
A guest from Masaryktown, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2012 Very nice, clean with wonderful amenities. Quiet area, nice neighborhood. Loved the theater! The support staff was very professional and called to make sure we were satisfied upon our arrival. We would highly recommend it!
Kris W. from Taylorsville, KY recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2012 The property was very nice, very clean and the management was very accommodating to all our needs. The furnishings were updated and we really enjoyed the kitchen, although we felt there could have been a bit more cookware items, especially if we had been cooking for a large group. Our primary disappointment was the view. One of our top priorities in picking a cabin was a mountain view but this view was obstructed considerably by trees. We also were disappointed that the mountains were in front where you overlooked the neighborhood so there really wasn't any privacy when sitting out on the deck (or the hot tub). Where we stayed previously, the view was in the back of the cabin so when you were out on your deck it was much more private, unobstructed and quite a bit less expensive. I did like the location, it was fairly quiet and close to a lot of the arts and crafts shops if you are into that. Previously we stayed in Pigeon Forge where there was quite a bit more traffic to deal with. The theater room was a nice addition but be sure to plan to bring your own movies - I thought there might be somewhat of a dvd library but there was not (and I think that would be a nice amenity)and regular tv was not available in the theater room itself. I would also have liked a larger tv in the great room and the ones in the bedrooms were quite small as well, but not such a big deal there. The sauna was nice also but we only ended up using it once. Overall, we enjoyed the cabin and, as I said, the Elk Springs employees were very hospitable. If the cabin view isn't super important to you then I would recommend Hilltop Hideaway.
Robin L. from Lancaster, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2012 Stayed in Hill Top cabin, second time at an Elk Spring cabin, first time in Hill Top. Had a great time, loved everything about it and will be back again next year
Cher T. from New Port Richey, FL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2012 The cabin itself was beautiful. All the amenities were as stated. What was NOT as stated was the fact that these cabins are RIGHT on top of each other. The noise coming from the other cabins was ridiculous all night long. Even quiet conversations on the front porch were heard at 3 am. Kids screaming, dogs barking, babies crying. Also, the hot tub outside is not under the cover of the roof, which means if it rains, you can't use the hot tub. It's wide open to the elements and faces the front of the house, right on the main road and stares right into the house across the street. The other thing? The bedrooms are stacked on top of each other. Every time someone walks (or "whatever") in the room above you, you hear Every. Single. Noise. The management company never responded to our noise complaints. They also never called us with the "secret code" to get into the house when we arrived. We literally drove around for TWO hours waiting for the management company to call us with the express check in code. So, we ended up losing a few hours of our first day. However, on check out? The minute the clock hit 10 am, the cleaning people were knocking on the front door and sitting in the driveway, waiting for us to leave. It was very uncomfortable to have someone sitting on the driveway just staring at you because we were 15 minutes late to leave. If you are expecting a "mountain view", you'll get one. A mountain about 10 miles away off in the distance. Your immediate view is of about a dozen rooftops of other cabins. While the place itself was very lovely, we were disappointed that it was like living in condos, literally so close you can see into each others windows. It is very misleading on the website, makes it look like you are nice and secluded in the woods an on a mountain. You're not on a mountain. You're on a hill. While its very pretty, we won't be staying there again.
Jeff S. from Bluntsville, AL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2012 Cabin was very nice. Sauna was broken which was disappointing. There was also field mouse that decided to join us during our stay. I guess that is to be expected as you are in the woods. We would use this cabin again.
Keerthi B. from Salem, Oregon recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2012 I liked the house very much. We enjoyed alot staying in the house. The view was also very nice. We had hard time to get there(directions) and we almost spent more than an hour finding the place. The maintenance was little bad. We didn't have minimum facilities in the bath room and kitchen. Other than that overall stay was awesome. And also no signal in that cabin. We ar e almost dead there. But it is really a nice cabin for vacation in Smoky Mountains....
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals Cell service is limited, however, verizon and us cellular will work 100%. There is unlimited phone service available in the cabin via a regular phone.
Bryan E. from Burns, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in May, 2012 We enjoyed staying at Hilltop Hideaway very much! I liked how clean it was and the atmosphere in the house. It felt like home. We loved the theater! I also like the express check-in and check-out. I have no suggestions for improvement because everything was great! Thanks!
Cathy S. from Kenosha, WI recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in April, 2012 We enjoyed the cabin very much. Having a theater and pool table for our teenage kids was perfect. I would recommend this cabin highly.
Sheila and David B. from North Canton, Ohio recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in April, 2012 We like the convenient location of Elk Springs. Our cabin was very clean although we did see 4 **** roaches inside. Views were great!
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals The good thing is they were Dead roaches. We do have a preventative maintenance program and sometimes we do find dead bugs. We did clean the cabin prior to your arrival and sometimes they do sporadically die. It's uncommon that this happens and we're sorry you found them. Please call us and we'd be happy to assist you should something unexpected happen again. We do have maintenance and housekeeping on site.
Jackie C. from Ooltewah, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2012 We were very excited when we booked this long weekend vacation. The cabin overall was very good. Beatific views, plenty of room, great location. However, for the money it was a little disappointing. The carpet was dirty, wonderful rain shower leaked all through the house due to poor sealing around the tub. The carpet had stains and chairs in the movie room were broken. I left a complaint on the check out message and no on called to even check on the issues. All this was disappointing and there are many other great places to stay that prObably don't have a rutted out gravel driveway you had to drive straight up.
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals Hi Jackie, thanks for the comments. The carpets are cleaned from time to time and the group before you was slightly disrespectful in tracking in dirt and mud. Normally we do clean these, but they did check out the same day. We have remedied the seal around the tub to avoid the leak issue, however, we did notice that the tub was overfilled and a spillover did cause a majority of the water leak.
Amy J. from Huntley, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2012 This was our first time in the Smoky Mountains. We loved coming home to "our" cabin each day and night. There was plenty of room for all of us, and so much to explore right in our own cabin. We loved the movie room and had a movie night each night after a day of exploring. It was a pretty view, though we expected it would be a little better. Only other issue were wasps near the hot tub. Thanks for the great time!
A guest from Weston, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in December, 2011 We stayed for 6 nights at Hilltop Hidaway, it was a great experience overall. The cabin has all the amenities needed and it is conveniently located. It would be perfect if it would have housecleaning service every two or three days.
Lisa N. from Pensacola, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in December, 2011 We recently vacationed in Gatlinburg and stayed in an Elk Springs Resort cabin. I have to say it was one of the best experiences we have had on a vacation! The cabin far exceeded our expectations! The cabin was spotless and in perfect updated condition. With a theater room, sauna, jacuzzi and game room there was plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained. Just a short drive from Gatlinburg into the mountains which made it easy to get to local attractions, but also gave the privacy and nature experience we were hoping for. Along the drive to the cabin you pass many local shop featuring local artists with many "souvenirs" available to remember the experience. We definitely be back to stay in Elk Springs Resort! It's at the top of our list!!
Brenda H. from Goshen, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in November, 2011 This was our 4th year to meet in Gatlinburg for Thanksgiving, and our 3rd year at Elksprings Resort. We love your cabins! They are always clean and updated, and the location is perfect. This year we needed a pitcher to make ice tea, and some big bowls for mixing up our Thanksgiving meal, but other than that, we had everything we needed. We will be back!
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals We appreciate the opportunity to have you as a guest! Don't forget that you get 10% off all future stays as a repeat guest!
Kirsten N. from Midland City, AL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in November, 2011 We came on a Sunday afternoon and stayed until Wednesday morning the week of Thanksgiving. Although the weather was drizzly and cloudy most of the time, we did enjoy a small break from the clouds when we went to Cade's Cove. The cabin was well appointed and all was clean and orderly. When we found the fire place tonot be working we just called maintenance and they were there within a few hours to fix the problem. The only real complaint we have is that we couldn't stay a whole week. We would gladly come back again!
A guest from Hazard, KY recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2011 We loved our cabin. It was beautiful and was even better than the pictures. It had everything we could want. The hot tub was a hit with the family. It was in a perfect location and the cover was easy to get on and off. The decks and rocking chairs were wonderful! The grill worked perfectly and we grilled the best steaks one night. I loved the layout of the cabin and we enjoyed watching movies in the theater room. We had a great stay and will be back!
Trena D. from Fayetteville, NC recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2011 Great place to stay. Love the layout and the porch with hot tub. Would definitely consider renting this place again. Only "complaint" would be the cleaning. Fridge was not clean and had sticky stuff with hair in it (ugg). The hot tub seemed like it needed scrubbing around floor and sides. Overall the place was awesome.
A guest from Cockeysville, MD recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in August, 2011 Cleanliness is at the top of our list, and we were very pleased with Elk Springs Resort. Our cabin was Hilltop Hideaway. We wiped out a few drawers before putting our clothes in, and the silverware drawer in the kitchen was crumby, so we washed all the silverware before using. The grill on the porch was filthy. But there were no cobwebs or dirty floors, etc. The hot tub was spotless as well as the bathrooms. We found it a bit disconcerting to never meet the staff or have an office to go to. Everything from check-in to check-out to maintenance is done by phone or email. We didn't realize until we got there that we would have no cell phone service anywhere on the resort. And the cabin had no landline, so the only way to communicate with staff was by email on our laptop. The Wii we had requested before arrival was not in the cabin, so we emailed the staff and they brought it over in an hour. They even came back and set it up when we couldn't figure it out. It's a lovely resort with great cabins. I think they should have a direct phone line to their office in every cabin, and it would be nice if the grills were serviced.
Thomas D. from Drexel Hill, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in August, 2011 My friend's and I had a wonderful time at Elk Springs Resort. We enjoyed every minute of the cabin stay and the overall layout of the grounds. We especially liked the fact that we were secluded from downtown, however close enough if we wished to go in for some dinner or other activities. Thank you again, I'll be sure to recommend your resort to family and friends!
Scott M. from Canton, MI recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2011 Our family and friends stayed at Elk Springs in August. We found the cabin to be beyond our expectations and perfect for our long weekend. In fact, we spent less time doing activities in town due to all of us enjoying all that the cabin had to offer. The movie theater, hot tub and pool table room were great! We plan to come back next summer! Can't wait!
Alan A. from Mount Pleasant, SC recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2011 Very comfortable accomodations! We stayed 4 nights/5 days in the Hilltop Hideway and it honestly couldn't have been better. Our family of 6 had more than enough room to rest comfortably- for less money than 3 cheap hotel rooms would have cost. The ice maker kept our cooler full for our day trips into the park for waterfall hikes and adventuring around Gatlinburg. We grilled steaks on the BBQ grill, enjoyed the hot tub, and watched a movie every night in the luxurious theater room. The resort community of cabins is located around a hilly and winding mountain road that provided fun morning run/walks around the loop. We even had a baby black bear just out front of our cabin on the second night. Elk Springs is a short 5-10 minute drive into Gatlinburg- far enough to be away from the traffic and crowds yet still very convenient. Our 4 kids, ages 10-17, told me this was their favorite vacation rental ever- so that's a win for me! Overall an excellent first time to the Great Smokey mountains.

The cabin was beautiful and comfortable. The location was perfect - minutes to downtown Gatlinburg. Even though you could see your neighbors it was very quiet and peaceful - we spent most of our time on the rocking chairs outside! I would highly recommend Hilltop Hideaway and Elk Springs Resort Cabins to anyone!
Emily T. from Bloomington, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2011 There was a leak dripping into the toilet in the bathroom off the kitchen. We weren't very pleased that the cabin was designed to be able to sleep 8 people and there were only 8 towels the entire time we were there. There is a hot tub, so that only gives every person in the house 1 towel to shower with AND use for the hottub. We thought that we would get fresh towels the second day, but didn't. Also, the kitchen only had one skillet which made it difficult for cooking. All the other vacation cabins we have stayed in have more than one skillet and have at least a salt and pepper shaker.
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals Hi Emily, Thank you for the review. We do provide extra towels in the cabinets in each bathroom. If that is not enough, you can always give us a call and we would be more than happy to bring you more towels as we have housekeeping on site. Our contact information for housekeeping is in the cabin guide book in the cabin, check in documentation and on the refrigerator. We do apologize for the missing skillet, we missed this during our QA walk thru. We do inventory these items and if you do ever need something you can call us and we will bring it to you. We are sorry it wasn't there on your arrival. We discovered the leak was caused by showering without the shower curtain being used which ended up causing the leak. We did recaulk and reseal the flooring to help prevent this in case a future guest forgets to use the shower curtain.
A guest from Verona, KY does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in May, 2011 The only complaint I have was the incomplete cleaning before I checked in. I had to call because the house, especially the kitchen area had not been properly cleaned. Moldy food on a chair at the dining table, popcorn under furniture, crumbs and dust around the bar, dead bugs in the carpet, tables not wiped off, and actually someone's left over popcorn in the theater room. The cleaning service responded quickly at my request but still were not thorough. Also in the gravel where you enter the house, there are many cigarette butts, beer lids and other debris. Pretty gross for the money you pay to stay there. I stayed at another property last winter and everything was perfect. The Hilltop Hideway is a nice property but I felt uncomfortable considering the lack of cleanliness. In these days where one has to worry about bed bugs, feeling you are in a clean place is imperative. I don't think I could recommend Elk River to friends at this point. No one called to check if my complaints had been properly solved and the lack of attention to detail would not make this a first class vacation choice.
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals we're sorry about the inconvenience and glad we could respond quickly to your requests.
A guest from Lexington, SC recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2011 We enjoyed our stay very much. The cabin was ready when promised and everything was in working condition. It was close in to Gatlinburg for convenience but was very quiet for sitting on the porch. We hope to get back soon.
Melissa A. from Helena, AL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in January, 2011 We've now stayed at Elk Springs three years in a row and it has always been a wonderful experience. I HIGHLY recommend your resort to all of my friends and family going to Gatlinburg.
A guest from Morristown, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2011 Overall, it was very nice. There were hairs in the bathtub that were not ours. We found a coke can next to the hot tub which made us wonder if the tub was emptied and refilled before our stay. It would be really nice if the media room was connected to cable or the internet so we could have watched movies from Netflix or cable. Again, overall, it was very nice.
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals Hi Tamara, we definitely drain, sanitize and balance the tubs before every clean. Sometimes a guest will drop a can beside a hot tub and the deck railing and it can go unnoticed. Our cleaning crews have shared liability on the hot tub so they must clean them and our quality control inspectors do inspect the hot tubs prior to check in.
A guest from Franklin, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in January, 2011 The cabin was great. Hardwood floors and knotty pine on the walls and ceiling. Very well decorated. Upscale cabin with hot tub, sauna, pool table, fire place, large decks and balcony.

Brent B. from Acworth, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in December, 2010 We had to move cabins 3 times during our 6 day stay. This was due to squireles being in our wall in the 1st cabin. The bedpost was also broken in this cabin. I was awaken to a falling bedpost and skreetching animal in the wall resulting in me falling in the dark and breaking my thumb with 2 torn ligaments. The managment moved us to a beautiful upgrade cabin. Unfortunately the seats in the move room where broken and the air hockey table was falling to the ground and unsafe for the kids. The seats were fixed by maintance but the hockey table wasn't. We had to move the 3rd time due to cabin availability. This cabin was great, but we were met by pest control and he proceeded to use the restroom as he waited for mgmt to meet him at our final location. Just unprofessional. In the end we lost 2 days worth of time due to the hospital stay and all the moves. Again - mgmt did everything possible to correct this situation. In the end just an unfortunate holiday.
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals Sorry Brent for the inconveniences, we tired our best! Just as your prior stays were flawless and enjoyable, let's make you next stay with us 100% perfect. You do get 10% off future stays.
A guest from Athens, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2010 The unit was very clean and beautiful. The only issue was the bathrooms. The bathtubs were not clean and the tub upstairs and on the second level both had hair in them. Other than that the entire trip was fantastic and will be back next year only with more family members.
Ann G. from New Roads, LA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in November, 2010 This was the first time that our family decided to get away for Thanksgiving week. We really had a wonderful time. The cabin was in a great location - far enough away, but only a 10-15 minute ride to downtown Gatlinburg. Grocery, pharmacy, spirit stores close, too! We had a few little hitches with a TV in one of the rooms and maintenance was out to fix it within minutes. The floors on the main floor (2nd story) were a bit dirty when we arrived. Since we had 3 kids under 5, we cleaned them ourselves. Evrything else was very clean. We had planned to cook and I must say, the kitchen was poorly stocked if you wanted to do some basic cooking for 9 people. Frying bacon and eggs for breakfast was a challenge because there were only 2 small fry pans. We also wanted to make gumbo, but didn't have a large enough pot, so we had to go buy one. I would reccommend that the owners spring for some bigger pans for a cabin that fits that many people. I ended up leaving the pot I bought in the cabin for the next residents. The heater didn't work, but it was only really cold on the day we left. It would have been a big issue had we been staying another day. Check in and out was very easy. All in all we had a fabulous time and would definitely go back.
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals Hi Ann, we're constantly restocking the cabins with pots and pans so it is now replenished. Should you need anything during your stay we have housekeeping on site so feel free to call us.
A guest from Monroe, MI recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in November, 2010 We absolutely loved our stay at Elk Springs. The cabin is gorgeous and the view is also. The only complaint we have is that the heat didnt work on the bottom floor at all and it got pretty cold in there no matter how much we turned it up. Other than it was great and we look forward to coming and staying again.
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals Hi Melvin, thanks for the review. If you have a maintenance issue please let us know as we have maintenance on site. We've had all of our HVAC units checked for the winter but sometimes they do have problems. Again, if you have an issue please call our office as we have maintenance staff on site.
A guest from Sumter, SC recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in October, 2010 Enjoyed the cabin and the cabin was clean and roomy. Great location and close to everything. Only drawback was three bathrooms and only two towels in each for a week stay. Six towels for a three bedroom cabin and we stayed five days but it was the busy season.
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals Tammy, we're sorry for the confusion on the towels. There are additional towels in the cabinets in the bathrooms. You can always call our main number and press 6 for housekeeping. We are onsite and can bring them directly to your Gatlinburg Cabin.
Jerry H. from Lavergne, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2010 This was the second time we've stayed at Elk Springs and we are already planning a 3rd. The resort is great, beautiful cabins, wonderful views and just the right distance from Gatlinburg. Looking forward to staying there again come spring.
Chad J. from Murfreesboro, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2010 We were very impressed with the cabin . We will never have to find anywhere else to stay . I will be a customer for life . I will be sending friends & family your way .
A guest from Albuquerque, NM recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in September, 2010 The only thing I didn't care for was the reservation and check in process. We received several duplicate emails saying we still owed money even though it had already been paid for. With cell phone service sketchy in that area, I don't think relying on a cell call for your entry code is a good idea. The cabin was really nice though and super clean. Management was quick to fix the small things that needed to be done.
Henry G. from Aurora, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2010 Hilltop Hideaway is not too far up in the hills to frighten flat-landers, close enough to Great Smoky Mountains National Park to occasionally see bears, and far enough from Fannie Farkle's in downtown Gatlinburg to be quiet and relaxing.
Tanya Y. from Hampton, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2010 This was a fabulous cabin! It was very clean, spacious and the kids loved the theater room! Will definitely stay again!
A guest from Baldwin, MS recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2010 I do wish we had had a phone. Our cell phones would not work and we had no land line to "fall back on" if needed during an emergency.
This was my second year in a row visiting Elk Springs Resort and I LOVE IT111111
Marquita P. from Memphis, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2010 I will be visiting again and again. The view from our cabin was spectacular!I'm thinking about having my family reunion there. I recommend you take your spouse and enjoy a romantic getaway at the SECRET GARDEN or take the family and enjoy the HILLTOP HIDEAWAY. Also there's so many things to do. We visited the aquarium of the Smokies and took a scenic helicopter ride. The go cars are fun also and you don't break your pocket to do all of this. The cabin was a main attraction as well with all the amenities it comes with like the movie theater, the sauna was awesome and so much more that you want to hurry up and get back to it when you do get out. Please experience it just once and I promise you will go back....
A guest from Ironton, MO recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2010 Our family had such a great week in the beautiful Smoky Mountains. We enjoyed our stay very much at Elks Springs and will recommend it to our friends.
A guest from Ashburn, VA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2010 We had a great stay at the Hilltop Hideaway with a couple of minor hiccups - One of the decorative wall boards was loose and fell not far away from our 11 month old. Luckily o one was injured. The deck was pretty dirty and needed a good scrub or power wash.Wish the management invests a couple of more dollars on better soap and keep some shower caps in the the bathroom. If these are taken care of, tis place would be wonderful. The location is beautiful and not too far from downtown Gatlinburg. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. I would recommend this place to anyone and hope management considers my suggestions for improvement.
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals We;ve gone ahead and secured the picture and cleaned the decks. They did get a little dusty this spring.
Linda B. from Acworth, GA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 5 days in May, 2010 This cabin was ok... it was a bit dusty and had lots of bugs both living and dead, especially on the lower level. I had to clean out the washer and dryer prior to using because someone had left a tremendous amount of pet hair in both. I litterally had to run two empty wash loads then wipe down the inside before we could use. The same with the dryer. This problem was raised with Kim at the office.
The very BEST place to get away and forget the day to day grind!
Patricia P. from Cincinnati, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in May, 2010 Hello, We had such a GREAT time at The Lodge, It was so, so, very hard to leave. The cabins had every thing a person could want. It was hard to have to pack up and go. We WILL be back, and we told everyone we know about our stay. The only thing I warn them about is, You Will NOT want to leave. I want to thank you for having us as your guest, and look forward to coming back ( a little longer next time!) Please thank Jeff, he was right on top of everthing. Again many, many thanks to everyone. :-)
Michael A. from Mufreesboro, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2010 The 10 am checkout for Sunday checkouts is too early to really enjoy a Fri/Sat nite stay to its fullest, and the theatre room was freezing because its on the bottom floor and gets zero heat. I would recommend a room heater for that. Bed in upstairs collapsed the first nite within 5 mins of our daughter and son-in-law laying down, and yet we still had a blast, and would absolutely stay there again because everything else, especially Brandi and her team are first rate.
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals Hi Michael, sorry about some of the problems you experienced. There is heat in the theater room, the vent was probably closed - sorry about that. We do the 10am checkout, which is standard in the area because we have to have the cabin ready for our next check in later that day. Our cleaning crews are pretty thorough and it takes quite a bit of time to get the cabin ready. Should there not be a check in on your day of check out you can always request a late checkout.
Leigh Ann G. from Hixson, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2010 We had the best time and wish we could have stayed a week! We have three boys and they were completely entertained the entire time...we didn't have to leave the cabin to entertain them; they entertained themselves! The home theater was our favorite room. Thank you!
A guest from Knoxville, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2010 Elk Springs is nestled away in the hills within minutes of Gatlinburg's main strip and the state park. We've stayed at several cabins in the area and this is by far the best! The kids had a great time. It was a perfect balance between enjoying the beauty of the mountains and being close to the action.
Leah A. from Irvine, KY recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in January, 2010 The cabin was beautiful and we would definately stay again. We went on a very cold weekend and had problems with the furnace freezing up but when we called about it they immediately had someone up to work on it everytime. Other than this it was a great stay.
Russell L. from Collierville, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in December, 2009 That was a great location. you were not in a packed area and you were very close to everything. That's a very relaxing vacation. The property we stayed in could have used a little bit of grass or something, because there was too much mud. We were worried about tracking it in. Other than that it was awesome!
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals Hi Russell, thanks for staying with us. It's a brand new cabin which is a big plus, but since it's new the grass needs a good spring to come in. We've touched it up with gravel and we'll have some nice grass here come the end of spring! Remember, as a repeat visitor you get 10% off your future stay.
Julie M. from Corbin, KY does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2009 Its hard to express our feelings during our stay. The cabin itself was very charming and the ammenities were a plus, especially the theater room. But imagine all of that covered in pet hair(although the cabin was listed as a "no pets"cabin),to the point that it could not be cleaned by the cleaning lady that had to be called after we arrived. It was if the entire cabin hadn't been cleaned, aside from the garbage being taken out and was left in front of the door for us when we arrived. Thankfully we always bring clorox wipes just just to be safe. So what should have been a relaxing get away, turned into a dirty, uncomfortable weekend that started with cleaning the entire cabin and washing all the sheets. As pretty as it was, it was not worth the rate offered. We will not stay with Elk Springs again as their cleanliness is severely lacking and you can't expect to get what you pay for.
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals Hi Julie, we did have a guest who refused to leave the property that day and if you recall we did request to do a more thorough clean on this cabin, however, your party was insistent that you check in early. Given 2-3 more hours we would have had this cabin back in tip top condition. This cabin would have been ready at our 3pm check in time.
A guest from Cincinnati, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2009 Cabin was spotless and very nice. The only problem was the driveway, which was gravel, straight up a hill, and the parking area was partly washed away. Don't go if you don't have 4 wheel drive. Once this cabin has a decent parking area it will be much nicer.
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals We've redone the driveway and it's easily accessible by even motorcycles!
Richard C. from Batesville, Mississippi recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in November, 2009 I have stayed in different cabin rentals around the Smokies over the past 10 years and this is the best place I have stayed. This was a great cabin with a great location and I will definitely stay here the next time I come to the Smokies!
A guest from Kingsport, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in October, 2009 With all that gatlinburg has to offer many of our days were spent at Hilltop Hideaway. Our family loved the home theater, sauna and the hot tub. All the convience of home but without the distractions!
Stacey H. from Lakeland, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2009 I LOVED TN. Never been, but would go back. Didn't really like the very winding roads. Actually had a black bear come right into our yard. It was so cool. We were close to a lot of things. Would recommend checking out Cade's Cove. Awesome scenery. I would stay at this resort again, but I wish it was just a little closer to town. Other than that, it was a pretty cabin, and my family and I really liked it.
