DISCUSTING RENTAL UNIT Larry B. from Rochester, MN does not recommend this property. Stayed for 57 days in February, 2013 condition of unit was poor. Smoke alarms not working and had to be replaced. unit dirty. light in kitchen out. remote not programmed in bedroom. outside furniture broken and could not use. windows broken/seal broken-replaced after we complained. There is so much more that is wrong with this unit. Screens were not opening and were fixed but still not in working order. Kitchen faucet needed replacing while were were there. Toilet flusher replaced while were were there. I would be ashamed to charge any rent money for this unit. But we were charged an enormous amount. The rental company did try to work with us and gave us $470.00 dollars back and replaced the couch for our company. I was amazed at how they worked with us after we complained. BUT I BELIEVE THEY SHOULD HAVE CHECKED OUT THE UNIT AND HAD IT CLEAN AND IN WORKING ORDER BEFORE THEY RENTED IT TO US. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION NOT TO HAVE SMOKE ALARMS WORKING.Unit very depressing!!!! Stayed for 3 days in September, 2011 The unit was nice, but slightly dated and had a few minor repair issues: screen door, blinds not closing completly, downstairs bathroom flushed SLOWLY. Decor was beachy and light. Games in upstairs closet were nice touch, we enjoyed Scattagories and Wheel of Fortune. The unit did not appear to have been used recently & was slightly musty; a little Febreeze in the air handler a few times cleared the unit. The bathrooms were not as clean as I would have liked, but nothing offensive. Extra bleach in showers would help. Extra towels, bathroom paper products, and beach chairs would have been nice. The location is wonderful and the overall grounds were well maintained. Sea Place is a family-oriented complex with a courtyard and pool. Rental company was amazing, they were effecient and customer service oriented. We will most assuredly use them again for a rental request. I'd give the unit a 3 star, grounds a 4 star, rental company a 5 star. A lower rental price may have offset the disappointment. Slider doors were jammed which made it difficult to use the deck. In comparison to other rental properties we have stayed at in St. Augustine, this was not worth the price and we will go back to the others we have used. For instance, half only might work, yet the other half does not. Several missing light bulbs....other light fixtures do now work....and we tried exchanging light bulbs too. The wallpaper in the master bath was literally coming off the walls. Water damage on the master bath walls too. The master bath shower head had to be replaced on our first day and the master bedroom has no chairs. The stopper in the sink in the master bath is broken. The upstairs toilet would not refill the bowl properly when flushed, thus requiring 2 flushes. The front door lock was replaced immediately after we arrived. The plastic furniture on the balcony had become brittle and 2 different pieces cracked during our stay. The complex overall is very neat and clean. There were only a few aspect of the furnishing that left a little to be desired. For one the living area furniture was less comfortable for me. Granted I am tall but it was not what I would have selected. Two, several of the kitchen knives had broken handles. This is probably just a case of not being reported. The last thing was the weather. Way below average in temperature, you really need to work on this. Only kidding. Overall it was a great stay and a great area.
