I'm a travel writer who has traveled the world in search of the best places to stay. Istanbul is my favorite city and I've chosen this apartment after spending months searching for the best neighborhood and most charming flat from which to enjoy Istanbul. The view is simply stunning - a hotel room with this view would cost you hundreds per night. Check out the Dolmace Palace, the Bosphorus Bridge, Angel Island and much more. The neighborhood, Cihangir is a short walk from the Taksim - the center of Istanbul's night (and day) life. Cihangir is just far enough away (10 min walk) from the hustle and bustle of the city center to provide you with a place to rest, but close enough to be there when you wish. Relax on your balcony and enjoy watching ships from around the world glide along one of the world's most strategic waterways between the Maramara and the Black Seas. Look from your perch in Europe, across the Bosphorus to Asia. You are minutes from the tram which will whisk you in moments to the old part of the city - Sultanahmet with all its mosques and palaces. A block away from the flat is a taxi station. But most tourist sites are within easy walking distance. This neighborhood is a favorite of foreigners, artists, writers, and film industry people. It is full of delightful cafes, and has the ambience of Soho or Monmarte, Paris. Sleeps eight comfortably and comes with all linens, dishes, tv, cable, telephone, air conditioning, stereo speakers for an ipod, even a sultan's divan from which to take in the view! Price is for 6. Each additional person is $20 per night. There is a refundable damage deposit. And a one-time cleaning fee of $75. The $500 damage deposit will be returned to you within one week of your checkout date. Utility fee is $100 per week. Includes wireless internet, tv satallite, electricity, gas, water, trash removal. Other options are available such as driver, airport transfer, daily maid service, your own private city orientation guide, and much more. Summer and fall 2008 are filling fast - see you in Istanbul!
