Overlooking the wharf in a quiet coastal town, our cottages allow you to relax in an atmosphere of beauty, comfort and serenity right on the Bay of Fundy. Along the miles of accessible shoreline are secluded coves and waterfalls that tumble from the bluffs to the beach. Margaretsville's Lighthouse is literally right next door. One beach house is a beautifully appointed three bedroom getaway that sleeps eight. Our other cottages can each accommodate up to four people. All come complete with linens, towels, satellite TV/VCR, BBQs, complimentary laundry facilities, and fully-equipped kitchens. Each cottage has its own private deck facing the Bay, providing an ideal place to watch the highest tides in the world come and go. Rooms get their character from the brilliant seashore light and the salty ocean that perfumes every room.Our cottages are cozy and comfortable with beautiful handmade driftwood furniture fashioned from flotsam delivered by the restless tides of the Bay. All have glowing wood floors, comfortable premium beds with luxury linens and down comforters to snuggle you as you drift off to sleep to the sounds of the surf. Kitchens are equipped with a full size fridge, electric range, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, dishes and cookware allowing you the luxury of setting your own pace and meeting your own dietary needs. Or you can bask in the glow of sunset as you grill your dinner on your own private deck overlooking the Bay. In case you don't feel like cooking, enjoy delicious healthy cuisine featuring local, organic, and free range meat and produce at our licensed cafe right next door. Cap off the day with a bonfire on the beach, right in front of your cottage. Margaretsville is a quiet and picturesque old fishing village and shipping port. Its central location makes it an ideal home base from which to explore the Annapolis Valley region and attractions along the Evangeline Trail. There are many day trips to take from here like visiting historic forts, settlements, and gardens in Annapolis Royal; touring beautiful vineyards (there are five within an hour's drive); visiting turn of the century historic farms and a petting zoo; active fishing villages from large (Digby) to small (Harbourville, Parkers Cove); hiking in Kejimkujik Provincial Park; visiting other Valley towns (Wolfville, Berwick, Windsor); or driving to Bay of Fundy/Minas Basin look off spots (Blomidon, Cape Spear). Margaretsville is within an hour or so of all of these, and it's only an hour across to the South Shore as well. There are also several excellent golf courses only 10-15 minutes away. This piece of unspoiled oceanfront is one of Canada's gems.
