We have stayed at this cabin 5 times and we love the location. The big screen TV has horrible color and the remote doesn't work. The water pressure is very low. For some reason the owner decided to do yard work the day we were to check in causing us to check in much later than we usually do. The air conditioner/heat didn't work but it was noticed just before we checked in and was fixed shortly after we arrived. There is a musty smell inside that never used to be there. Not enough towels. Only one downstairs. We always have to ask for more. LOVED the addition of wifi. WE would still stay here again even with the problems but fixing some of these would make it much better. Great location and great view.

Since the first of the year we had experienced the loss of 2 brothers unexpectantly. I placed the rental as a get away for my husband over a long weekend. It was a very relaxing and tranquil experience. We relaxed in the hot tub, played pool, soaked in the huge whirlpooltub upstairs, took walks around the loop and ended each evening setting in front of the fireplace. The view of the mountains is 360 degrees if you walk the loop. Thank you for opening your cabin for others to enjoy!

Some of the furniture needs updating. Wooden Chairs are coming apart, large screen tv needs replaced. Fantastic location, layout of home is great. This is our third year in a row that we have stayed here and will do so again. Hot tub, pool table, fireplace, and in the mountains. What more can I say.

Best vacation we had in years. The property was beautiful and the scenery exquisite. Yes, bears were bountiful. We can not wait to return. Do read the other reviews as I found 'bring additional trash bags' extremely helpful. Additional towels came in handy also (kids, swimming, etc.). Wish we could go back in the fall!

Making Memories in a Smoky Mountain Cabin

We loved staying in a cabin during our recent trip to the Smoky Mountain area. We enjoyed coffee on the deck. We loved the hot tub after horse back riding. We enjoyed the pool access, also. The highlight was seeing a bear close up as it crossed right in front of the cabin. We will rent a cabin again. Such a fun experience and very quiet!

Enjoyed view wooded montain. Wonderful parking area. More towels needed in bathrooms. You can get more at office or launder those on hand. Clean kitchen and refrigerator. Shower head could use better spray. House clean. Here is an idea. Have linen packed from cleaners in room. Extra blankets dry cleanned pack for guest not to worry about whether sheets have been changed on beds. They were clean at our arrival and beds made. We still washed them. Nothing against rental company. This is our thing. Even this won't change my mind in renting property again.

After noticing a descrepancy with my reservation, I contacted the office. The clerks took note of my discrepency, and passed the information to there manager (Any response would require the manager's authorization). The manager would not talk to me. I stressed my concern to the clerks and was informed that the manager did not have time to listen to me because he was on vacation. This is completely uneacceptable. It is a manager's responsibility to hear out issues when they arise and make decisions, that is what they are paid for. I was completely dissappointed with his response and forcing me to remain in my situation until Monday at the earliest (checked in on Friday). If you have any issue with your rental, do not expect any response until their 'working' hours.

Nice Cabin and location. The decks were dirty and covered in leaves. The carpet is od and dirty. We had to clean the kitchen and wash everthing. I went there so my wife and her Mother could shop while I watched ballgames. The large TV was so old and the color was so bad I watched it on the 19" tube TV in the bedroom. The furniture was way oversized and in poor shape. The coffee table was so big we could not utilize the space. We were afraid to move it very far in fear it would fall apart. I was not happy we were unable to use the fireplace, it had a note saying it was closed.

First of all, we wouldn't even consider staying anywhere else. It's perfect with location, the way it's built, everything. The lights around the decks leading to the hot tub are out and were also out the last time we stayed there, a year ago. It's hard to see to get to the hot tub or go back in without them. The lights are also out on the porch leading to the entry. The little deck lights being fixed would make this a Five star PLUS. Thank you for letting us rent it.

The cabin Greenleaf was a ok cabin,slightly dated, was clean but there were numerous cobwebs from all corners upper and lower levels. Eating utensils very cheap and pots and pans not in the best condition, kitchen very small and cumbersome but for two days could make do would not want to stay a week. Two pool cues in very bad shape and warped family of four hard to play. Have rented many cabins and timeshares and this was the worst just so so. would not rent this one ever again but had no problem with American Mountain rentals would just be more selective next time pictures do not show how dated and maybe some one looking for less detail would be happy. not bad but not a 5 about a 3.

Last fall we stayed in another chalet and was very very pleased. I was disappointed in the condition of Greenleaf. The shower curtain was moldy, what 'sharp' kitchen knives that were available were either bent or so dull that preparing a meal was almost impossible. Having a hot tub myself, the yellowish color of the water in this hot tub kept us from using it at all which would have been a great welcome after hiking 14miles up Mt. Leconte. The cleaning staff doesn't seem to see many of the cobwebs within the unit. Outside is okay, but honestly....inside?

Had a wonderful experience at Green Leaf. The house is pet friendly which was nice, and the house was in very good condition considering the pet friendly status. It was very clean. We enjoyed the fireplace and the hot tub. The views from the house are mostly of the woods, but that was fine with us since our dogs enjoyed walks through the woods. We will definitely rent this property again and would recommend it to others.

Did not like location of first cabin. Rentalco. gave us new cabin with no difficulty but this cabin was old and dirty. Dead bugs in housand reported it. Manager checked and we were Assured we would not see live ones but we did.no dutpan - Had to buy light bulbs. Dishwasher did not work. Have rented about 10-12 times. First bad one. This house needs total update or there will be more unhappy visitors. Managment should check condition of cabins and require owners to update or not rent them.

SO SO CABIN

Outside appearance was pretty good except for the property needed some cleaning up such as couple diapers on ground, decking needed a good cleaning, and many of the outside lights were burnt out and you couldnt see well outside(which was a safety issue because we saw several bears, some of which were protective mommas with cubs that stood up and roared). On the inside it was a little outdated decor with the 80's colors (lots of pink and teal), older wallpaper in places, some worn out furniture, and carpet in upstairs area looked like it had pet stains all over it. Also description said hardwood floors but they were actually laminate that kinda took away from the cabin feel. We only had about 4 rolls of toilet paper, 1 roll of paper towels and 1 extra trash bag other than what was in the cans. On the plus it was clean smelling when we arrived and pool table was nice. Overall it was a so so experience. We saw several other rental cabins of comparable size etc. in same area that appeared much nicer. Im sure those are a little more but I believe Ill check into those next time we visit.

Very musty odor,filthy carpet, very moldy shower curtain in the upstairs bathroom,some lights in the game room and on the porches were not in working order. Lot needs a little more upkeep prior to guest ariving. Some of the blinds in the upstairs were in disrepair. The coffee table was in dire need of replacement-it was unstable. The carpet realy needs to be replaced, with new carpet or tile or wood flooring. These changes should be made so that we might return and recommend this cabin to future renters.

Too far up the mountain for me. Had my grandkids a large bear came up to the porch scared our 4 year old.Carpet in bedroom had a smell needed cleaning.this might be good location if you did not have small children.

All cookware and knives should be replaced. Bent and dull. Non stick pans are peeling. Carpet is dirty throughout. Needs to be replaced. Broken blinds in the upstairs. Janky coffee maker, tv etc. This property just needs to be cared for. I did not complain when I arrived as we spent very little time in the cabin. But for $200 a night this is not up to the standard it costs. The management seems very prompt about taking care of things. Owner just needs to reinvest some of the profit into care taking.

Recommend checking that light bulbs are all in working order especially outside, or keep a stock of light bulbs handy. There were no instructions for the dishwasher and we could not get the dishwasher to work. The iron was cracked and water leaked out, so ironing clothes was challenging. We loved the outdoor hottub and the lay out of the cabin was great too. The stove top elements were not clean, but greasy and had dirt from previous users. We did not use the oven at all so can't comment on its cleanliness. We would not choose this property again, but would choose another property on that mountain, it was beautiful view, etc. The cabin floors were clean, the bedding nicely made up and clean towels, so the surface clean had been completed and it was nice to enter a clean place.

The house was very clean and the pool table and decks were great. The couches are quite uncomfortable and the TV's are awful. The knives in the kitchen are very worn as well. And the jacuzzi tub did not work. But we were there to enjoy the mountains and that was what mattered most. The location was great and loved all the decks. Thanks for letting us stay.

Upon waking and looking around the next morning is an account of what was found and the events that occurred:A description of the cottage called Green Leaf in Gatlinburg, TN., arrived at approximately 5:30 PM on August 26th, 2010 after checking in and getting the key information from the office of American Mountain Rentals in Pigeon Forge, TN.First, noticed a very dirty and moldy rug hanging over the outside of the railing of the porch.Inside: above the dining room table, the only designated place to eat was a rather large patch of discoloration that felt damp to the touch, which appeared to correspond with the apartment size washer/dryer located in a closet above on the second floor. Major mold concern about the unit.There were several dust balls that we picked up from corners, easily spotted without looking. There were dead insects around the fireplace not to mention the dust that could easily have been vacuumed up if the cleaning people cleaned the unit at all. The living room has a large television, undusted screen, two sofas that reeked of cat urine. This was supposed to be a pet free unit. There was also dog flea and tick spray in the cabinet. Obviously NOT pet free. A coffee table with an ill fitting (obviously replaced from the original) glass top with food crumbs and clumps of dirt, grime and food products in the areas where the glass obviously did not fit.The place had an over-all moldy smell of age, with magazines that dated back to 1985 and 1993 (there appeared to be none of more recent vintage). These obviously were dust laden with 25 years worth of dust and grime.The dishes in the dish washer were dirty and the counter top in the kitchen had several holes. The stove top was filthy and greasy, upon opening the drawer beneath the oven, there was rusted and food encrusted cook ware including cookie sheets and a muffin tin. There was also a large amount of grease drippings all

Overall a very nice cabin. Only gripe I had was that several of the outside lights on the deck were not working. At least I couldn't figure them out. Which made it very difficult to get to the hot tub, since it was pitch black outside. But overall a very pleasant getaway pad !

The Cleaning Crew needs to do a better job of making sure ALL webs and flies are removed before guests arrive. Other than having to do some cleaning the cabin was beautiful. We'd stay there again. We have already recommended it to our friends and faimly. We'll be back down this year!!!!

We had a great time. Loved the upper patio, very nice place to relax. Great location, the kids were able to go outside and play behind the house and sit on the swing. Property could use updating (appliances and utensils) and needs a major dusting but bathrooms and kitchen were clean. Overall a very nice place for the money. I would stay here again.

My wife and I had been to the Gatlinburg area several times in the patt. This was the first time that we had rented a cabin. This experience was fanttastic!! Green Leaf was more than we had expected. It was a beautiful home and the surroundings were great. American Mountain Rentals was so easy to work with. I recommend both very highly. There is something about being in the hot tub in the Smoky Mountains and then going inside and lounging around the fireplace. In our week there, the TV was never on.

The cabin was very clean and had almost everything that we needed. The only thing that I had a complaint about was that there were only 3 dish clothes in the kitchen and there was no lid for the crock pot so I was unable to use it. I would recommend this cabin to friends and family and the mountain view was wonderful.

Overall, I enjoyed the cabin, however, I have to say the sheets did not fit the kingsize bed upstairs. They barely fit over the corners and when you woke in the morning, the sheets were undone and the mattress was exposed. I think you should bump up the quality of the towels - if someone steals them then charge them with the cost.

It's not always easy to find a nice place to stay that is also pet-friendly. We were pleased to find accommodations that were clean,and also safe for our Shih-Tzu furbaby! We were able to enjoy our sightseeing and shopping without the worry of rushing back to be sure she was safe. We loved the ample space and the private deck of the master suite. We were all very comfortable having everything we needed already provided for our stay! Thank you for making our get-away so pleasant!

Loved the cabin but was located too high up for us. The grill was in a VERY dangerous location next to the driveway. There needs to be a fence for safety between the grill and the porch area. My 82 yr old mother fell 15 ft as she lost her balance at the edge next to the grill. Fortunately she only had some major cuts. Please look into making that area more safe.

We had such a nice and comfortable time on our stay. The beds were very comfortable and the hot tub clean and inviting! It seemed like everything we needed was there. Road going to the cabin is dangerous. My youngest son was very scared each time we went up. The map we were given to find the cabin wasn't very clear. We had a difficult time locating it. The trees need to be trimmed back. We could not use the grill because tree limbs were almost on top of the grill. The chairs on the 2nd floor deck were in bad shape. They need to be replaced. Also the ceiling in the dining room has a big water spot and discoloration. The view was great and enjoyed the quiet. Was shocked at the amount of traffic in that area. The congestion getting around the towns was not enjoyable. Not sure how soon I would come back because of that. People were very nice though. Thanks for allowing this review.

We stayed in Greenleaf. This cabin was amazing. It was very clean both inside and out. The kitchen was very impressive, it had everything you could need. My husband and I really enjoyed the location of the cabin, it has very secluded areas and it's also very close to all the fun of both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. We were able to relax in the cabin and at the drop of a dime leave for the amazing fun that both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge have to offer. We had so much fun and were so relaxed that it was very hard for us to leave. We can't wait to go back. We have already planned to return in May!

The place was awesome! Besides a wobbly coffee table with a glass top clearly not designed for it and (expectedly) cheap, sandpaper like toilet paper, I'm not sure we could've done much better. Great location, great furnishings... GREAT! If there was one aspect of the entire experience that was slightly less than desirable, it was dealing with the check-in staff. A general lack of friendliness best describes my encounter with them, though I hope others could attest differently. I WOULD definitely go back... next week if I could!

Green Leaf was a golden start to fall. It's location in Chalet Village was almost perfection. It's seclusion from too close neighbors was great, but it would have been perfect if its vista was more expansive. However, short walks made that a non-issue. It's flow inside is a bit choppy, but open enough to allow conversation from almost all rooms, upstairs or down. One big fault to those who aspire to becoming the next "Minnesota Fats" - one corner of the pool table is too close to the windows for acceptable shooting. The location is great also. Drive down the Gatlinburg bypass and you're in the Smokys in 15 minutes. Take the trolley at the bottom of the mountain and for 50 cents, you save a bundle on parking in Gatlinburg as well. Great deal! If we get back this way again, Green Leaf will be at the top of our list.

The bed was rock hard...VERY uncomfortable! Spa had ants, and swing had sap which got on clothing. They need to provide spare garbage bags, and the maid has nerve asking for a tip without providing any daily service. we arrived 15 minuates before 3pm at the cabin. The cleaning crew were no where near finished, which I realize we were 15 minuates early. They rushed through and the floor was still wet and dried dirty looking. The ash can had been turned over by a bear per the gentleman who was cleaning. They left without cleaning up the mess. My dog was on a leash and the cleaning guy came up behind us and startled us. The chihuahua groweled from the startle and he threaten to kick him. The location was fabulous and the cabin was a cute as a button. We absoulelty wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!Would stay again.

We needed a getaway, and of course, so did Buster, our cocker spaniel. It is getting harder and harder to travel with your pets, so I was happy to see that we could bring Buster with us.
The cottage's location was fine. Nice view, but still close to the city. Semi Private. There were neighbors, but we never saw them.
We like the mountains and the area, so we will be back.

The kitchen had roaches. Apparently the firewood contained bugs which were carried into the chalet.

The chalet itself was wonderful and I'd recommend it to anyone if the roach problem was alleviated. We especially liked the 'pet friendly' environment but the odor from previous pet stays permeated the air when we first arrived. We cured that with a Lysol aerosol. Perhaps your cleaning crew could do the same prior to new guests arriving.

Had the roaches and original odor not existed I'd say our visit would have had an 'excellent' rating.

The view from the cabin was exceptional. I loved the fact that at like 2 a.m. we could hear and see a bear outside. It just walked around and then went back into the woods. The cabin had so many outside decks to sit on it was never more than a few feet to get outside. The rental place overall was very friendly and extremely helpful.
