Both Venice Beach and the famous Venice landmark Sharky?s on the Pier are also within walking or biking distance. Enjoy ocean views while dining and take an after-dinner walk along the pier extending into the Gulf of Mexico. In addition, the Harbor Drive house is just a five-minute drive to beautiful Casey Key and the white sands of Nokomis Beach.
The house recently changed ownership and many renovations and upgrades have been completed. Stayed for 28 days in March, 2013 It was good but several plumbing issues caused us to lose some of our enthusiasm for the facility. Last year we enjoyed our stay in 606. The owners have made nice improvements to both sides, however we may not return if the plumbing problem isn't resolved. The laundy/bath issue was a problem for the entire month. Thanks David G. from Ottawa, ON recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2012 This was our first rental at 604 Harbor and we were quite pleased. When we walked in, the place was very clean. We really enjoyed the screened lanai, we sat out there most of the time. Everything worked great in the house. The TV was nice and the internet worked without issue. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked (but bring salt and pepper with you as there is none at the house), and we had no problem with the washer and drier (we were provided with laundry soap). We really enjoyed the proximity to the beach and grocery store. It was nice having a Weber BBQ as well, just throw some charcoal in and go. We had an issue with a dead battery in a smoke alarm. We called to get it replaced and the new battery was installed within the hour. The only issue we had was when we called and asked for a blanket for our son who was sleeping on the sofa bed. I was told the blanket would arrive the next day. It never did. Luckily the weather was nice and warm and our son did not need it. If you have someone sleeping on the sofa bed, I recommend bringing a few extra pillows and maybe a blanket or two. There are however, plenty of linens and towels for the house. Overall we were very satisfied with our experience and will rent again. We especially liked being able to bring our dog with us, she really enjoyed the weather and the dog beach near by. It was close to several beaches, Venice, Golden, Caspersen and Casey Key. However, you should give soecific directions to Golden Beach association access. And, the curb appeal could be spruced up. An outside hose would be great for washing off the beach sand and a clothes line for hanging beach towels. Condo was quiet at night and we enjoyed sitting out on the Lanai. Condo was well equipped. When we arrived there wasn't a grill. We called the office and Kevin Donnelly had one delivered that afternoon and also provided us with a bag of charcoal! We would definitely rent this condo again. Stayed for 7 days in April, 2010 First of all, we were upset that the previous tenant did not separate the items put in the garbage for Trash husband had to hand remove the plastic bottles and cardboard for recycle. The trash can did not have garbage bag so we had to do this ourselves. It had dirty diapers floating in a water filled garbage can! We were pretty upset with that.The description of the condo was misleading in some ways. It said it had deeded access to the beach 4 blocks away. We could not find the access to the beach and it was not 4 blocks! A map or directions from Vacation Rental Pros would have helped.The condo is on a very busy street and it is noisy all day and night.Other than the garbage issue, this place was sufficient to meet our needs since we did not stay at the place during the day..only came home at night to sleep. Stayed for 28 days in January, 2009 The place is in a perfect location and is the perfect size for me. I love the screened in backporch, and that it is one bedroom/bath in my price range. The condo is showing its age... needs updating to look like a Florida location. Gray paint and an outdated kitchen and bath make it dreary. It was clean but needs painting and upgrading. The yard needs attention... I'm hopeful it will get upgraded as I signed up to go back again next year. Dennis (and Steve) were most responsive to my request for a new mattress. I like doing business with them. The place just needs work. This is a wonderful location for those seeking a quiet beautiful community. Charles M. from Parkville, MD recommends this property. Stayed for 29 days in February, 2008 A short walk to the beach, the shops the parks and completly safe...day or night.We liked the screened in lanas and spent a great deal of time there reading and having our meals outside. The exterior was disappointing with very visible black stains on the front brickwork and two trashcans filled with debris and too heavy to move. The landscaping leaves much to be desired. The interior was clean. However, the untensils and cookware were in terrible condition. There wasn't a pot or pan that wasn't deformed. I'm not sure we would return as the property seems to be deteriorating. The local property manager was most helpful when I couldn't access the wireless was corrected in hours.
