Bruce E. from Silver Spring, MD recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2016 Our family of 6 was visiting Costa Rica for the first time so we decided to split time between Tamarindo and Arenal. We opted for a rental home in Tamarindo and what a great decision. The home was big and beautiful and enabled us to start our vacation with a relaxing 3 days at the beach. The house was in a great location, half a mile from downtown tamarindo and a to minute walk from the local grocery store. We reed a golf cart to get back and forth to tamarindo and enjoyed the beach and restaurants there. The kids really enjoyed having a pool at the house as well as separate bedrooms. It was also convenient to have the master suite separate from the rest of the bedrooms. We highly recommend this home and would love to return.
Property Manager Response: Response from Tropical Vacations Bruce - thanks so much for leaving this review! We are so happy to hear that you guys had a good stay at Puesta del Sol. It is a great house! We hope to have you back in the future!
A guest from Carbondale, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in January, 2016 We had a nice time at Puesta Del Sol. The house does look like it has been neglected but overall, great location and easy walk to the beaches and Tamarindo.
Property Manager Response: Response from Tropical Vacations We are glad you had nice time at Puesta. The owner of the house is always doing little things to make it better, but we are always thankful for suggestions! Hope to see you again soon.
Wonderful House for Multiple Generation - RPM is Excellent
Andrew C. from Thunder Bay, ON recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in January, 2016 We loved Casa Puesta Sol! It was the perfect layout for traveling with our three month old daughter and both grandmothers. Everything was very clean, in good order, and the pool and grounds were meticulously kept. The hacienda style is wonderful for living in such hot temperatures, and you have the best of Tamarindo a short drive away, but without any of the noise if you don't want it! The Langosta beach is about a five minute walk away and has both nice sandy spots and some interesting volcanic rocks. Dealign with RPM was great, they were responsive and when we had a broken coffee maker and shower head, they had them replaced within an hour. Our only small complaint was that the AC in the master bedroom upstairs didn't work on our last night and we were quite uncomfortable, though had we called I am sure it would have been fixed.Don't let that deter you from booking, it's a great house! Secure parking and garage, large kitchen and living room, and great outdoor space. We are happy we spent five days at Puesta Sol.
Property Manager Response: Response from Tropical Vacations Hi Andrew - thanks so much for the great review of the house and of RPM. We pride ourselves on helping our guests have great vacation and fixing everything we can within our ability! The a/c has been fixed (of course) since your trip and we appreciate your acknowledgement of how quickly we respond to those kinds of things. See you again soon!
Ivannia C. from San Jose, does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2015 The house is very niceBut we had a big problem because there arr watet supply problems in the region and the house had some kind of problem. One day they filled the tank in theMorning, we when out the whole day and when we came back there was no water. We had to move to a different apartment not as big and we lost a ñot of time of out vacation days because of that. Is a shame when you traveled all the way from brasil to Costa Rica
Property Manager Response: Response from Tropical Vacations Thank you for your review. We did experience water shortages throughout the city this summer due to very little to no rain this past year. We tried our best to accommodate our guests by purchasing private water and are also working with the local government to improve the infrastructure for the future.
A guest from Atlanta, GA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2013 Hopefully the next owners will care more about this property than the current ones... I think they've lost interest and it shows. Its up for sale, so if you're considering this house ask if its got new owners and a new lease on life. For the rental price, it should have been tip top. The maintenance on the property is what brought my poor ratings and mediocre review. Upon arrival the pool was dirty - lots of decomposed leaves, dead crabs, and rusty screws. I ended up cleaning it... The downstairs AC unit needed servicing and would not blow cold, the upstairs unit was not properly maintained and poured out water in the early AM hours, soaking everything on the dresser. Both locks on the back doors are completely broken and do not lock. A quick shake and they pop open without a single tool required - not a comfortable feeling when you step out for the day. Considering petty theft is about the only crime committed in CR, you'd think doors that lock would be on the elementary list of "must haves". The poolside bedrooms were very moldy, and even after a day of ventilation were not hospitable. We gave up and closed the doors to avoid the smell. The house is well appointed, and very private. Its why I chose this house and it did deliver in those regards. The management company was very nice, very professional, and easy to deal with. Communication was excellent, and transactions easy. They were fantastic, and I'd guess it is the current owners who have dictated the lack of proper upkeep. If it flips to new owners who get it back up to par, I'd recommend it, otherwise keep it as a second choice.
Property Manager Response: Response from Tropical Vacations Hi Bret, I'm sorry to hear your stay at Puesta was anything but great. We are working with the owners to get the house into great condition. They have fixed the doors, re-done lots of woodwork and we are in the process of working on other items as well. We hope you come back and stay with us again! Carolyn, RPM Services
A guest from Santa Ana, SJ recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in January, 2013 You should spray for bugs. TV was inadequately sized. Seemed less decorated than other rentals nearby, so wasn't as homey.
A guest from Augusta, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2012 Kitchen very well appointed. Property felt safe and secure. Pool well maintained. Would be nice to have some sort of radio to listen to. Written instructions for the safe would be helpful. Furniture a bit worn and some stains on rugs. The guest buzzer didn't seem to be working. We missed a visit from a friend because of this. Great location, very quiet and short walk to beach. Nearby restaurants are wonderful, and RPM staff was pleasant, efficient, and very helpful.
Rennee S. from Davenport, IA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in February, 2012 All in all I was a bit disappointed with this property. The negatives:The property was a bit smaller in the lower level living space that the pictures indicates. The house needs a a new interior paint job as the walls are plaster and show wear and tear. Several pieces of the furniture were soiled along the edges and looked worn. The rugs that were on the floor had stain marks on them and looked like they should be cleaned or replaced. The duvet in the upstairs master suite had some questionable stains on it.It was very dusty and windy during our trip so we were constantly cleaning the pool area. The pool guy did a great job when he was there but most of the wind made keeping the pool clean impossible. We were unable to use the garage to store the car and had trouble with the gate opening and closing until the last two days. The location of the two lower bedrooms were a bit odd and inconvenient as they had to be entered from the pool area. The positives: The location was perfect for us and we had a rental car so we avoided the 20 minute walk into town. The RPM staff were great to work with. All in all I would not rent this property again but would definitely rent from RPM when we come back to Costa Rica.
Jadvy F. from San Rafael de Heredia, Heredia recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2011 El cloro que utilizan en la piscina es muy fuerte. Me decoloró los highlights que tenia en el cabello y estos me quedaron verdes.....:(
A guest from San Jose, SJ recommends this property.
Giovanni T. from Miami, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in June, 2010 WALLS NEED REPAINTING. CARPETS ARE ALL STAINED. AC WAS BROKEN WHEN WE ARRIVED. INCHES OF DUST EVERYWHERE. HOWEVER, WHEN MANAGER WAS CONTACTED, A GROUP OF MAIDS ARRIVED AND FIXED JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING.
Audrey D. from Danville, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in April, 2009 Loved the house, spacious with open feeling, very private, pool was a great addition. 2 bdrms accessible from backyard only. The walk to town by beach is 30-40 min. Walking on the road was too dusty and hot to even consider. Uncomfortable drive too, roads not paved and very pitted. The beach access to Playa Langosta is easy to get to, but large rocks and limited swimming area. Just north is better for swimming and surfing at Playa Tamarindo.
Shawn B. from Chapel Hill, NC recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in March, 2009 Wish the pool had been a bit cleaner, you had to skim it every hour or so because the pump doesn't run very often. Mmaintenance shouldn't come in the middle of the afternoon to clean it, when there are only a few hours of sunlight left. Also, they should schedule housekeeping. Twice we had people try to open bedroom doors because we didn't know when they were coming to clean. Otherwise, no complaints. The house was gorgeous, very well-furnished and clean. A few ants, but it's Costa Rica, what do you expect?
A guest from Snellville, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in October, 2008 There were some small leaks in a hard rain. Some of the roof tiles need to be replaced. There were no disappointments in the way the house looked. It was better than the pictures.
Shirley C. from Juapeles Center, Limon recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2008 We only had stay for a few nights but we had a really good time, the place was great and we enjoyed every minute of our quick gateway. Greatly recommended!
Eric W. from La Mesa, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in July, 2008 The house was very tastefully decorated and was constructed with very high end materials. The design was very conducive to keeping the family together in common areas. The kitchen, living room and dining room all being one large room kept us all involved in the cooking and relaxing. The staff at RPM was very helpful and friendly. They had great insight and gave you advise from the "locals" point of view which was what we were looking for. Thank you guys for contributing to our great vacation.
A guest from Belle Harbor, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 12 days in April, 2008 our stay at puseta del sol waas very nice. the olny issue we had was that the phone did not make outgoing long distance call, not even on a phone card, or collect. this was very frustrationg and the mamangment could not help us. other than that overall it was a great time.
Reviewed by: Watkins H. recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in December, 2007 My 18 year old son, a friend of his and his friend's dad and I made this venture. The 4 of us had never traveled together and were looking for a real guys adventure. Between the excellent tuna fishing the first trip out and my son hooking up with a 350 LB. Marlin on the second trip, we couldn't have been more pleased. In addition, we experienced a rodeo, like no other, with beer in hand spectators in the bull ring harassing the bulls! There are plenty of activities in Tamarindo, so go enjoy yourself.
