Definitely one of the catchiest, most intriguing, prestigious properties of its kind, La Svolta is a completely private, multi-level villa built on the hills of the gorgeous Lake Bracciano by an Italian architect and owned by an English artist who has been living here for quite a few years. The circular shape of the main living room, with its large windows overlooking the lake, enhances the exquisite panorama of Lake Bracciano and its beautiful surroundings. Most of the rooms, terraces and outdoor areas, pool included, share the same views.Completely deep-in-the-green and very quiet, featuring a large swimming pool with shower and locker room, private lake consortium beach (within walking distance, also accessible by car), barbecue and outdoor sitting, the villa is gated and has space for two or three cars. Its interiors are eclectic, interesting, comfortable and adorned with the owner’s paintings. The whole property has been recently refurbished to offer top accommodation for short and medium-term vacation rentals. Owners' grown-up children live in a separate part of the house and are available for any problem. La Svolta is the ideal base from which to explore Rome and the Etruscan cities that gird it. Within a few minute drive along the easy, paved road is Trevignano Romano. Stores, typical shops and restaurants are strung all along the lake. Etruscan Sutri is within a 10 minutes drive. Medieval Bracciano, with frequent trains to Rome, is 15 minutes away. Drive into Rome within 50 minutes, or to Tarquinia, another Etruscan capital, in even less time. Orvieto in nearby Umbria is only an hour away. Other major art cities such as Spoleto, Assisi, Todi, Perugia can be easily reached through the nearby Cassia State Road and the highway. One of the most renowned golf courses in the world, Olgiata Golf Club, is just minutes away. La Svolta welcomes you with a path connecting the parking area with the pool, the house and a furnished lake view terrace. Two completely independent, separate units are available. The smaller unit (lower level) sleeps 2 and features a very large studio-like room overlooking the lake with a fireplace, a seating area and doors to the outside, two single beds that can be made into a double plus a kitchenette and a bathroom with a shower. The larger unit (multi-level) sleeps 8 and is made of a very large living/dining room with fireplace, satellite TV + DVD player + HI-FI installation and doors to the patio (veranda, with dining table), a kitchen with stove top, oven, dishwasher and microwave, a storage-utility room with fridge/freezer and washer, a half bathroom, a sunroom and exterior doors. Hence, a few steps lead to the mezzanine – an air conditioned master bedroom with king-size bed and divan/bed, split level study and en-suite bathroom with tub and enclosed shower – and, seven steps up, the first level featuring two bedrooms, (one with a queen-size bed and a single, the other with 2 single beds), one with door to a terrace (view) and one bathroom with a tub and hand shower.
