VILLA OVERVIEWCasa El Mirador is the perfect retreat for relaxation and to use as a base for exploring. With its own private pool (10m x 5m), it is set amongst traditional olive trees in a stunning position. The villa enjoys breathtaking mountain views of La Maroma and Alcaucin village as well as being close to Lake Vinuela. Sleeping up to 6 people, this tastefully decorated house comprises of 3 bedrooms - double with ensuite wc/ shower room and balcony, 1 twin room (beds can be easily pushed togeher to make a double) and 1 room with bunk beds. Plus there is a family bathroom with WC, shower over bath, basin and bidet. Downstairs is the comfortable lounge/ dining area with TV, BBC Freeview satellite, DVD player and CD/hi-fi and a well equipped kitchen with oven/ hob, microwave, washing machine, fridge-freezer plus all the crockery and utensils you could possibly need from bottle opener to garlic press! The outside patio area is furnished with a dining table and chairs, parasol, sunloungers and BBQ, and overlooks the beautiful views and pool. With air-conditioning/ heating in all rooms, Casa El Mirador is perfect for holidays all year round.
VILLA NOTES:
Casa El Mirador sleeps up to 6 people (4 adults and 2 children aged 14 years or under) as one bedroom is equipped with bunk beds. There is also a travel cot & baby listener available which could be placed in any of the bedrooms, plus a microwave steam steriliser. An iron, ironing board, clothes airer and hairdryer are also provided. For entertainment there are board games, cards plus a small CD, DVD and book library. Bathroom & kitchen tea towels are supplied for use inside however we ask you to bring your own towels for use by the pool & on the beach. This is a non-smoking property however you can smoke outside and there is an ashtray for this purpose only. The pool is not heated so is only available for use between 1st April - 31st October. The villa will be cleaned for your arrival and if you are staying for 2 or more weeks, linen and towels will be changed half way through your stay. Change-over day is flexible to suit your requirements and to allow you to take advantage of cheap mid-week flights from companies such as Easyjet, Bmibaby, Jet2.com and Monarch. There are also many charter flights to Malaga with companies such as Thomson, First Choice, Airtours, Thomas Cook etc. Plus the villa is just over 1 hour from Granada which benefits from low cost flights from Ryanair. The check-in time is after 4pm on day of arrival and check-out is 10am on day of departure. We ask that you advise us of your flight arrival and departure times at the time of booking. LOCAL INFORMATION:
A stay at Casa El Mirador means that you can escape and discover the ‘Real Spain’ of the Axarquia region of Andalucia. Unwind by the pool and enjoy a BBQ or a nice meal in one of the local restaurants -then when you’re ready to go exploring, there are many interesting places to discover. For the outdoor enthusiasts, the Parque Nacionales is just 10km from the villa and Lake Vinuela is only 10 minutes away. The nearest beach is 25 minutes by car at Torre Del Mar and slightly further along the coast is Nerja, with several lovely beaches to enjoy. There are 2 golf courses within a 30-40 minute drive away. Malaga is a 1 hour drive away, and beyond there are the Western Costa Del Sol resorts such as Marbella and onwards to Gibraltar. The historical cities of Granada, Sevilla and Cordoba, the mountains of the Sierra Nevada and Alpujarras are also within visiting distance. GOLF:
Here is some information on the 2 nearest courses to the villa however there are more than 30 other golf courses in and around the Malaga region (contact Nicola for more information). Opened in 2002, the Baviera Golf Course is located 25 mins drive from the villa at La Caleta de Velez and is open all year. This 18 hole, par 71, 5066 metres course was designed by the European tour professional José Maria Cañizares and has wide fairways and large, fast greens plus there are some cleverly placed water hazards which put this course in the moderately difficult bracket. Facilities include golf buggies, practice balls, pitch and putt, driving range, covered driving range, golf school, caddies, club rental, trolleys, lockers, dressing rooms, showers, club house, restaurants and a pro shop. The course enjoys magnificent views of both the sea and the mountains and is only 200 metres from the La Caleta yachting club. For further information call Baviera Golf on: 0034 952 555 015. The Añoreta Golf Course is located 40 minutes from the villa, close to Rincón de la Victoria. This 18 hole, par 72, 5673 metre course was opened in 1990 and was also designed by José Mariá Cañizares. Situated between the mountains and the sea, this ‘Parkland styled’ course provides some spectacular scenery. The fairways are wide and the greens are good, plus there are some difficult holes making this a very challenging golf course for all level of golfers. In fact, there are eleven holes with water - including the long 528 metres third hole. Facilities include pro shop, restaurant, clubhouse, showers, changing rooms, rental clubs, trolleys, buggies, driving range, putting and chipping greens and lessons.
