Jorge C. from Danville, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2016 Overall the cabin was nice and in great location. Bedding and flooring was not "the cleanest" as experienced in other cabin's in the area.
Joseph R. from Granada Hills, California recommends this property. Stayed for 11 days in June, 2016 I absolutely loved the cabin. It was like going back in time. Very cozy mountain-man feeling to it. I hope I can stay there again some time. My compliments to the owners who have kept the place up beautifully and kept it very original. Everything one could need is there. Thank you so much!!!
A guest from dixon, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2016 This cabin rental was very nice, it could have been better if they would provide outside chairs and table for the deck and screens for the Windows, overall a very good stay
Derek C. from Petaluma, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in March, 2016 We regularly rent houses in West Lake Tahoe and this was by far the least suited house we've ever stayed in. It is in dramatic need up serious updates. The entire house is very poorly lighted, the oven did not work properly, their was a musty smell in the entire house, the upstairs loft area didn't have any window coverings and the stairs were inappropriate for small children.
A guest from Singer Island, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in February, 2016 The cabin hit my three main necessities: 3 BR, 2 BA, and a hot tub. Beds could use a mattress topper or a better mattress, but overall, they were fine. The kitchen proved to have our biggest issues. A LOT of the items in the kitchen were broken or non-existent. For example, the bottle opener...had one of the two "arms." The toaster only toasted one side of each piece of bread. The toaster oven was missing a handle. There were no mixing bowls (I bought three and left them there for the next group). There were no tongs (I again bought a pair and left them). The grill worked perfectly, which was lovely. The oven/stove top worked...but it was kind of guess and check for what the actual temperature was. The couches were deeeeelightful. The hot tub was nice...but WAY over chlorinated. We couldn't use the jets without everyone coughing from the chemicals. All in all, I would totally rent the place again (the service from the rental agency was spot on, btw), but someone should go through the cabin once just to kind of see what's there and what's not there. A few upgrades would take the place from good to amazing. Location was PERFECT.
Charlotte B. from San Francisco, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in February, 2016 Wonderful, cozy cabin in a great location. Perfect for what we needed for the weekend. Very close to Homewood Mountain, the lake and main street in Tahoma.
A guest from Petaluma, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2015 When we arrived at the cabin we were impressed to find how charming and cozy it was. I was a little concerned because a few of the reviews were not so great but I thought the cabin was very rustic and had a lot of character. If you are used to staying in extravagant and brand new cabins then I can see how the cabin might not suit you. It's charming and situated in a great location and it's quiet. It was the perfect weekend getaway for me and my fiancée. A few things that were not so great was that the refrigerator never got cold throughout our two night stay and we ended up having to buy a cooler to keep our perishables from spoiling. I addressed that with the property manager and she sent me an email back saying, "The people that stayed the morning you arrived never complained of a problem." This remark was unnecessary a) because I'm fairly certain no one was staying in the cabin before us as the refrigerator appeared to have been plugged in just prior to our arrival and b) because it implied that I was just complaining. An appropriate response would have simply been, "sorry for any inconvenience." Also, the garbage disposal didn't work and so the left side of the sink wouldn't drain. Aside from those few issues, the cabin was great and we really enjoyed our stay. We would love to come back again someday, hopefully with those few problems addressed.
A guest from Boston, MA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in March, 2015 Absolutely lovely experience! The property was exactly what we were looking for. Well maintained and beautiful! The Hot tub was fantastic. The cabin was clean and well equipped with kitchen items and bedding. Great location too! Close enough to Tahoe city and other convenience stores as well as some ski resorts and hiking trails. My girlfriends and I had a lovely time. I definitely recommend this place.
A guest from Newark, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in January, 2015 All went pretty well. Did have a problem with some broken glass and a cracked window from someone putting the BBQ too close to the house. Called it in and they were aware of the problem. Cute, rustic cabin. Fireplace left a little to be desired, house was a little too cluttered with nick knacks. Had a good stay though and it fit my needs for a couple of days.
If you like old rustic home, you will love this place
Lopez M. from Goleta, California does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in October, 2014 Old rustic cabin. The beds were small and hard, linens old and rough. There was no mixing bowl, no blender, no lighter or matches to start fireplace, kitchen cabinet door falling apart, chest in dinning room falling apart with nails exposed, curtins in all rooms old and falling apart. Owners need to invest in making the cabin safe and upgrading the beds, linens. It would also help if there was extra bed linens and towels so we did have to get up at 2am to was before we left. It was a good thing we were out most of the time.
A guest from Capitola, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2014 we rented the cottage for a 4 day wedding. I am sorry to say there was a lot of deferred maintenance, unsecured stairs, broken furniture, etc. Was disappointed in the condition of the cottage. The cottage could be very cute with some upgrades and general maintenance
Andrew K. from San Francisco, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2014 Home came fully included with several sleeping locations, hot tub, lots of parking, and basic essentials like cookware, internet, etc. I would recommend to anyone looking for a nice stay in West Shore
A guest from Mill Valley, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2014 This cabin worked perfectly for our July 4th trip to Tahoe. The house has everything you need for summertime enjoyment in Tahoe; big deck, nice BBQ, hot tub, and perfect location. Within easy walking distance to Chambers beach, and a short car ride to Sunnyside or Tahoe City. The furnishings are not super luxurious and the deck could use some work, but all in all the house has everything one needs to be comfortable. Plus, if you're spending time in Tahoe you should be enjoying the outdoors and spending as little time as possible inside!
Moira G. from Auckland, New Zealand recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in March, 2014 We arrived in a blizzard and were very glad to find this cosy character cottage was our accommodation. It had the warmth of being someone's actual holiday home vs just a business rental property. Very comfortable beds, nice linen. The kitchen was well equipped with quality appliances, glasses, cooking gear etc. Great hot tub. It does not have lake views but the setting amongst the snow covered trees was lovely and neighbours not too close. Would recommend highly and love to come back and stay again.
Bryan H. from Denver, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2011 This property is located in a quiet residential neighborhood of Homewood, CA on the West side of Lake Tahoe. If you are looking for a rustic cabin with updated bathrooms and jacuzzi hot tub, this would be a great choice! It's an 8 mile drive from Tahoe City and a 20 mile drive from South Lake Tahoe so a rental car would be best or bring your own. The cabin is cozy and the jacuzzi is in great condition. Motion sensor lights in the drive way really helped when we arrived late in the evening during a rain storm!
David L. from Andover, Hampshire recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2011 Proper traditional chalet in the woods. Very snug in the chilly evenings and just enough sunshine in the day (summer). No view as you are in the forest but nice and peaceful away from the busy lake road.
A guest from Davis, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2011 We all really enjoyed our stay at this cute, comfortable cabin in Homewood. We were able to ride bikes to Sugar Pine Point Campground which is where we were meeting others at our church retreat. It was quiet, clean, and well-furnished.
Wendy B. from San Jose, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2011 This cabin was more than I expected. I stayed here with my boyfriend for 3 nights while skiing Homewood, which was less than 2 miles away. The cabin is private, has a wonderful hot tub outside, is nicely appointed with cable and wireless access. The beds are very clean and comfortable, and the cabin has a great wood-burning fireplace. I do recommend you bring your own firewood as the firewood was buried in the 6+ feet of snowdrift while we were there! We will definitely be staying here again.
DAVID C. from ALAMEDA, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2011 The Good: Hot Tub, WiFi, LocationThe Bad: Old worn out sheets on beds, Lamps w/o lightbulbs, Needs general TLC and a Thorough cleaning of carpets, curtains, etc.Bottom Line: Decent House, but could be much nicer with some extra TLC and attention to detail.
Lisa H. from Gualala, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in February, 2011 We really loved the woodsy-cabin feel of this home. We are not sheetrock lovers, so this cabin fit the bill. We came during a huge snow storm - it was not easy to maneuver getting out every morning with the snow piling up on our cars and driveway(we learned about the local snow-plow-driveway lady!), but other than that the home is in a great location for skiing at Homewood or other nearby resorts. The hot tub was great, though the first night it was only set to 85 degrees so we had to wait for the 2nd night to use it. After that it was great. Loved the loft room for the kids. Plenty of blankets and the kitchen was well-stocked. The fireplace could use more kindling stocked for the first night - was hard to get a fire going - but once we bought good kindling it was great. Overall a great little cabine and a real jewel!
Christine M. from Lafayette, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in February, 2011 We loved this cabin, and will definitely rent it again! The hot tub was wonderful and the sleeping porch upstairs was our favorite room. The only issue we had was that the Wifi password was not included in the advance literature, or in the notebook at the cabin, so we couldn't connect. There was no one in the office to call over the holiday weekend, so I would encourage the owners to include that information in their materials. Also, make it clear to renters that the TV is for DVDs only. Other than that, it was wonderful!!!
A guest from Moorpark, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2011 I was so excited pulling up to the cabin located in a friendly neighborhood which I am very familiar with. The cabin is located at the bottom of the hill which was very convenient and has a long driveway which fit two large trucks since there is no parking on the streets. Outside was a charcoal bbq and a spa, both of which were utilized and very much appreciated after a long day of skiing. The inside of the cabin was very cute, perfect for a family or getaway with friends (ours was the latter). The inside was also very well maintained, neat, and tidy. The fireplace helped to keep the cabin cozy and warm, the thermostat was not even needed. Space heaters are located in each room which were great for warming up the cabin upon arrival. Each room was warm and inviting. All the beds were comfortable however, I would recommend bringing extra blankets if you will be sleeping the maximum occupancy of eight. It would be great if the owners could invest in an extra down or heavy comforter for folks sleeping on the sofa mattresses. We were provided with small necessities such as dish soap, laundry detergent, toilet paper and etc. All in all, everyone was impressed with the cabin and had a great time! I would recommend this cabin to anyone considering a stay in beautiful Homewood.
A guest from San Jose, 95126 recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2011 We had wonderful experience and great stay. This home was perfect for our stay. Thank you Trent for all your help.
Melannie V. from Studio City, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in May, 2010 Trent was the most helpful and patient person to deal with in the entire process. The property was perfect! The pictures were accurate and we had everything we needed in the kitchen. Perfect location for a quiet getaway from the big city. Great memories! Thank you.
Dan S. from Concord, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in March, 2010 Cabin was very rustic in a wonderful location, but the hot tub never heated up and that was the major selling point of the place.
A guest from San Pablo, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in March, 2010 I thought the reservation process was very smooth. However I was disappointed with the interior of the property. While the bathrooms were clean, the living areas were very dusty and I found food and heavy dust underneath and inside the sofabed. The property was also very cold and when we turned on one the space heaters the power went out. Luckily, it was still daylight so we were able to find the fuse box and restore the electricity. We attempted to light a fire but the wood and tinder were so wet that we were unable to do so.
Shane H. from Edmonds, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in December, 2009 Trent, the property manager was always prompt, courteous and a pleasure to deal with. The house is an older vacation home that could best be described as rustic, cozy and imbued with lots of character. The electrical circuits are at capacity and initially we lost power frequently until we learned to balance the load. The instructions for the house need improving such as where to find the circuit box (and spare linen). Despite a few initial problems we had an enjoyable stay.
A guest from San Jose, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 1 days in August, 2009 The place was dirty. The toilet didn't flush. If you closed the bathroom door, you got locked in. Xmas decorations abounded even though it was August. No curtains in one bedroom. Mildrew and dirt all over.
Property Manager Response:
The toilet and the door were remedied immediately. The owners were advised to take down decorations. The cleaning was addressed as well.
A guest from Chico, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2009 Property had a nice wrap around porch, however tere no furniture to sit on the porch. Dusty furniture inside caused allergy problems. All the Christmas decorations up in the cabin in July seemed real wierd-made it uninviting. We would not stay again or recommend this rental.
A guest from San Francisco, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2009 Nice location. Nice kitchen. Well-equipped. Trent who manages the property was very responsive and helpful. Needed a good cleaning. House is cluttered. Phone didn't work. Internet didn't work. Hot-tub smelled mildewed. No gas grill. Bathroom latch was broken.
Jason D. from San Francisco, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2009 The metal trash bins out front were partially full, so our trash filled it up completely and we had to leave a last trash bag in the house. One of the lamps in the downstairs bedroom needs to be screwed together wtih tools... it was unscrewed when we arrived. Otherwise, all went well and we'd love to stay again!
