It has many amentities that we did not have in other rentals that we stayed in. Pool table, darts, hot tub and ping pong to just name a few. Highly recommend it. |

Stayed for 6 days in July, 2011 Two complaints: The TV/Cable wasn't working, and there was not any outdoor furniture to enjoy meals or lounge out on the deck. Otherwise, a great home!! too many problems A guest from Oakland, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in December, 2010 The house was large and cute, but we had so many problems that it really took away from the overall experience. Considering the long list of rules, the fact that we had to bring our own sheets and towels, and the fact that our deposit check was deposited before our stay (which was not mentioned anywhere during the reservation process), we expected that this home would be in top notch condition during our stay. The hot tub - a major draw for us - was filthy, and did not heat properly. Also the refrigerator did not work, and some of our food spoiled. Thankfully, there was snow on the ground to keep our frozen food frozen. It is hard to imagine that the broken fridge was not a known problem, but it seemed to be. The home is a great size for two family groups, but not necessarily for a group of adults. The pool table, dart board, ping pong table, and fireplace were great! Property Manager Response: Response from Big Trees Vacation Rentals This cabin does not provide linens as was noted in the rental contract. What good is a security deposit if the check is not cashed? It was unfortunate that the refrigerator was not working properly for these guests. These are homes and things break when we least expect them too. We do our very best to repair and fix problems such as these, unfortunately this refrigerator could not be repaired. The last 4 groups of guests who stayed at this cabin, prior to these guests, mentioned nothing about the refrigerator or hot tub being a problem? We certainly did not put these guests into this cabin knowing the refrigerator was not working. In regards to the hot tub, unfortunatley with guests departing and then arriving the same day the hot tub needed extra treatment and service before it could be used immediately on their arrival day. There are only a few hours between departing and arriving guests and it does take time for hot tubs to be treated when prior guests have left it in very poor condition. Our staff took several trips to this cabin caring for this hot tub that day. This hot tub is serviced regularly and more frequently with guest use. These owners do a great job upkeeping their cabin. A new refrigerator has recently replaced the sick one and the hot tub is working just fine. These guests were given a nice credit for the refrigerator problem that occurred during their stay. Unfortunately, as we all know, things can break in any home and I feel we did our very best to keep these guests comfortable during their stay and at the very least at making amends for the difficulties that did occur. |

Stayed for 3 days in December, 2010 the hot tub did not work. It was set on a timer and no instructions were available as to how to get it to turn on. I am waiting to hear about ny request for a refund since the hot tub was a big reason we selected this property and I called 2 weeks ahead to be sure it worked since we had the same problem last year. |

Stayed for 3 days in December, 2010 The Peaceful Pines home was spacious enough for 10 people, was in pretty much pristine condition,had a well-tooled kitchen, and with all those windows, had beautiful views of the snow!... I would recommend it! (I will add only 2 negatives we encountered [only reason for not rating 5 stars across on all rankings] which hopefully will have been repaired asap: the phone didn't work properly (did not allow *any* calls out--heaven forbid we would've needed to call 911, etc.), and the 'side by side' refrigerator didn't function properly (the freezer only kept things as cold as a too warm refrigerator, and the refrig barely kept anything cool). Property Manager Response: Response from Big Trees Vacation Rentals Unfortunately with the power outage and recent storm, this cabins phone & refrigerator were not working properly. The phone company was called, but with the multiple phone outages in the area caused by the storm, the fix is not immediate. The refrigerator has been replaced. |

Property Manager Response: Response from Big Trees Vacation Rentals These guests stated the toilet upstairs was not flushing properly during their stay. The toilet was checked and there appears to be no current problem. I am thinking maybe there was a clog that resolved itself. If during your stay any problems occurr we are available by phone even after hours to address the problem. We don't want you to wait until you go home to let us know of any problems. |
