Luiano takes its name from the Latin “Locus Jani”, the place of Janus, the ancient Roman God of gates and drawbridges that also gives the name to the month of January that bridges the old with the New Year.The Fienile di Janus is located close to Mercatale Val di Pesa (3 Km), perfect for shopping and for public transport. This location is ideal for discovering Tuscany. It is 7 Km away from Impuneta, with its famous cotto; 9 Km from San Casciano with its ancient castle; 15 Km from Florence, 50 Km from Siena, and 120 from Pisa. Nearby the ancient Church of Sant’Andrea a Luiano, visible from the top floor of the Fienile di Janus, with its Romanic structure and affreschi from the XIV century.
The Fienile di Janus has been recently restored by the owner, a young Florentine architect. It measure 100 square meters distributed in two levels. On the ground floor a fully furnished kitchen opens on a comfortable leaving and dining room with a stylish modern fire place that turns into stairs leading to the top floor. On the top floor there are two bedrooms (one with king bed and the other with twin beds) both with walking closets and bathrooms with shower. From the top floor outside stairs lead to the garden. From the leaving room and the kitchen through three glass doors you reach the garden with with a covered dining area and a private large swimming pool (shared only with the owner’s family that lives nearby).
