Stayed for 11 days in October, 2012 We have been regulars at the Hololani over the past 5 years and we have always loved staying there. This year we were disappointed to find that their wireless connections were virtually non-existent. In the past connections have been very good but this time we couldn't connect to our email and all other connections were slow to dead. We mentioned this to the manager and she said that they were having issues with connectivity in Building A and were going to "fix" it, hopefully that day. Never happened. Unless this gets back to what it used to be, we are unlikely to stay there again. |

All units are right on the water with beautiful views of Molokai and Lanai. May be a bit too quiet for young adults but if all you're looking for is sun and being lazy it works for everyone. The only down-side is the slow drive to get to/from the west side of Maui but after a few days of aloha, who cares! |

Unit A402 has excellent accomodations for family; very nicely and comfortably furnished, including kitchenware (also had 4 beach towels, binoculars and small cooler for use!). No airconditioning, but cross breezes provided nice cooling, especially in front bedroom; lots of fans throughout unit. Beautiful view of ocean. Pool was not as small as image on website seemed; very warm. Saw turtles off balcony but not while snorkeling, but fun just to be snorkeling! Convience store across road with very good prices for knick-knacks, etc. Family didnot want to move on! Marcia was very friendly and provided good ideas for local area. |

The location is beautiful, quiet and out of the main stream. The pool & beach is one of the very best. The ONLY negative was our unit did not have a dish drainer, good wine cork screw and some of the cabinets need a cleaning on the outside. I almost hate to say how much we like the Hololani because more people will find out what a gem this is and it will be harder to book. Marcia is great and very helpful. Teenagers/young adults may find it too low key. We will be back. |

Both speed and download were missing!When a guest stays 10 days, one expects the courtesy of being able to print boarding passes!The assigned parking spot next to a wall was not acceptable. One cannot swing wide just a lot of back and forth movements with a person standing outside to direct you. That next to a wall spot should be wider.There was construction work being done on a unit close by which made the whining/grinding sounds not pleasant to listen to while one is trying to enjoy a vacation. |

Home away from Home - the best in Maui Barbara T. from Scotts Mills, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in November, 2008 I'm almost afraid to say how wonderful the Hololani was because then everyone will want to stay there and it will be more difficult to book the next time we visit Maui. We have other favorite places on other islands, but this has all of those beat! It's away from all the other bigger resorts so for us that's the way we like it - more low key, more local, more of everything. It's probably not a place for someone who wants a little more action (entertainment, parties, etc) but if you like quiet and tranquility then it doesn't get any better than this. |
