Overall Property Description:
The Pass of the Shepherds is located on an ancient Etruscan and Roman road, now secondary, joining distant areas of Tuscany. From the Etruscan till a few years before the Second World War, millions of sheep passed here twice a year, coming from the summer pastures to the winter pastures and vice versa. This has meant and still means that the passage of the shepherds-are located in the geographic centre of Tuscany. In 1-1.5 hours, you can reach any tourist destination: the sea, mountains and art centres. The block where is the actual apartments, dating back to 1600. The structure, of course, being near the river, was built with rounded-stones, taken from the land around it and that is why plastered. At the reception you will find a wonderful stone floor, discovered and restored in the work of 1992.
The whole structure is supported and reinforced by beautiful brick arches that have also been restored and brought back to its former splendour during the work of recovery.
The ancient furniture have been restored and integrated with modern in Tuscan style. Some rooms and apartments, you can find really unique pieces that still enact all the charm of the artistic culture of the Chianti countryside.
