Spring Getaway at Elk Springs Resort
Lashonda R. from Albemarle, NC recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2016 We loved our stay in the Secret Garden cabin. It was very relaxing and a great place for a couples retreat. The hot tub was amazing and a game of pool is always fun!
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals What a great review, Lashonda! Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to be a part of such a wonderful weekend get-away. We agree, Secret Garden is an exceptional cabin. It is filled with top-notch amenities to enjoy throughout your stay. We hope you will consider making Elk Springs Resort part of a new tradition when visiting Gatlinburg.
Christopher G. from Xenia, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2016 This Cabin had a wonderful view and was spacious and high end. The kitchen and upstairs was completely separate from the bedrooms which was nice. This was very comfortable and I would definitely stay here again.
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals Thank you for your kind review! Our goal is to provide luxury cabins that will spoil you time and again. We are happy to hear that we succeeded. We agree, Secret Garden is an exceptional cabin. We hope you will consider making this an annual event. Come back and see us soon!
John M. from Liberty Township, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in March, 2016 Overall the cabin was extremely nice and clean. The only problem is that it had a major wasp problem. When we arrived we found 5-7 dead wasps laying on the floor inside the cabin and a can of wasp spray on the fireplace. We didn't think too much of it upon arrival. The next day when the air temp started to warm up we noticed approximately 8-10 wasps making their way into the cabin. We killed a couple and asked for the maintenance crew to help mitigate the issue. Within an hour someone arrived to spray the cabin. Overall the cabin was really nice however they need to get the cabin sealed or more frequent inspect mitigation performed.
Shawn M. from Mc Kinney, TX does not recommend this property. Stayed for 6 days in March, 2016 The cabin was Ok 4 out of 10 ****. Beds had stains. Towels were cheap/small. Upstairs windows don't open. Wasp infested, but the Mgmt co. did sent guys out twice to spray RAID...I killed about 20 Wasps a day. Won't stay there again, or any other property. 18 Foot Rain Shower 1 out of 10. Pressure was to low...rain trickle. When it got to you it was cold. Shower Tower smelled like mold. The most uncomfortable couch on the planet...sags in middle. Private.
A guest from Eastlake, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in February, 2016 We really enjoyed our stay. We look forward to coming back in may.Cabin was clean well equipped and private.Loved the drawers in the kitchen.
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals We are happy to hear you enjoyed your visit with us. We hope to keep your visits exceptional with a large selection of cabins to choose from on your future stays.
Andrea D. from Greer, SC recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in February, 2016 My husband and I rented A Secret Garden from Elk Springs Resort to celebrate our fourth wedding anniversary. The cabin, staff, and everything was amazing! We are now spoiled and will only stay with Elk Springs Resort in the future!
A guest from Rutledge, TN does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2016 I planned this some time back, this was our 3rd stay with ElkSprings last visit was Grin and bear it, things went ever so smoothly. This time not so much, we love the hot tub, Infact it's one of the reason we go, the rainbow lookouts hot tub was empty and we had people there until after 7:00 the first night, ended up getting moved because they couldn't fix the tub. Tons of fun moving stuff! I will admit the Secret Garden was beautiful, however the heating is all messed up. Top level is hot bottom was cold. We bought a heater for just our bedroom bc I freeze. After the 5 inches of snow I decided it would be nice to stay an extra night. Since obviously the first day wasn't fun, upon calling the office I had lost my voice and my husband ask if he could explain the situation to Marty (a lady) her reply was NO SHE DIDN'T have time to talk. Rude is an understatement. I had kept the place clean washed the towels, had felt at home just a series of bad luck since it was so cold, that was until she decided to overly rude. Then when I talked to the property owner I'm told he knew nothing about these issues, he wasn't calling me a liar but after 1000 of reservation he had no knowledge of this. We went home, diappointed and in shock. I only get 2 trip a year with my husband, he's gone 5 days a week at work, only home 2 these are our family memories, since the schools were closed the kids were very happy to stay another day but it didn't happen.
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals Thank you for your honest review. We strive to ensure that every stay is exceptional. We sincerely apologize that your experience with us was not up to par. I can assure you the issues you experienced have been addressed. We thank you for bringing these issues to our attention, we truly appreciate the opportunity to improve the quality of service we provide. We hope you will consider another stay with us in the future.
Pete V. from Roanoke, VA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in January, 2016 Great value...very comfortable and fantastic location. We will be back next year...same cabin...Secret Garden!
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals Thank you for the great review, Pete. It sounds like you picked the perfect cabin to enjoy some rest and relaxation for a couple of days! We look forward to your return next year.
Tracy J. from Roxboro, NC recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in December, 2015 It's exactly like the pictures! I loved it and so did my guests. The 8' shower was a little cold but everything was great!
A guest from Ellabell, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in December, 2015 Secret Garden was a beautiful cabin in a nice location. It was stocked with a lot of necessities and was very clean. My only complaint about it was that it was kind of noisy. We had 5 people staying there and every time someone was walking, coughed, or just turned over in their bed, you could hear it. It was like the walls and floors were paper thin. Also, the bed in the master bedroom made so much noise. It would screech from just turning over in it or getting in and out of it. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, but if you're a light sleeper and have multiple people staying there, then it's probably not the cabin for you.
A guest from Chesterfield, MO does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in November, 2015 We stayed with another couple and gave them the Master Bedroom. The second bedroom was TERRIBLE. THE BED WAS 15" OFF THE GROUND and the shelf for the T.V. was positioned next to the side of the bed , so you hit your head frequently. ( We were surprised it would pass code!!) The only bathrooms were down on the bottom level. You could not watch 2 different T.V. shows (upstairs & down) because of the noise level. We did not use the Hot Tub because of the weather but still had to pay the additional $45.cleaning fee. The surroundings were very pretty but this cabin did not fit us at all. (It was recommended when I called by the staff.)
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals John, we appreciate your review. Your feedback is important to us as it helps us to improve our customer service. Our cabins are walked on a regularly scheduled basis by our maintenance staff and checked for safety issues. We have had no previous concerns or complaints regarding the location of the tv, but we will certainly be relocating it based on your suggestion. The hot tub fee is a standard part of your reservation fee regardless of whether you use the hot tub or not. State health regulations require our cleaning staff to drain, sanitize and refill it between every guest. We are sorry that you felt this cabin didn't suit your needs. We have several luxury cabins located in Gatlinburg and the surrounding areas of Pigeon Forge and Sevierville. We would love the opportunity to assist you in booking a cabin more suited for you in the future.
Wesley B. from Fishers, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2015 We had a wonderful time enjoying the cabin for the weekend. The cabin was beautiful. I highly recommend booking this cabin. It's located close to Gatlinburg Main Street but far enough away to enjoy the scenery.
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals Thank you for the 5 star review, Wesley. Elk Springs Resort offers you security and peacefulness without being in the middle of all of the hustle and bustle of downtown. There is so much to see and do in the area, but it is nice to have a beautiful cabin to return to for some down time at the end of the day. We appreciate your business and your feedback.
A guest from Portage, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2015 Very nice cabin!
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals Thank you Brian! We appreciate you letting us know how much you enjoyed your stay at A Secret Garden. We hope you are already planning a return visit and will be taking advantage of your 10% repeat guest discount.
A guest from Nolensville, TN does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2015 The cabin itself was beautiful but it was very hot inside and the air would not go lower than 70. We were happy it was only a two night stay. I feel as if we should be compensated in some way.
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals Thank you Richard! This is a beautiful cabin and I'm sorry that you found it to be a bit uncomfortable inside. The temperature outside has been in the upper 90's and our AC units have been working overtime to keep the cabin temperatures regulated. We have to be cautious about not dropping the temperatures too low or the unit itself could freeze up and stop working altogether. We didn't get any calls from you during your stay telling us that you felt there was an issue. We would have dispatched one of our maintenance guys to come and make sure the unit was functioning perfectly for you. I am sorry you didn't reach out to us to help make your stay more comfortable.
We definitely recommend The Secret Garden Cabin in Elk Springs!
Amy C. from Goshen, Alabama recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in June, 2015 Everything was absolutely AMAZING! Very very clean and very equipped. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back again!
A guest from Huber Heights, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2015 We enjoyed our stay very much! We were only there 2 nights, but I wish we could have stayed longer to take better advantage of the amenities. We really liked that the cabin was down a little driveway, so it felt more private and secluded than those right off the road. The resort reps were incredibly helpful and professional. The hot tub was great, especially since the nights were unseasonably cool. More seating on the lower level would have been nice, as that's where we all wanted to hang out. There were a couple very minor issues (we had trouble getting the fireplace to work; the fridge door ice dispenser was frozen over and therefore not working; we found a couple dead bugs on the windowsills that were missed during cleaning), but overall it was nice, clean, and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.
Colette W. from Tallahassee, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2015 We had a nice time in gatlinburg. The cabin was convenient to everything and it is in a very quiet location. It does need some maintenance as many lightbulbs need to be replaced and a television was not working properly. We called maintenance who brought missing remotes but he couldn't get one of the TVs to work. The bath towels need to be replaced as well. I'm not sure that the hot tub was cleaned prior to our stay because we found a bird at the bottom; hot tub light needs to be replaced. Also, one if the rocking chairs is broken at the base and almost caused someone to be badly injured.
A guest from Hammond, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2015 The view from this cabin was beautiful. I found found the drive through the winding roads leading to the cabin enjoyable. It's location was a very short drive to shopping and attractions. The cabin, inside and out, was spotless! The couches throughout the cabin did look warn, the downstairs refrigerator opened the wrong way, and the foosball table wasn't repaired correctly however. We had a great time and will surely return!
Kevin C. from Indianapolis, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in February, 2015 It was a great experience. The only concern we had was the path to the cabin. For some reason, it is not paved like the rest of the resort. I'm all for turning off the paved road, but that isn't really the theme of this luxury resort. Until they remedy the issue, I would suggest that the main office include the description in the property details. The main office called us on the day of to warn us of the 'road' conditions. We were already on our way and there was no way we could prepare for it on our end. The easiest way this can be fixed is for the property to pave the road.
Michael C. from Loretto, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2015 Everything was great, might fix squeeky beds and need some heat in the shower. Pool sticks need new tips and yall need to get new pool sticks because one was broken.
A guest from Port Saint Lucie, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in November, 2014 We stayed at the Secret Garden cabin. So enjoyable. The property was very clean. Wish there were bigger televisions in the bedrooms, but we were not staying there to watch television. Had a minor issue with one fireplace and the management company responded quickly and sent a very professional man to resolve the problem.
A guest from Union, KY does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2014 We had a weekend away with another couple at the Secret Garden. The cabin was nice, although it was smaller than it appeared in the photos. Our biggest complaint is the issue we had with wireless connectivity. We weren't planning to spend much time using the Internet, but it would have definitely been nice to stream music & search the Internet for things to do without using up our data... though even that was spotty & constantly cut in and out. The Elk Springs staff was friendly & responsive, but the issue was not resolved during our stay.
A guest from Aiken, SC recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2014 The cabin is smaller than the pictures lead you to believe, but for our group it was perfect. A queen size bed is what should really be in second bedroom. The king size doesn't leave much room for suitcases or moving around. That truly is my only complaint. Everything else was perfect. We had a great stay and easy drive to downtown & the park. Loved the hot tub. Would stay there again.
A guest from Plainfield, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2014 We had a wonderful long weekend at the secret garden. Both of us were first timers and gatlinburg and we are already talking about when we can come down again.
We had a great time very nice cabin we would stay again Thank you
Belinda W. from Nashville, Tn. recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in October, 2014 Me and my husband try to get away 2 or 3 times a year we would love to stay here again Very clean check in and check out was very easy. thank you for sharing your cabin with us .My husband turned 50 while we were there had a very quite time just stayed in a lot we relax
Jimmy H. from Bowling Green, KY recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2014 the place was awesome we had our kids kinda hard to sit upstairs or downstairs as a family due to sitting arrangement the views were awesome though
John L. from Butler, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2014 We began our stay in Gatlinburg at a hotel in town. After spending 3 days there, we decided that we needed to move to a more luxurious and peaceful location. Marty at Elk Springs was able to quickly recommend several properties that were available and we chose Secret Garden. This property was everything we wanted: peaceful, luxurious, beautiful, spacious and cozy. There is not a single thing we did not love about this 'cabin' and wished we could have stayed longer. Had we planned from the beginning of our trip to stay here, we would have been better prepared with kitchen supplies/food, but there is a very nice grocery store close by which we took advantage of. We especially loved the "shower tower" and the views of the woods through the many windows. This property is a real treat!
A guest from Waukesha, WI recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2014 Overall had a very nice stay. Would advise to ask questions as cabin picture shows the immediate driveway outside the cabin asphalted but it is actually a long gravel drive. We brought a motorcycle and the location of this cabin was a little challenging but we made it work. Most items were provided, kitchen was well stocked with dishes etc. I did not bring a blowdryer since other cabins and hotels we stay at all provide them. One is not provided in this cabin, so plan to pack one.
Michael F. from Davison, MI recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2014 The interior of the cabin was nicer than we had expected. We were a bit closer to the other cabins than I anticipated but I will definitely be coming back again!
Stephen K. from Bangor, MI recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2014 My husband and I spent a couple nights here for our honeymoon! The cabin was beautiful and we loved that you have your privacy. Definitely would come back!
Adam G. from Powder Springs, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in June, 2014 It was amazing and once we had them touch up the place, it was fantastic! The only other problem we had was the internet was slow, but since we were looking to "unplug" it was fine. Would recommend it and would stay again.
A guest from Liberty Township, Ohio recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in June, 2014 This was our first time staying in the Gatlinburg area. Secret Garden was in a secluded location. Everyone loved the rain shower.
Michael C. from Odessa, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in June, 2014 The check in and out process was very easy. Our cabin was ready early, easy to find and in close proximity to all the activities we did while there. The cabin looked exactly like the pictures and was in great condition. We especially liked "A Secret Garden" because it seemed a little more private than most the other cabins. It is tucked away in it's own spot which allowed our girls to play out front a little. We bought them a bow and arrow and they were able to shoot it into the big "mountain" that was against the driveway. Everything was amazing and we are already planning on coming back for Christmas!
A guest from Reddell, LA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in May, 2014 Stayed in Secret Garden. Cabin is sort of tucked away and not too close to others. Thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet.
A guest from Adrian, MI recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in April, 2014 Nice place to stay. everything was very clean. close to everything and it was quiet. there are cabins all around so you are not totally secluded but it is still nice. most of them are situated so you are not sitting on the deck viewing another cabin, but you can see them.
Brooke N. from Joliet, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2014 We stayed in The Secret Garden. Very nice, just like the photos. Clean! Perfect area once we figured out where we were. Close to the grocery store & shopping fun! My only complaint is my own fault. We only stayed 2 nights & we should have stayed at least 4! The kids cried when we left....this would be a great place for friends to go & hang out together too without children:)
Denise M. from Prairieville, LA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in April, 2014 Our cabin stay with Elk Springs Resort was fantastic. we stayed in Secret Garden and it was more than we expected. It was spotless and had everything we needed. We can not wait to go back and try out another cabin a little higher up lol.
A guest from Charlotte, NC does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in April, 2014 Overall everything was good, the only thing that was awful is the bed in the master bedroom, the mattress specifically. The mattress must be 20 years old as it now has a u-shape instead of being flat. Without the good sleep it is never a great vacation and place for me. We had to sleep under the angle as the sides of the mattress are all the way up and the middle is sunken in, considering we had a toddler who slept with us, we pretty much had to hold on to the side of the bed in order not to roll onto him, since he was in the middle. It was extremely uncomfortable sleep, until the mattress is changed I would not recommend this cabin to anyone.
A guest from Bonne Terre, MO recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in March, 2014 The cabin was very nice! We wanted to stay an additional night or two, but the cabin was already booked. We hated to leave!
A guest from Charleston, SC recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in February, 2014 The property was clean and in good condition. One fireplace did not light but everything else was working. The kitchen is in desperate need of tools and accessories for minimal cooking. We wanted to eat in and the dish ware was inadequate. The pool table was too big for the location but that was a minor issue. Overall it was pleasant.
Ashley D. from Matthews, NC recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in February, 2014 Everything was absolutely perfect! Every staff person I worked with was extremely helpful and checking in and out was so easy. The cabin was amazing, even better than the pictures. We will definitely be back!
A guest from Crystal Springs, MS recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in February, 2014 We would probably stay in this cabin again, but only if the mattress in the master bedroom was replaced. It is broken down in the middle. The shower is great and wifi worked perfectly. I would not advise staying in this cabin during the winter, unless you have four wheel drive. The road to the cabin was impassable during two days of our stay because of ice and snow. Some of the roads in the resort were cleared but the road this cabin is on was not. If you have to call Elk Springs for any reason, you have to leave a message and wait for a return call. This is inconvenient because of spotty cell service in the mountains.
Pictures are magnificent! The reality slightly less
Geoff L. from Greenville, SC does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in February, 2014 The cabin was very pretty and upon first glances, awesome! The reality of the gaming tables right outside the bedroom doors (the tables could only be used if everyone was awake, yhe children werent napping and everyone was in agreement, for noise sake) and the absolute FREEZING cold tower shower (like showering in an igloo) and the openness of the loft (made it freezing downstairs and way to hot upstairs and the fact that the downstairs game area and lounge area fireplace didn't work was a little disappointing. I would not recommend this setup to friends but we had a wonderful time and made the best of it! The fireplace not working was a big disappointment ~ we were in a cabin, in the woods and the fireplace is pretty much a necessity.
A guest from McGaheysville, VA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2014 Had a great time. Accommodations were great. Loved the fact that it was close enough to,Gatlinburg but far enough away to feel relaxing. Only improvements I would make is to have a rug at the doorway to wipe your shoes and have a few games or at least a pack of cards in case of inclement weather. Also, the unit we had only had 4 drinking glasses. Minor things that in no way affected our enjoyment of our stay. Would stay there again
Pete V. from Roanoke, VA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in January, 2014 Second year we have booked with Elk Spring and will continue! Perfect location, well appointed cabins and easy to check in. One recommendation for Secret Garden...replace the downstairs chairs with a sofa!
Bobby A. from Odessa, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in December, 2013 We had a blast again staying with Elk Springs...We stayed at a cozy cabin called Secret Garden.Plenty of room for my two kids, wife and me.We had a few problems because of the snow it had frozen the pipes so we had no water.Called and within 45 minutes someone was there to thaw the pipes out.Very nice and professional guy.He knew what he was doing! This is our 4th time staying with Elk Springs and will continue for years to come!Every cabin we have rented through Elk Springs has been spotless and very well maintained! We are already getting ready to reserve one for next year before there gone.Like everyone else says we wish we had spent more time in the cabin, but being from Florida we don't get much snow so my kids had to live it up outside as much they they could!! keep up the good work Elk Springs and we cant wait to Vacation next year with you!
Leslie L. from Ashville, NC recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2013 We had a last minute chance to take a long weekend trip and didn't want to spend a lot of time driving, we're from Asheville and just wanted to go into the mountains to relax and hike. This is a wonderful place, convenient, well appointed, good roads, close to things you want but still away from everything, I've already recommended to a friend. Thanks, we'll be back!
Rod B. from Katy, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2013 The cabin was fantastic! It was in a secluded part of the neighborhood, very quiet and very tranquil...just what we wanted from this vacation. Can't say enough good things about our experience. The one and only draw back was the driveway leading into the cabin. It was steep, rough and made of gravel...tough to transit on a touring motorcycle.
A guest from Spartanburg, SC recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2013 When we entered the property, looking for our cabin, we were a little worried because most of the ones we passed along the way was really close to each other, in a block of 4. But Secret Garden was not one of them, it was a stand alone cabin. One would have to be careful which cabin to rent if looking for a secluded, private cabin. Probably best to call and ask the customer service, if you could wait FOREVER for someone to answer. But the cabin itself was gorgeous. We'd definitely stay again!!! Longer!!!!
Dee S. from Galena, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2013 Loved staying in our cabin (the Secret Garden)with the only exception being there was no dresser in the main bedroom and the mattress could be replaced, but it was perfect otherwise!
A guest from Newborn, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2013 The cabin was just as shown on the website. Very clean and comfortable. Very secluded and quiet. The hot tub was great! We will be back and next time we will bring the family.
A guest from Sarasota, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2013 The cabin was nice--visually. However, there weren't enough towels for all of us which was a pain. I guess a lot of people bring extra towels but we flew up with carry on luggage so that was not an option. Our sheets were dirty when we arrived and I had to wash them immediately(there were actually clumps of dirt in the bed!) Also, your property advertises that there is a fitness facility and a pool which is the primary reason we chose to stay there. Turns out, those facilities are over a mile away at a community center which was certainly not convenient...and didn't even open until 1pm on Sunday. Finally the seating is strange in this cabin. There is no place for 4 people to sit comfortably to watch tv/movie. If you have to go to Gatlinburg, I suppose this "resort" is one of the nicer ones judging from driving around the area. But keep in mind that this is NOT a resort. It is a property with a bunch of cabins. We will not be back.
A guest from York, SC recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2013 Overall the cabin was beautiful and clean!! Had plenty of space for our family of 4. The only drawbacks that I experienced were that there were no amenities within the neighborhood of Elk Springs, it's a fairly new subdivision but for families I would suggest they put walking trails, community pool or recreation areas my family loves being outdoors and usually we rent properties on streams, which keeps my kids busy the entire time. At Elk Springs the kids really couldn't play outside as the cabin is on a steep slope and there wasn't anything for them to do, so they played inside with fooseball and pool table. Being summer I would rather them outside. Next time we will find a cabin on a stream.
A guest from Abita Springs, LA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in June, 2013 looked just like the pictures, felt fairly private, shower was awesome, saw rabbits and fireflies every night. would stay there again. only complaints are that: only one corner of the grill would light, and we couldn't make phone calls (no cell service, and we could not get a dial tone on the phone in the cabin to call out)
Reviewed by: Sandra C. recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2013 We really enjoyed our stay at the Elk Spring Resort cabin. The accomandations were perfect! The cabin was clean and the furnishing and decorations were beautiful. We loved the view and enjoyed sitting on the porch and listening to the birds. We also appreciated the WIFI,so we could check messages and receive phone calls if we were needed. We enjoyed cooking on the gas grill. It was so nice to cook some meals and be close enough to eat some meals out.We loved the location because it was close to the local merchants with so many handcrafted items to see and purchase. We loved the local people. They were very friendly and inviting. It was nice that downtown Gaitlinburg was close family enjoyed the weekend so much that we would love to visit again. We would also recommend this resort to friends and family. Thanks so much for a great vacation.
Chris K. from Slydell, LA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in December, 2012 In the past I have generally wanted to revisit vacation locations like Florida, Hawaii, or Tennessee. It is rare for myself that the "hotel room" makes me want to come back to the same place for accommodation. Honestly if the entire state was snowed in and we were forced to stay inside the cabin, my trip would have still been great.
Lorra B. from Woodstock, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2012 great time great views nice hot tub outside in the rain, rain shower two story high and amazing water pressure, two fireplaces easy to work just a switch. Driveway on this one a little difficult to back out of, recommend turning around and not backing out.
Ron J. from Atlanta, GA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2012 It is a very nice cabin, however; the lack of a master bathroom was not expected and the master bedroom was cramp with the bathtub and very small bath sink all in the same room. It may be time to replace the bed as it sags, and a larger TV in the master bedroom would be a nice touch.
A guest from Pace, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in September, 2012 Upon entering was extremely pleased and surprised at the size & appearance. Very quiet and secluded area, had to go down a few gravel roads (??) and once in the driveway area it took a bit to orient your vehicle to get out or back UP a gravel incline. We had great weather so the use of the deck & hot tub was enjoyable, no porch covering for the entire outside area of the cabin. The only thing missing was a view from the bedrooms....but, a fabulous rain shower.
A guest from Cartersville, VA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in September, 2012 Wonderful stay. There are a lot of places on the Internet that look good online but look completely different in person. Secluded Garden was not one of these places. What we saw online was what we got. The place was semi private and the cabin itself was great. It was clean and taken care of. Only wish sewers still there. Great stay will be sure to come back. 5+ Stars.
Max D. from Francisco, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2012 Very nice cabin deck could use a little maintence. But overall a good turn around in driveway was in extended cab pickup had to back out but its no big deal for me might be for some though could turn small car around though. Had a good time nice place to stay and relax
A guest from Medina, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2012 I would not even be able to offer suggestions for improvement-- everything was perfect! Check in process was simple, staff was attentive and helpful, and most of all, the property was beautiful and well maintained. We plan to return in the future and would highly recommend Elk Springs to friends and family.
A guest from Peoria, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in July, 2012 Very nice property. In a development and while you pass several nice looking homes to get to the property, you are pretty secluded (at least during summer with leaves on the trees). Pictures are quite representative. Six people (2 kids on pull out sofa) were comfortable. Washer/dryer came in quite handy.Only downside is that there were not a lot of dishes (enough for six but we did dishes after every meal) and hairdryers were not supplied (we have become used to hotels providing them and did not think of bringing one). Neither were real big issues.
Erica D. from Homestead, Florida recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2012 Exceeded our expectations. When we arrived and entered the cabin we all had smiles from ear to ear. The cabin was very comfortable and well maintained. I was a little paranoid about how clean the cabin would be, but I was put at ease after my inspection, the cabin was spotless. Both mattresses in both rooms were quite comfortable, every mornining you had to drag everyone out of bed, including myself. However, the master bedroom mattress still was quite comfortable although the center wasn't quite as firm. Even with this minor imperfection. The overall experience was impressive.
Kevin W. from Lebanon, Ohio does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2012 Me and my family decided to stay at the Secret Garden because of the gorgeous pics on website. The shower tower was amazing but that was it. It was very hot outside at the beginning of July 2012 in the Gatlinburg area. Temps were upper 90's to 100. Inside the cabin at night was 84 degrees. During the day it was up to 86 at its highest inside. We were confined to the bedrooms for any relief. That is not a way to spend your vacation with your family. Called the management and was told that they would send someone to make sure the ac was working properly and that they have had this complaint in the past. Was told to look in closets for plug in fans. I saw them and used them for the first and second night. They did not do any good. Called management after the second night of sweating while we slept and asked if anything was found wrong with the ac? I was told that the ac was working properly. Finally at 6pm on our last night we were being moved to another cabin in the same area. We did appreciate management moving us but at that point it didn't make a difference. I wish they could of moved us earlier or even at reservations let us know that the cabin was hot in the summer especially when they have had complaints in the past with it. Wonderful property but really don't know if I will stay with elk springs again. I paid too much for what we got. My family has stayed at hidden mountain, cabin fever, Jackson mountain homes and some others and this was the first problems we have had. We liked the area and the cabins but could not put up with the heat.
A guest from New Bremen, Ohio recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2012 Keeping in mind that you are staying in the woods...there were a lot of insects in cabin (i.e. wasps, millipedes, flying ants). We do have very high standards for cleanliness, but when you are paying $350 a night we did expect a lot. Shower in master bedroom could have been cleaner. Kitchen table was sticky. Air conditioner could not keep cabin cool during the hottest part of the day. The outdoor temp was 104, but when we went to bed that night the cabin was 86, even though the air conditioner was running non stop. No relief until next day. There were a lot of amenities in this cabin and it was nice and peaceful. Elk Springs staff was very friendly....although we only had a few brief contacts with them. Oh and directions to cabin were wrong. You need to go to 2nd flashing light off of Glades Rd to find Powdermill Dr., not the first as the directions stated. Needless to say, that caused some confusion.
Ross B. from Mandeville, LA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2012 The staff ultimately made things right by switching us to a great cabin, Mountain Laurel and adding a free night. Secret Garden has an inadequate A/C system considering its windows and how they are exposed to the sun. It is wrong to continue to rent this place out when the management knows about the problems and does nothing to fix it. Every day, the temperatures got up to 83 degrees (even though the temperature was set at 70)in the cabin between the hours of 3 and 8 pm. Fix this or don't rent this cabin out to unsuspecting travelers.
A guest from Viera, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in June, 2012 We had a great time when we visited elk spring resort. It wa the perfect family vacation that allowed us to be together 100%.We will be talking about this vacation for a long time.
A guest from Tremont, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2012 This was our 25th wedding anniversary trip. We choose Secret Garden because of the ammenities. We were not disappointed. I think this was the best cabin we have ever stayed in. Everything was wonderful. The cabin was very clean and decorated so nice. The little touches added so much. The people were wonderful and great to deal with. I would definately recommend this company to anyone! Thank you for helping to make our 25th anniversary vacation memorable!
A guest from Cincinnati, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in April, 2012 Cabin was great. It was nice to come back to after sightseeing each day and relax. Would definitely rent a cabin from Elk Springs again.
A guest from Taylorsville, GA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 5 days in February, 2012 Bed was broke and mattress was horrible, mant. had to come and fix the bed very dirty under the bed. pool table sides were loose, sofa upstairs was very uncomfortable, when you sit in it you just slid out in the floor, when we called the office to report it I felt like the person was rude and just really didn't believe us or just didn't want to be bothered with the problems going on. This is why I didn't want to reply to survey. We are not complainers, but we were not happy with the stay nothing like the other times we stayed. I will say the maint. guy did the best he could to fix the situations and we appreicated him for that. So sad because we really have enjoyed elk in the past.
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals Hi Joy, i'm so glad we were able to fix all of these items for you within 2 hours of you reporting these problems. The bedframe was loose and instead of tightening the frame we ended up replacing the parts so it doesn't happen again. Despite these items I'm glad we could fix it so quickly on your first day at the cabin for you while you were out enjoying Gatlinburg! You get 10% off all future stays as you did on this reservation as a repeat visitor!
A guest from Nashville, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in January, 2012 This was our second stay and it is still wonderful. Amazing staff and property. I love where Elk Spring Resort sits off the toad a bit and amongst beautiful property. This our our place to stay everytime we go to Gatlinburg.
Lisa H. from New Port Ritchie, FL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 6 days in December, 2011 Property location and cabin was beautiful! However, the kitchen was filthy ie...appliances were dirty.Kitchen floors were dusty, dirty as well as common areas floors. Areas rugs were dirty. Pull out mattress was so bad, it left mattress springs marks on your back- maintenance was called to ask if they can replace but never heard back. The fireplace pilot went out on main floor. Maintanence Relit pilot. Fireplace in master bedroom was nonfunctional-maintanence waiting for replacement part. Was unable to use during our stay. Very limited supplies and towels offered, so we had to buy our own supplies and was our own towels after a couple of uses. At a cost of $290.00 per night, one would expect better accomodations for their guests.
This cabin was only ok. It is cold at night in the bed rooms.
A guest from Northport, AL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in December, 2011 The house looked nice at first but the first night the upstairs fireplace did not work and the heat went out in the middle of the night. The second night I found a bottle filled with what appeared to be urine in the closet and the upstairs fireplace quit working again. The third night we found out that the fireplace in the master bedroom did not work and that the grill had a stripped knob. Besides these things that seemed to be overlooked by maintenance and the cleaning staff the stay was ok.
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals Hi Daniel, 1 or 2 times a year we have problems with the natural gas provided by the county. It can be dirty. When it happens we have to come in and clean the fireplaces. It really only happens 1 or 2 times per year, if at all, but when it does it is unexpected and we have to come in and clean the safeties on the fireplaces. We're sorry this happend during your stay and it is unlikely to happen again. I am glad we were able to respond quickly when it did happen to resolve the problem.
Rebecca D. from Elton, MD recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in December, 2011 This was our second time staying at Elk Springs Resort, this time we stayed in the Secret Garden cabin. Again we could not have been happier with our stay. The condition and cleanliness of this cabin is first rate. Looking at the picture online it seems almost to good to be true but it's better in person. The kitchen comes equipped with everything you need to cook a great meal. We used the hot tube just about every night and while there are other cabins around you still have the privacy. While there is plenty to do in the area with downtown Gatlinburg, wine trail, golf, hiking and much more you could spend your whole vacation in this cabin and have a great time. I highly recommend this cabin and we will be back to Elk Springs Resort again and again.
A guest from Wake Forest, NC recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in October, 2011 We had a wonderful stay at the Secret Garden! Check-in and check-out were painless, and Elk Springs was even able to accommodate a couple extra nights so we didn't have to leave so soon! The cabin is amazing! It definitely lived up to our expectations! Both bedrooms are cozy. All the furniture is comfortable. The fireplaces were stunning! The hot tubs are nice, and the giant rain shower was definitely a hit! We made full use of the nicely appointed kitchen and loved the big gas grill on the back porch. We thoroughly enjoyed all the cabin's amenities! Our only complaints are that one of the fireplaces stopped working a couple days before we left. This was only a minor inconvenience since we didn't even bother to call maintenance until we were leaving. The second item is that those big beautiful windows leave one feeling a little... exposed... at night since there aren't any curtains or shades on them. Some remote-control shades would be helpful.Nevertheless, we had a fantastic stay, and Elk Springs Resorts helped to make our honeymoon unforgettable!!! Thank you!!!
A guest from Cincinnati, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2011 The unit was beautiful and very clean. The gas fireplaces did not work, which was disappointing. We called maintenance but did not stay there all day so they could call us back, and we were only there two nights. The master bedroom needs a new mattress (sagging). The rain shower was very cool!
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals Hi Joe, we did have a problem with the safety shut offs on the fireplaces. The gas from the county had some residue in it which ended up clogging a lot of our fireplaces. We had to clean and replace many of the units. Unfortunately the units were effected in Secret Garden and we have since received the parts and remedied the problem. We do apologize for the inconvenience. We also addressed and repaired the mattress. thanks again for the comments and we are glad you still enjoyed your stay. It's a great cabin!
A guest from Evans, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2011 This was our first trip to Gatlinburg and being immediately overwhelmed by the myriad of cabins to choose from I went with Elk Springs Resort based off the ratings on Trip Advisor. We were definitely not disappointed. The reservation and check in/out was super easy, no hassle. The resort is close to Gatlinburg and easy to find with the directions that were provided. When we arrived the cabin was in perfect shape, clean and nicely decorated. The pictures are accurate but this cabin is really beautiful in person. We would definitely stay here again or another cabin at this resort...thanks for making this a great trip.
Robert S. from Johnstown, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2011 This was our first trip to Gatlinburg, so we relied on photographs and reviews of the cabins at Elk Springs. We could not have been more happy with our choice. Every cabin looked beautiful and well maintained. The area around the cabins was beautiful as well. It was located conveniently to the art district and Gatlinburg itself. We would not hesitate to stay at Elk Springs again, and will most likely choose the same cabin.
A guest from Pandora, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in August, 2011 My family had a wonderful stay in Tennessee! The cabin was beautiful, clean and well equipped. Very happy customer!!
Joshua C. from Halifax, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in May, 2011 We loved the cabin, it was like coming home on vacation everyday. The pictures on line where exactly what we got when we arrived. We will definetly be back again and Im sure some of our friends will be booking too.
James P. from Lavonia, MI recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2011 My family and I loved our stay at Secret Garden. We loved the lay out of the cabin. The only negitive is the pool table is very close to the windows. Making it a little hard to play pool, but we managed. We would love to stay at the cabin again!!
Daryll M. from Ada, MI does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in April, 2011 Bedding had many strands of long dark hair on it. There was no dresser in the master bedroom,no place to put clothes, there was hardly enough room to put a suitcase on the floor. Amy McGregor
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals Amy, we're sorry you didn't like the cabin. Should you have a housekeeping issue, please call us at our toll free number as we are on site and can resolve these for you very quickly. We are sorry that this happened during your stay.
A guest from Ladson, SC recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in March, 2011 Nice cabin! Only had 2 issues:(1) Not secluded (as we had asked about)(2) Only bathrooms are on bottom floor - old folks (like me) need FAST and EASY access to one!
Sonia G. from Huntley, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in March, 2011 This place is incredible!!!!!!!!!!Cabin was gorgeous, just perfect.Myself, my hubby, my 7 yr old son and my 12 yr old nephew loved this place. I highly recommend it. We only had 2 days here, but as we were driving away , we were all trying to figure out the next time we could get back here. You will be very happy staying here!!!!
A guest from Indianapolis, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in February, 2011 The Secret Garden cabin is just that, secluded and perfect. My wife and I found it perfect for relaxing and a place to throw our stuff in between runs to Gatlinburg. We'll be back very soon!!!
A guest from MacDonough, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in December, 2010 I dont know where to begin. I decided to go to Elk Spring in December in hopes that there would be snow, because it would add to the romance and I had just proposed to my fiancée, she loves the snow. I got what I wished for. Upon our arrival we got about 2/3 the way up the hill you climb to the cabin and lost traction due to ice. A gentlemen that worked for Elk Spring showed up and shoveled ice and hand pushed my truck so we could get turned around. He advised they would have the street cleared later. Upon our second arrival we got even further and saw the same guy pushing a car by hand up the hill he stopped us and advised that we would not be able to stay in our original cabin due to ice, however they had a cabin waiting on us. The following day they called and gave us the option to stay where we were or go to our original cabin which we did. Through out our stay we saw this guy working day and night insuring the streets stayed clear. Both cabins were awesome, the service was great from the time I called to make reservations until we left. This trip was one of the most exciting, unpredictable and romantic trips ever. Highly recommended.
A guest from APO, AE recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in November, 2010 We stayed for a week, during the off season this December. It was a wonderful stay. The cabin was clean and very well kept. The location was private and it provided a great escape for us. I would go back tomorrow, if I didn't have to work!
Dee P. from Nashville, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2010 This place is furnished nice, but if there are more than to people staying, seating becomes a problem. We had to pull in two of the outside rocking chairs for two more seats for the 'living area. Only place there was 4 chairs was at the kitchen table. Did not like 2nd private bath, bed was not very comfortable, dark. THe 'Master suite was lovely. If you want to go, just make sure you have 4 TINY people. Furniture was crowded, not enough space to walk around, AC/Heating regulation problems. We'll never rent that cabin again
Justin F. from Miami, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in October, 2010 Great location, convenience, and amenities. Excellent choice for a weekend getaway for two or full blown family reunion. Enjoyed the cabin in October, beautiful time of year for hiking and walking the trails in the national park. Very nice and accomodating staff. You'll have fun!
Jeff G. from Franklin, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in October, 2010 We stayed at Secret Garden to celebrate our 10-year wedding anniversary. The cabin was luxurious, the view was awesome, and we loved the location near the Artist Colony, a grocery store, and downtown Gatlinburg. We had such a great time that we came back to Elk Springs Resort to stay in a larger cabin with our family at the beginning of 2011.
A guest from Manassas, Virginia recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in August, 2010 I have good news and bad news. First, let me start with the good. The overall stay was above average. The cabin was in mostly great shape, mostly clean, and was a very good choice. The location in reference to where we wanted to visit was excellent. Now, here is the bad news. The rooms were a little smaller than expected; especially the bedroom with the tub. While there was a closet; there was no storage room or chest to put your clothes, etc. The room was a little musty and the shower moldy, and all else was clean. My concern was that my wife is allergic to mold. While it was not perfect it was tolerable for here and overall would give the cabin an above average rating in these areas. Here is the terrible news. Frankly, the marketing department has done a poor job communicating certain areas on the internet. I, like I expect most others, viewed and booked the cabin via the internet. While the pictures are expertly done, as stated above it does not give you a full accounting of the sizes. The most disturbing and poor marketing is that it does not give the cabin?s location in reference to the resort. A picture of the driveway or parking areas would be extremely helpful. The Gatlinburg area is a very popular vacation area and even more importantly a highly rated motorcycling touring area; meaning there are a lots of motorcycle riders either trailering or riding their motorcycles there. In my case, I trailered my motorcycle. After, and only after, I made my reservation; and only just prior to my stay was it stated that the cabin was located down a gravel road. At first mention, I had very little concerns as I expected it to be hard packed. Well, upon my arrival I was surely surprised. Not only was it loose gravel, it was down a steep hill and even further down a gravel driveway to the cabin. There also was very little space for parking a trailer. What was I supposed to do? I could not cancel the reservation, even cal
Linda A. from Wadsworth, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in July, 2010 Overall it was a good experience. Friendly suggestions would be to add more towel racks, add a couple hangers in the closets, and maybe a flashlight for power outages.
Katelyn H. from Carrboro, NC recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2010 We spent the first two nights of our honeymoon in the Secret Garden cabin. When we first drove into the resort property, we were a little worried about our stay. The cabins were fairly close together and we had wanted a little privacy. Luckily, the secret garden isn't right next to other cabins and we had plenty of privacy. The cabin was great and the rain shower is awesome!
Eric B. from Waco, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in July, 2010 My wife and I recently stayed 6 nights in Secret Garden for our honeymoon and loved everything from the rain shower, location, kitchen, pool table, hot tub, etc. Secret Garden seemed to be the most secluded of the cabins at the resort and it was convenient to town while still providing a country feel. Would recommend this propoerty to anyone staying in the smokies!
Anthony W. from Graytown, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in June, 2010 We were extremely pleased with our stay at Elk Springs Resort. The Chalet was wonderful and had many nice features.
David C. from Tampa, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2010 The phone didn't work had to have another phone installed. Both my wife and I hit our head in 2nd bedroom shelf where TV was installed. It is too low and a hazard. I told Manager about this. Other than that I really enjoyed the cabin and the location.
Sheila J. from Trotwood, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2010 The cabin was better than the picture! The furniture was in great conditon and matched the theme of the cabin. Everything we needed was clean and waiting for us! The kitchen was well stock with dishes, pots/pan and clean dish towels. We had only one minor problem with one of the showers, but the overall condition of the property more than made up for that problem. I highly recommend these cabins to anyone who would like to get away! The managers, also checked to make sure we had settled into the cabin. When we wanted to be around a crowd, we found everthing we wanted to do in the Gatlinburg area!
Melissa K. from Lancaster, PA. recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2010 My husband and I chose Gatlinburg/Great Smoky Mountains as our destination to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. After a great deal of research online we chose Elk Springs Resort and Secret Garden for our stay. The pictures posted online for the cabin were very accurate--the cabin was gorgeous. There was zero hassle checking in or out of the cabin. We did not do any cooking while we were there due to our short stay, but the kitchen was fully stocked with dishes etc and a nice gas grill is right outside the front door off of the kitchen. The location of the cabin in relation to Gatlinburg is very conveniently located along the artist's loop south of town with grocery stores, gas stations, banks, restaurants etc very nearby (we were impressed with The Ship restaurant along Glades Rd.). This cabin does not have immediate neighbors on either side and might be the most private you can get within the resort. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet and would sit on the deck at night and listen to the frogs and crickets and get up early to listen to the birds--you will not have traffic noise here at all. We often judge our accommodations by the bathrooms and the bathrooms here were spotless. The jacuzzi tub and hot tub were surprisingly clean (like new) and I could not find a speck of mildew in the rain shower or the shower in the other bathroom--this was a welcome relief! It was really nice to return from hiking or sight-seeing and spend 15 minutes in the hot tub. We would recommend this resort without hesitation to family and friends. We posted links to the resort on Facebook while we were there because we were so impressed and because we had free WiFi which does work up in the mountains! The only thing we would add to the cabin would be a coat rack or hooks for coats and maybe a couple more towel bars in the bathrooms. If you're debating staying here, stop debating and book the cabin--you'll be glad you did! We can't wait to visit again and we'll be stayi
Daniel W. from Nashville, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in May, 2010 My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon and we loved it. The cabin was amazing (especially the shower and jacuzzi) and was everything we ever expected. The location of the resort is not exactly the best in regards to scenic views and access to the Smoky Mountains, but it is still close enough so as not to be a hassle. The property was well-maintained and generally clean. Everything went smoothly regarding check-in/check-out and I would highly recommend this company no matter which cabin you eventually choose. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely stay here again.
A guest from Richmond, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in May, 2010 It was an amazing property and vacation. The only problem was the comforter in the master bedroom was dirty. Other than that I would say that it was the best trip of my life.
A guest from Paducah, KY recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in April, 2010 We had a great stay at Elk Springs Resort in our cabin Secret Garden! Check in and out was really easy! The location and staff were great! It was away from all the traffic but not too far way from everything. The view was really nice! There were cabins fairly close but the cabin felt really secluded. Secret Garden is on its own little gravel road so we didn't have any traffic at our front door. The staff was wonderful! Marty was very helpful in making the reservation. She was very nice! The security man was very nice and helpful as well. He stopped us several times to ask if we needed anything which was great! We talked to Andy once and he was also very helpful. The cabin overall was really beautiful and overall really clean. We loved the openness of the cabin and the wood floors. The kitchen was great and the 18 ft. shower was the best! There was just a few parts that could be cleaner.....The floors were not the cleanest. They looked clean but our socks got really dirty after walking around on them. It wasn't a big deal but they could have been cleaned with a wet swiffer or something. Linens and all were really clean but there were some big stains on the mattress that you could see through the sheet. Again, it was no big deal to us since the sheets were clean, but a mattress cover would be a good idea to cover that up so that you don't have to see it and to protect the mattress from future accidents. There was a couple of bobby pins that were left in the shower from previous guests. The shower also had some big cracks which you may want to fix so that water doesn't get behind the tiles and cause damage. Everything else was perfect! These were minor issues that wasn't a really big deal to us. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend to family and friends. We would love to come back!
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals thank you for the feedback, Nicki. We've professionally cleaned the mattress and put a mattress cover on it. Appreciate the feedback ont he shower. That unit is so popular we finally had 3 days to go in and repair it.
John S. from Mattoon, Illinois does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in April, 2010 what an incredibly bad experience. The cabin would get to 80+ degrees during the day...the air conditioning could not keep up. it was miserable at night. we called 3 times....finally on the 3rd day someone shows up at 10pm (we were in bed) to look at the system....90 minutes later all he really did was change the filter in the system and said he didnt know what else to do. we called and emailed again later with no response. DO NOT STAY AT THIS CABIN OR ANY OTHER MANAGED BY ELK SPRINGS!!!!
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals John, we do apologize for your bad experience. The problem has been and was resolved during your stay, you are not being fair in your comments.
A guest from Apopka, Florida recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2010 Everything about our stay was just what we were expecting. We had a great time. The cabins were a little closer than we were imagining, but we hardly saw anyone while we were there. Clean. Relaxing. Just wish we could have stayed longer! :)
Chris C. from Charleston, WV recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2010 The place was just amazing. So clean, so luxurious, so roomy. The cabin was available early. We met up with another couple staying there around 11pm. we drove down to meet them at McDonalds, and on our way back up the security officer followed us to the cabin to make sure that we knew who was following us. He said they monitor every car that goes in after 11 pm. That made me feel a lot more secure there. One thing about this cabin was the hot tub. We had quite the challenge getting the all jets to work. We never did get the hot tub to work properly, but we also did not call to get it fixed. They would have made sure it was fixed. Stay with Elk Springs Resort, you won't be disappointed. I will be back!!!
Stephanie F. from Booneville, MS recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in March, 2010 We loved the cabin, ammenities and secluded feel of Secret Garden! We will definitely stay in the resort for many years to come!!
Stanley D. from White Pine, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2010 The cabin had issues with hot water. Especially the first two nights. Within 5 minutes of taking a shower, water was cold. The last night we had about 10 minutes of hot water, but still was not up to par. I recommend updating the hot water system to a new style "instant on" system. Why have such a nice shower, but not equip it with right system? A lot of customers pay good money for this cabin because of this amenity (18 ft shower). I stayed at A Desire Fulfilled last year and had zero issues with hot water, and I do believe it has the instant on system.
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals we've added an additional 80 gallon hot water heater to this unit over the weekend. We apologize for the inconvenience and this should never happen again at this cabin. the other similar units do have an instant hot tankless system with unlimited hot water.
Johnathon W. from kATHLEEN, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2010 This place was lovely, perfectly set in an idyllic mountain scene. The fireplaces, pool table, hot tub, decorations and kitchen are top notch and beautiful. We loved it.Our one complaint is that the in-room heart-shaped jacuzzi is unusable. You could get maybe 3 inches of hot water and then that was it. We called maintenance & they told us it just had a 40 gallon water heater, and that was it. I just have a hard time knowing why they've not fixed that or gotten more complaints. Also, one person can barely get a shower longer than 10 minutes before the water runs cold. So the huge tower shower was useless as well. Other than that, we loved it.
Joyce R. from Hickory, KY recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2010 We loved spending time at Secret Gardens. We were very impressed by the cabin. It was spacious, beautiful and clean. We loved being away from all the traffic and being only minutes from downtown Gatalinburg. This was our 34th anniversary and my husband's first time at Gatalinburg and my second (I was 16 the first time). We were just minutes from the national park and enjoyed being able to go hiking up the mountain to see Laurel Falls. We also enjoyed downtown Gatalinburg. We hadn't played pool in a long time and enjoyed the pool table. The cabin was perfect!! We would highly recommend anyone to experience what we did and plan on taking our family back soon.
Mark d. from Nashville, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2009 The cabin is spacious, comfortable and really well situated for us. The thing that really impressed me was the friendly service we got from the maintenance and cleaning crews
A guest from Brentwood, TN does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in December, 2009 When we arrived at the 3 bedroom cabin it had been broken into so we moved to a 2 bedroom cabin. The maintenance guy moved us to the 2 bedroom cabin and said that the property manager would refund the difference. Once the property manager finally contacted us he was VERY RUDE and told us he was not going to refund the difference. He stated that we should have waited out the time for the window to be replaced, the TV's replaced as well as waited on all of the glass being cleaned up. What a joke! The property was graveled and muddy. There were pot holes everywhere. We were so disappointed the way the property manager Andy ran the so called "Resort." We would never recommend this property to anyone...this is not the honest way of treating your customers!
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals Katherine, we have an obligation to our other customers. We are not going to sacrifice service to our other customers for someone only searching for a discount. The original cabin you requested to stay in would have been ready in 20 minutes after your arrival as promised when you arrived early. To accomodate you, we drove you around the property for 1 hour looking at several different units until you chose a 2 bedroom unit, even though you had the option of going back into the original unit you booked. Furthermore, at check out we realized that the guest who met you at the cabin brought 3 dogs with them even though your reservation was originally not for a pet friendly cabin. We spent an extra 2 hours cleaning the cabin removing excessive pet hair. Unfortunately we did have a problem with existing unit and while it was a major job to get ready, we would have had it ready prior to you check in time. In all fairness, when you arrived early we tried extremely hard to keep you happy.
A guest from Oxford, MS recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in December, 2009 Secret Garden was wonderful! The amenities were great and it had everything we needed for our stay. We loved the coziness of the cabin and it was very welcoming as soon as we walked in the door. The place was unbelievably clean. We felt extremely safe. The cabins fairly close (40yds) but we never heard or saw anyone really. Loved the jacuzzi and the fireplaces. We had an amazing time and will definitely be back. Now on to the "room for improvement" part. You will have to back out of the driveway, not that difficult but may be for some. Drive is gravel, I assume for safety reasons during iced roads. Cabin is cozy, but furniture downstairs is too close together. It says it sleeps 6, but we believed more than 2 adults would be crowded. The shower was great!, but the bathtub was lacking. There was only one hot-water heater, and therefore not enough hot water to fill the entire bathtub. Watch your step getting into the cabin on icy days, as the ramp leading to the door gets slippery. I am sure that all sounds like a lot of bad for me giving it 5 stars, but those are all small things when compared to the overall experience in the cabin. The only thing that was really disappointing was not being able to enjoy the bathtub. Again... amazing cabin and place, but there is some minor room for improvement.
A guest from Scott, LA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in November, 2009 It was a beautiful cabin and location. The only negative thing I can say is that the fireplace downstairs was not working properly and we had no working phone in the cabin. Everything else was superior.
Property Manager Response: Response from Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals Hi Roger, we did have a problem with the safety shut off on the fireplace and had a part on order during your stay. it has been fixed as well as the phone.
Shane M. from Lakeland, Georgia recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2009 The bottom floor fireplace was not working upon arrival. The jets in the heart shaped jacuzzi did not work either but that may have been operator error. I expressed my concerns to management and they apologized for any inconvenience and went out of their way to make sure I was a satisfied customer. Would definitely recommend staying at the Elk Springs Resort and I plan on staying with them for many years to come.
A guest from Westerville, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in October, 2009 Elk Springs location makes it easy to get to the National Park, Gatlinburg, or Pigeon Forge. We would definitely return.
A guest from Arnold, MO recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in October, 2009 The "Secret Garden" cabin was just about perfect for myself, my wife, my daughter, and my parents. The 5 of us had a great time in the cabin. I just can't say enough about the convenience (location, fully supplied kitchen, gas fireplaces, gas grill), the entertainment (TVs, DVD Players, pool table, foosball table, hot tub), and the overall condition of the cabin. Not to mention, the 18 foot rain shower that couldn't be beat. The cabin made a great "basecamp" whether you were hitting the National Park, downtown Gatlinburg, or Pidgeon Forge. The location is convenient, yet away from the crowd. It was also nice to be close to the Arts and Crafts District, which we really enjoyed.I can't envision my family staying anywhere else when we come back to the area. ...And we will.
A guest from Trotwood, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2009 My stay at Elk Springs Resort will be forever remembered. I chose this resort based on the pic's from the web-site for my entire family to stay for my wedding. We reserved a total of 7 cabins and all of them were beautiful. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Anything we needed, they provided. All of my guest couldn't stop talking about the GREAT time they had. We are all planning trips for next year at this the staff, thanks so much for all of your help and professionalism. You guy's really know what GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE is all about. See ya next year.
josh r. from Cumming, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in September, 2009 My new wife and I had a great time. The cabin and mountains were beautiful. It was a lot easier to find than a lot of other cabins we've stayed in. Everything was clean and ready to go for us. Even our two dogs felt at home right away. We recommend Elk Springs and this cabin to everyone and we plan to go back and maybe try one of Elk Springs' other beautiful cabins.
Vernon Y. from West Liberty, Ohio recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2009 We had the priviledge of celebrating our 28th anniversary here with friends. The cabin was fabulous. It is everything the website claims it is and more. While fairly near the other cabins it has a very secluded feel to it. The staff was very friendly and helpful when we called them. We had a marvelous time relaxing. We have already begun plans for next years return trip.
Audra F. from Rolling, IO recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2009 everything was great! steep gravel not the best for bikes but plenty of other cabins to choose from. Loved the kitchen. Great decorating. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in the Smokeys!!!
Fredrick R. from Springhill, FL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2009 We stayed here for our honey moon. When we arrived we had issues checking in. Once we finially talked to the manager to hours later he said he was refund a nights stay. which he did but it wasnt for the full amount. Well once we got into the cabin we found that the light in the master bathroom didnt work. Then found the jacuzzi tub in the room also didnt work. So we contacted the manager the next day. Seven days days later when we where leaving it still wasnt fixed. Then we found the day we were leaving that the frame of the bed was broke as well. Over all the cabin was nice. This is the only real private cabin on the property. There are really no views from any of the cabins.
A guest from Johnsburg, IL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 1 days in August, 2009 Quiet, private, secluded and with a balcony wooded view. Very comfortable and complete. Convenient - 10 minutes to the Smoky Mountains and 5 minutes to services. We will definitely rebook again!
A guest from Rossville, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in July, 2009 The location of our cabin was perfect - far enough out of town to enjoy quiet and privacy. Even our cabin was secluded from others in the resort. We further enjoyed that we could call to check in and call to check out! The cabin was luxurious; our room had everything - fireplace, jacuzzi, television, rain tower shower... We wanted for nothing! An excellent experience. And with 10% off our future visits, we'd love to come back!
The best getaway my husband and i has had up to date.
A guest from Memphis, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2009 For everyone looking for a nice spot to always go vacationing to THIS IS IT!! My husband and i enjoyed the Secret Garden it's the perfect place for anniversary's and honeymoons or if you just want to get away from the city life. Also everything you would need to enjoy your vacation outside of your cabin is just literally a few miles away! The Ripley's Aquarium is a must see and just fine dinning everywhere. We are now planning to rent one of the family cabins. I would like for my family to experience it too. Isn't that something, not only do they have smaller cabins but cabins that sleeps up to 15 people. So as you can tell we're coming back and probably vacation here at least once a year after that. Thank you for the home away from home. See you soon!!
Glen M. from Prairieville, LA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in June, 2009 We stayed here for our honeymoon. The cabin still smelled new, was clean and inviting. All the amenities were perfect. The shower, hot tub, bed, and even the pool table was awesome. It could not have been any better. This is a very nice cabin and me and my wife had a blast staying here.
A guest from Robert, LA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in May, 2009 This was our first cabin rental. It was a wonderful experience. We enjoyed everything about the cabin. We will definitely stay here again.
yvonne c. from Middleburg, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in May, 2009 Loved the Smokies, after a long hike it was nice to come back to the cabin and get in the hot tub and grill and watch a movie. It was the relaxation we needed,
A guest from Lexington, KY recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in April, 2009 A little dissapointed that there was not enough hot water to use the jacuzzi and the fireplace down stairs did not work and would have liked a better view of the mountain and not other cabins but besides that it was great and we would stay again.
A guest from Lebanon, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2009 Our stay at 'Secret Garden' was wonderful! They called us Thursday morning and gave us our code to get in and even said we could check in earlier if we wanted too. The driveway is not paved yet and is a bit narrow and hard to turn around in, but the cabin was awesome. This would make a perfect 'Honeymoon Retreat'! The bedroom has to be the most romantic of any we have ever stayed in. We only ventured out twice in our 3 day stay. It was a much needed vacation for the 2 of us and we hated to leave, but came home with some wonderful memories. This is our second visit to Elk Springs in the past 6 months (the first time we stayed at 'Mountain Magic'). We will definitely be back in a few months and bring our family and plan to stay at 'Buck Wild'.
Lori C. from Baton, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in March, 2009 The cabon was awesome. We had 6 people (4 adults and 2 kids) and had plenty of room and lots of fun. Will defintely stay again!!!!
A guest from Kingston, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2009 This cabin was everything we expected based on a pre-rental review on the internet. I would (and will) go back. It was clean and everything worked. One tip, if you want complete privacy then go when there are leaves on the trees.
Joseph R. from Grand Bay, AL recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in March, 2009 The layout of this cabin is really nice for a single couple and this cabin is more secluded than the others. I wouldnt recommend this cabin to a family with children or an infant. The pull out couch is upstairs and the rooms are downstairs so my children were too scared to stay upstairs by themselves so they had to sleep in the bed with us. Not very comfortable. LOL!! Also, I would recommend putting a phonebook and telephone for local use in all the cabins. There is no cell phone signal in the mountains.
Jason T. from Chickasaw, AL recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in February, 2009 We loved the cabin and would definitly come back again, however we would know now to request a cabin that has a paved road leading to it. Not only was our road not paved but it was next to impossible to turn a car around so we actually had to back down the road our cabin was on. Other than those couple of issues the cabin experience was great and we will be back soon hopefully.
Michael G. from Greenwood, MS recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in February, 2009 Our only complaint was the construction. We did not know other cabins were so close to ours. It did not feel very private. other than that everything was wonderful
Adam C. from cornelius, NC recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in February, 2009 Overall, the stay was good but there were a few problems. First, the property was somewhat a mess. There were beer cans down in the woods and around the house, and lots of construction going on. On the second day our hot water heater was broken to where we couldn't take a shower or use the heart-shaped bathtub, a pretty big disappointment.
Andrew L. from Acworth, GA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in January, 2009 The cabin was beautiful however we did not have enough "hot water" to use the jacuzzi in the bedroom or to use the rain shower. We repeatedly called and asked for the problem to be corrected and it was not. The staff was not very helpfull nor did they seem concerned with our problem. It is a shame because it ruined part of our honeymoon and will keep us from recommended the resort to our family and friends.
April N. from CORDOVA, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2009 the shower runs out of hot water really fast, and the dish had alot of soap residue in them.over all it was a great place to stay.
Alyssa L. from Highland, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2009 The cabin was absolutely wonderful. It was just as expected. We had a little trouble finding it since there is no sign at the entrance to the driveway and you're not sure you are at the correct cabin until you drive all the way up to it and see the sign on the cabin itself. At night it would be very hard to find. The driveway needs gravel or to be paved. It rained the whole time we were there and the driveway was a mudhole and had ruts in it from runoff. There is no turnaround space for leaving the cabin. We had to back out which was difficult especially at night with no lights. When it came time to checkout we were instructed to call the office number and inform them of our departure. I called the number and was connected to an individual's cell phone. His voicemail just stated his name and to leave a message. I thought it was a mistake since he gave no indication he was with Elk Springs Resort. Also, his mailbox was full and I was unable to leave a message. I eventually got a hold of the office after multiple tries and she informed me that was her manager's cell phone. They need to have a better system in place for checkout or have phones forwarded to a live person or a voicemail system that allows enough space for multiple messages.
Michael H. from Austin, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in December, 2008 It was a great cabin, a great location, and generally perfect in every way. Our only complaint is that we had a hard time keeping the cabin warm enough because it was in the teens when we stayed around Christmastime. We also ran out of hot water in the shower very quickly. But both of those issues were due to the extreme cold outside. Aside from that, we loved it and would love to go back.
this was a great place to stay while on vacation, either long trip or just 3 days like us.
Kyle L. from New Albany, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2008 the cabin secret garden was an amazing cabin to be in for our stay. the 18 foot shower was priceless, the hottub in the room was a nice touch and the bed was very comfortable. the overall stay was great. good loction just about 10min from the strip but still out in the woods. very nice stay thank you my girlfriend and i will be back that is forsure.
vincent b. from Dacula, Georgia recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2008 Only comment I have is that the cabin needs to have a telephone for emergencies. We were unable to get a cell signal, so were out of reach with our family if an emergency came up.
A guest from Monticello, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2008 The secret garden cabin was a great cabin. The rain shower was the best ever. I would come back in a heart beat. The only thing I would do different is get a cabin with a better view.
Dane T. from Palmetto Bay, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2008 This was a brand new cabin with dramatic features. Beautiful furnishings and facilities. Undoubtedly one of the best mountain top communities in Tennessee.Within a mile of a quaint artist community, Glades, and a major grocery outlet, Food City. We were able to see all the areas of interest in the area in just a few days. A great experience in many ways.
