This magnificent beachfront home sits on the edge of the Pacific Ocean in beautiful North County San Diego. From the rooftop deck, enjoy breathtaking 360-degree views of the ocean to the west, and mountains to the east, as you relax in your private rooftop spa. When this home was built, it was noted in several home magazines, and is considered our 'flagship' rental. The views are striking. You walk into a large and open kitchen, living/dining and family room. Plenty of living space! Off of this great-room there is a large oceanfront patio, with patio furniture and barbecue. Beach access is directly adjacent to the south side of the home. You will not want to leave!
This home is located in the quaint beach town of Leucadia, Encinitas. It's just a short walk to Coast Hwy where you'll find unique boutiques, mouth watering Mexican food, local coffee houses, antique stores, a new and used record store, and so much more! Stroll down a little further on the weekends and stop by the Seaside Bazaar, North County's only flea market. At night, enjoy home cooking in your oceanfront rental, or check out one of the local neighborhood restaurants such as Calypso cafe, a small place serving up great food with local bands playing every night. There are also great San Diego golf courses in close proximity to this home.

We had plenty of room for 8 of us without stepping on each other's toes. We love Encinitas and the surrounding towns. For a nice place the furniture was a bit shabby as was the bedding - ours was ripped. Also could have been cleaner. And talk about immaculate! Even the furniture was brushed! Everything was spotless and super convenient. With their keyless entry system, no need to check in at their office; just go to the house. But a word to the wise: Don't show up early because the locks are programmed to open at the right time based on your key code and check-in/check-out times. Very, very cool! Stayed for 7 days in August, 2012 great location next to surfing beach, so no parking except in your skinny garage (got paint on my car). Nazi-like rules if you: change the thermostat settings $25 fee; if you get into the house before 4:00PM $250 fee; in you leave after 10:00AM $250 etc., etc., etc. Property Manager Response: Response from BeachFront Only Vacation Rentals We have actually started to remove all of the thermostat signs. We had guests coming in and turning up the refridgerator temperature to full blast in attempt to chill their food faster, and this in turn has broken many of our refrigerators, so that was the initial idea behind the fee. It has never actually been enforced, and we are removing those signs. Regarding the early checkin and late checkout, because we are cleaning entire homes, we really do need the entire 6 hour turnover period to get the home ready for the next renters. If this time is cut off by a couple hours, it requires us hiring additional maids and porters to get the home ready faster. The house itself has a spectacular view, and the amenities and location are really great. The house is beautiful and in the good location to get down to the beach. A glass of wine on the rooftop watching the sunset is a must. We comfortably fit a family of 11. Our only complaint was our key code didn't work upon our arrival, and we flew in from Japan with non working cell phones so it was hard to get that situated until the rest of our stateside family arrived with phones. Also, the bedrooms that aren't on the beach front are really hot without having a breeze from the ocean front. All folks in the interior rooms complained of the heat even with fans. The air unit indicated it was a heat only unit so unless we missed something, that was a downside, and why we gave 3 stars since folks were actually sweating at night. The rooms on the ocean front felt fabulous with the breeze. Still recommend for the view alone. |

Family Reunion Vacation A guest from League City, Texas recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2012 There were nine of us at the house ages 8 to 65. The view was fabulous - even the 13 yr old boy posted the view from the roof. The kitchen facilities were perfect and there was plenty of room for everyone in the house. My only complaint would be that the downstairs king rooms could use tile floors instead of carpet if dogs are going to be allowed as guests. We didn't have one with us but could smell the previous dogs. We really appreciated all of the towels that were provided and the laundry facilities. I would recommend this property to anyone. The beach is a bit of a hike but not impossible even for the 64 and 65 yr olds. Oh one more thing it seems the place was built for someone about 7 ft tall so a small step stool would be handy. The house is dated and could use a update of bedding (mattress pad was badly stained) and pillows need updating. It could start your stay better if you had white clean pillows and mattress pads. Sheets have been washed alot also. Televisions need updating and cable needs to be checked for the connection because it was snowy.The kitchen was well equiped but the drawer and cupboard liners again need replacing. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2011 I rented this home for my birthday, as a pre-Thanksgiving celebration with friends. It was such a beautiful, special experience. The property is stunning. The skylights let a lot of light into the kitchen/living/dining room area--we had so much fun making brunch together in the morning, basked in sunlight and watching the glittering ocean. And, for dinner, I made a rack of lamb + appetizers and soup. The kitchen was impressively equipped with the pots, pans and flatware I needed. I truly felt as comfortable as being in my own home...I just had a much much better view with the vacation rental! :) It was also gorgeous watching the sunset from the balcony attached the front room. The Beach access was great--the home is right next to Beacon's Beach in Encinitas. We had fun watching the surfers and watching the dolphins playing in the water. Again, it was a truly special experience and I am very thankful that I had the opportunity to share the home and the experience with my best friends. |

Every one had a wonderful time, the kitchen and seating were great for entertaining, the beach was beatuiful, seagulls and pelicans soaring past our windows all day long. The only recommendation I have for the property is to setup a secure wireless (it went down several times) and gas BBQ grill. It was impossible to shut out the light from downstairs. Our children stayed up later than we did, so it was a bit irritating to deal with. 2)Not enough lighting in living room area. Only 2 lamps and they didn't give off enough light to read or play cards. That meant overhead lights had to be on & that bothered people staying in bedroom with the non-functioning vertical blinds. |

There are decks and windows galore so no matter where you are in the house you've got breathtaking views especially on the rooftop. Enjoyed a relaxing evening in the hot tub on the roof looking at the stars. There are always surfers and dolphins to watch. Our french bulldog absolutely loved laying on the sun warmed decks watching the sea birds. We'll definitely come stay again. The only additional useful information I wish we had prior to arriving was a view of the actual trail used to get down to the beach. We were not aware of the trail length/steepness, and would not have brought a wagon along to help with carrying items to the beach. The trail would not have detoured us from the property but would have been useful to help in preparing for our treck to the beach since we had several toddler aged children and lots of stuff...... I wanted to fly in our house keeper to clean it for us. The bathroom off of the kitchen area where the laundry room was had a horrible order My son cleaned it for me and what he got up would make one ill. Then one must worry are the beds clean etc. My 15month old granddaughter socks were filthy from running around on the floors an hour after we arrived. I realize that slate can be difficult to clean but someone needs to check on the cleaning crew. The people that manage the rental were very professional and extremely helpful. I should have brought this to their attention but as I said, my son cleaned that bathroom and we got on with our vacation. You have a lovely place and I would hate for it not to be taken care of properly. Regards, Vivian P.S. you need another set of pans in there for cooking. We were unable to use the room to get ready for a wedding rehersal dinner -- a great inconvenience to all concerned. Building maintenance were helpful in resolving the problem but it took !30 minutes with 10 very unhappy people waiting to get inside.
