Built in 1878, this beautiful traditional two storey Santorini Mansion is located in the heart of the picturesque village of Megalochori. This is one of two Mansions in our portfolio that was once owned by the most powerful families on the island.
At the turn of the century the first floor would have been occupied by the family with the ground floor serving as the winery and cellar.The Visanto produced was exported to Russia, where it was used by the Russian Orthodox Church for Holy Communion. The Russian Revolution had a big impact on the wealth of families in this once flourishing village.
The original structure has been sensitively renovated, and has been restored to its original splendour, retaining the original layout and traditional features. Mansion 1878 consists of two spacious self-contained units with a shared pool and its tastefully decorated with fine antique pieces of furniture. From the village square a small winding road leads you to the Mansion.
Enter into the large cobbled private courtyard, complete with pool. A stone stairway leads you to the first floor with large terraces and panoramic views of the village. The house consists of a traditional, well equipped kitchen, which leads into the large dining room with original wooden floors and vaulted ceiling, perfect for entertaining. A comfortable lounge adjoins the dining area. The spacious master bedroom is comfortable, bright and airy. A staircase leads to a private landing and second large double bedroom. An attractive bathroom with wood and stone features services both rooms.
The rates quoted are nightly rates with a 3 night minimum in all villas, the rates include:
Transfers - We will meet you at the port or airport and transfer your party to the villa. On your departure date, our transfer company will collect you and transfer you to the port or airport. Kindly advise us of your arrival / departure time, flight number or name of ferry.
Car Rental - One manual car rental is provided for your use whilst on the island. The vehicle provided by our agents is usually a 5 seat hatch back, which is very well suited to the narrow roads of the island. Kindly ensure that you have a valid drivers licence for Greece. Third party insurance & unlimited kilometers are included.
Complimentary Welcome Hamper - consisting of orange juice, mineral water, milk, Greek yoghurt, tea, coffee and eggs are provided on arrival.
Housekeeper - Our housekeeper will service the villa daily. We provide fresh towels every day and linen is changed after every 3rd night.
Concierge Service - Our concierge is available during your stay to add to your enjoyment of the island with suggestions on what to do, where to eat & other hidden treasures of our lovely island.

* Bedroom 03: In the Canava a ground floor "open space" bedroom with double bed sharing a large bathroom with Jacuzzi with bedroom #4.
* Bedroom 04: In the Canava a ground floor bedroom with double bed.
* Bedroom 05: In the Canava a ground floor bedroom with French bed and small ensuite bathroom with separate entrance from the villa patio.
* Dining Room: Both units have formal dining rooms.
* Kitchen: Both units have a well-equipped kitchen with coffee maker, 4 burner electric stove, blender and toaster, although NO dishwasher.
