This place was the exact fit. Great stone fireplace and wood all ready split and stacked for burning. A few movies and a full kitchen, not to mention a bubbling hot tub. A comfortable king bed and even a pool table. Just a 2 mile drive into Gatlinburg for plenty of leg stretching. Just what we hoped it would be! AMR was easy to work with on a last minute booking. Our experience with Log Heaven - Gatlinburg, Tn. A guest from Lewisburg, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2011 The overall condition of the cabin was not all that bad,and we did like it, but it deserved a good cleaning. There was a HUGE nest in the duct work in the living room. We did not examine it too closely, but think that is where the wasps were coming from,since we killed about a dozen of them,(found them right next to the duct). There were black cobwebs in the ceiling and behind the curtains, which you could see from the loft looking down to the level below. There were also dead bugs everywhere. My main concern was that someone who is allergic to bee stings might have an anaphylactic reaction if stung. We ran the dishwasher; however we discovered dishes that had been left there from the previous guests. I thought those were supposed to be put away when the cabin was cleaned after each guest stay. We did actually enjoy our stay though, and hope to do it again someday. A map of the general area showing different roads would be helpful. When a person is not used to traveling narrow mountain roads, alternate routes would be helpful in case you miss your turn and cannot get turned around. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2010 Wanted to open windows for fresh air, as it was mid-October, but the screens were either absent or broken. The window tracks were so full of dead bugs,dirt, cobwebs, etc. that it would have been unhealthy to even open the windows. The headboard, window blinds, furniture were covered with dust and grime. Cobwebs and dust bunnies hung from the cathedral window. Bed linens, while they appeared washed, had stains on them. All this despite renters being required to pay a $50.00 cleaning fee! I was not able to get into the place at time told, as it was not "ready", and when I did arrive an hour later, the floors were so wet there were puddles all over! I thought the toilet had overflowed because there was so much water on floor around the toilet. Floor around tub was very mildewed and the floor was actually rotten through in places along the tub. |

The only suggest I would give is when is comes to the towels. We were told that we would have to bring in the dirty towels each day to get clean ones. I did ask the first day if we could get extra so as we wouldn't have to make that trip each day and the gentleman was very nice and gave me enough to last for the rest of our stay. The cabin was clean except for all the cobwebs in the high window and I realize it is up high but they do need to be cleaned out. The ice maker in the refrigerator was very convenient in fact the kitchen was set up very nice. I would recommend the cabin to anyone that likes to drive in the mountains and have peace and quiet. Overall our stay was very nice the view was fantastic. We even got to see a black bear one with two cubs. |

For instance, there wasn't a box of tissues in the whole place and with my allergies, it's a must have - I spent a lot of time going to the bathroom for toilet paper until I could buy a box. There were no pot holders at all so cooking in the oven was a chore trying to used folded up towels to get things out. The sheets were way too small for the bed. You barely touched them and they popped off of mattress so not very fun dealing with that. It would also be helpful if the exact location of cabin was conveyed to you and the conditions driving to and from it. I don't have 4-wheel drive so the steep roads were a little challenging at times. The cabin was a delight for my husband and 3 year old son except for these minor things. We enjoyed ourselves immensely! : ) |

Stayed for 3 days in October, 2008 The cabin was organized but we felt missing a few needed items. Only having a bar of soap for body/hands but not basic shampoo/cond. Not having daily towel change by cleaning team was dissapointment. My husband and I did not want to drive to Pigeon Forge because I trip was planned around Gatlinburg. We also thought having to run dishwasher and throw away trash prior to leaving was also disappointing. We felt like we were not accomidated for...The fireplace was nice but not matches we there to start fire so we had to go to town and get firestarter...I guess I said all that to say that we were not totally disappointed but would not return to cabin in future. |

Stayed for 3 days in September, 2008 The only issues we had were, On the way there we recieve a call 10 minutes before your office closed telling us we would not have any where to stay that night if we could not use a card to pay the final balance. We were about an hour away and this was very upsetting. I had cash and that was all on me. While we were trying to figure out something the lady called us back and said that since we paid a deposit it was fine and we could pick up the key. We were to be back by 10 a.m. No one told my husband there was a shriner parade going on so he was stuck for 2 hours in traffic trying to bring the money by 10. |

Terrible experience, choose a different rental company. A guest from Columbus, OH does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2008 Overall, my wife and I had a terrible experience here. The property had two charcoal grills, however, they were both completely rusted through on the bottom and were unusable. We requested a new grill from the management who promised us one later that evening, but we did not receive one. The following day we returned from hiking in the national park to find the door to our cabin kicked in and some of our property stolen. We filed a police report with the Gatlinburg city police and were told that this sort of thing was very common and that we should never have left any property there, however, the management of the company gave us no such warnings. After this occured, we ended our vacation and went home. The staff at the rental office offered no appology for this and stated that we would have to speak to the mangager Mike McQueen. Mike was not available that day so they took my phone number and said he would call us back promptly. He did not call that day, nor for the next three days when I finally called him back. He refused to give us any refund despite our poor experience and stolen property. Overall, I would recommend you go with a different company. |

It is just large enough to accommodate two people in comfort. The tranquil setting was wonderful and the location of Log Heaven is only minutes away from Gatlinburg. Log Heaven A guest from Marietta, OK recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2008 Log Heaven I think refers to how close to heaven this property is located. It is high and roads very steep. The directions if followed exactly will get you there. The house was neat and everything we needed. There are minimal supplies in the kitchen and we ate in the entire time. There is a spa tub and pool table on the loft - kind of unusual but good for some I guess. We enjoyed the balcony and sat outside a lot. We even saw a momma bear and her cubs from the balcony. It was nice and cool up in the mountains. We had a great visit as our main interest was exploring the mountains and hiking, etc. We have never been to this area before. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. |

The location in relation to the Parkway was great but the description had stated that there were views, which there were not. It was also a difficult cabin to find. The cabin itself was clean, but not as clean as should it have been. There were cobwebs on the lamps and the bathroom floors were discolored. |

The other thing I was dissatisfied with was it was not private. When I asked the lady if it was private she said it was. It wasn't. There were 2 houses across from us and one right on top of us. The house itself was fine if you didn't mind not being private which is what we wanted. Thank-you. |

This cabin was just OK alton b. from fort payne, al. does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2007 Cabin deck in bad need of repairs or replacement. The weight of the hot tub is a major issue in this as the weight has caused the deck to drop and lean. We did not use the hot tub I felt it was unsafe. By the way I am a Licensed Home Builder in Alabama. As for location, it was very hard to find. The sign was not in a good location nor is the cabin. No view to speak of at this cabin unless you want to look at neighboring cabins decks or roofs. We had a good time mainly due to the fact this cabin is pet friendly. It would have been nice if when the cabin was cleaned prior to our arrival they missed dog poop in the family room. |

Structually it seemed safe but it has definatly settled and lookes likes it's slipping over the mountainside. We didn't use the spa like we had planned because we weren't comfortable being out there. Also the property appears just to be old and could probable use some TLC. |

Log Heaven A guest from ELBA, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2007 Log Heaven is a nice place to vacation. The building is well designed. It has a outdoor Hot tub on the deck and a Pool table in the loft area. It also has a Jucuzzi tub in the loft area. The location is fairly secluded. Near the top of the mountain. Travel time to town was quick and there is plenty to do there. I didnt get a chance to check out the pool area which is located at the base of mountain. The only negative I can say of the place is the steep, winding, narrow roads to get there. I was glad to be driving a 4X4 w/ studded tires the day it snowed. Thanks American Mountain Rentals for an enjoyable stay. |
