This is the only condo I have stayed at in the Islander and I would recommend it to anyone. It was well decorated and had a wonderful view of the beach from the balcony. There is nothing better than waking up in the morning and seeing the beach right out your back door! The only thing I might do differently is to try and vacation in the off season next time so that the cost isn't as much.

We hope to make this stay a yearly family tradition. Brooks and Shorey was very organized and helpful. The unit was beautiful and very clean. The amenities, especially the chairs was a nice savings. We will definately be back next year and plan on renting through Brooks and Shorey!

This was our first trip to the Ft.Walton/Destin beach area. We had seen this unit's pictures online and felt like it would be nice. We were NOT disappointed! Everything was smooth from the beginning, including booking with Brooks Shorey propery mgmt. The unit looks out at the gorgeous ocean. Top floor. Nice decor inside. LCD tvs' in each room. Cable. All the amenities to make the trip pleasant and then some!We hope to make unit 7008 an annual visit! You will not be disappointed!

Overall very good - Issue with master bed mattress

The unit was very nicely decorated. TVs and DVD player were all very good. Furniture was very nice. We enjoyed the "one free DVD" rental per day from the Tom Thumb store up the street. The only issue we had with the unit (7008) was the mattress in the master bedroom. It was very hard. Perhaps some people would like it, but we didn't. We were so uncomfortable on it, that we ended-up sleeping on the sleeper sofa for the majority of our stay. This issue alone would cause us to think twice before renting the (otherwise very nice) unit again. We're sharing this comment in case any other renters voice the same concern... Thank You for allowing us to provide our input.

This was a beautiful condo with a breathtaking view, everything was wonderful. The only semi-negative thing is that none of the amenities were available but it seemed to be due to the fact that this was off season.

The location/unit we stayed in was excellent. There are a few recommendations. The master bedroom needs a new mattress. It is either very old and worn or a very cheap new one. The exhaust fan in the bathroom off the hall does not work. Several light bulbs were blown. Otherwise, the unit was beautifully decorated and in good shape. Better than most we have stayed in.

Yet another great job and beautiful experience at your resort; I took my family here on vacation and had such a great experience with the place. Now I stay here when I come down on business at Eglin AFB adn Hurlburt Field, and have recomended it to all of my business companions. I know that one of them has been staying here as well and loves the place. Will certainly be staying here for many more months to come.

We have stayed in different condos @ the Islander for 4 years and were always satisfied. This condo was dirty, kitchen had unclean dishes and utensils in drawers, beds had sandy sheets. When I complained the desk girl handed me a new set of sheets and told me I needed to bring her the dirty ones. They didn't seem to care about the condition of the condo. It looked great in pictures but very shabby in person. My final complaint w/ the Islander is that we mistakenly left a whole large ziploc bag of medicine in the kitchen (stupid us!) We had friends still staying there after we had left and realized our mistake. We called and they went to the front desk to check on the medication. Told them and us too bad, we threw it away. It wasn't more than an hour after we checked out. Our friends even offered to go to the unit and get it and were told too bad. I know, our mistake and stupidity but hundreds of dollars in necessary medicine was thrown away. Never again will we stay at the Islander after this years experience. Too bad, we had really enjoyed previous stays.
