Lovers Key State Park. It's a Florida State Park, which means it's awesome. Peace, quite, and an abundance of wildlife and fun, relaxing activities await. It used to be accessible only by boat as it's made up of four barrier islands. You really get a sense of being away from it all. Manatees, dolphins, spoonbills and more are all in easy view. There are 5 miles of multiuse trails on Black Island alone. Book kayak tours, bike rides and canoes at the fully stocked concession building. You'll find it on CR865, conveniently between the beaches of Fort Myers and Bonita. It's open from 8 am to sunset, and admission is just $8 for vehicles with 2 - 8 people ($2 for each additional passenger), $4 for a single occupant, and $2 for pedestrians, and bicyclists.

Barefoot Beach State Preserve. How does 342 acres of unspoiled, undeveloped barrier island sound for a relaxing and memorable day at the beach? Absolutely wonderful? Yes. This incredible beach is one of the last undeveloped barrier islands along the Southwest Coast of Florida. You literally enter a different world at Barefoot Beach, one that existed before all the development overtook so much of Florida. While that development has been great for Florida and gives many more people the opportunity to enjoy the Sunshine State, it's also wonderful to be able to escape to a place that seems like its from a different place and time. Park Rangers offer interpretive programs, there's a concession building, a nature trail, showers, picnic area and lots of natural beauty. It's near Bonita Beach Park, so you could make a day at both beaches. Open 8 am to sunset. Parking is $8 per vehicle.
