"Shoemakers Cottage" is an original house built in the early 1900's for a Cape George fisherman. It has been renovated over the years by his family who still own it. Its front deck overlooks St. George's Bay on Highway #337. The kitchen is large and fully equipped. Upstairs has 2 single beds in a large room and 1 single bed in a private room. There is a double bed in a private room downstairs and 1 single bed in the front sunroom. The back deck has bench seating with a gas grill and picnic table.
Short drive to beach, blue-fin tuna interpretive center and fishing wharf at Ballantyne's Cove. Also nearby is Cape George Lighthouse and picnic area, Heritage School Museum and hiking trails. A good day trip could include the Cabot Trail.
Approx 30kms to the town of Antigonish
