Luiano takes its name from the Latin “Locus Jani”, the place of Janus, the ancient Roman God of gates and drawbridges that also gives the name to the month of January that bridges the old with the New Year.The Fienile di Janus is located close to Mercatale Val di Pesa (3 Km), perfect for shopping and for public transport. This location is ideal for discovering Tuscany. It is 7 Km away from Impuneta, with its famous cotto; 9 Km from San Casciano with its ancient castle; 15 Km from Florence, 50 Km from Siena, and 120 from Pisa. Nearby the ancient Church of Sant’Andrea a Luiano, visible from the top floor of the Fienile di Janus, with its Romanic structure and affreschi from the XIV century.
