An additional single bed is available on request. Air conditioning favours a pleasant stay in the warm season. In the fully fitted American-style kitchen you can prepare delicious meals. Kids and grown-ups alike can watch their favourite TV channels thanks to the satellite cable connection. Overall Property Description: Villa ?Le Cannicelle? is located in a strategic position, in between the sea and the hills. On a hillside at 124 ft. above sea level, it commands a spectacular Mediterranean vista - views stretching down to the farthest mountains of the Calabria region (the mountain range that soars above Diamante and Paola) on one side and as far as the Punta (Cape) of the Infreschi and the wild coastal tract bearing the same name between Scario and Marina di Camerota on the other side. Two thirds of the estate is covered with lush woodland thick with cork oak, a plant typical of the environmental niche stretching along the coastline of the Bay of Policastro between S.Marina and Sapri.
Surrounded by a big enclosed garden, it is the perfect accommodation for families with children and for those who wish to take their pets on holiday with them! The Villa was built in 1992 in the Mediterranean rural style and it has been redecorated yearly. Apart from a flat occasionally used by the owners, there are two self-contained residences, both with sea-views: a large apartment with a large terrace named ?Lentisco? (mastic tree) on the first floor, and a lovely attic with balcony named ?Mirto? (myrtle) on the second floor. All rooms are airy and full of light, furnished in a simple and tasteful style. Guests have use of the communal areas: the large loggia and solarium, the garden, the swimming pool, barbecue, outdoor showers and taverna - the area under the porch, wooden tables and benches. The sandy beach is only 600 metres away, and it is ideal for long walks - following the coast you can reach the town centre of Villammare in 10 minutes. Not to be missed: boat trips along the coast of Maratea and around the Bay of the Infreschi; horse-trekking on Mount Bulgheria, hiking or canoeing to the ?Gole? (Gorges) of the River Bussento; the Paestum archaeological site; the Velia archaeological site; the Marine Museum at Pioppi; the Certosa of Padula; the medieval village of San Severino di Centola; the World Wildlife Fund eco-oasis at Morigerati; the caves of Cape Palinuro; the endless sandy beaches and ? memorable sunsets from ?Le Cannicelle? terraces! You can reach the island of Capri by hydrofoil from Sapri harbour (seasonal timetable). Villammare is an ancient fishing village at the foot of the extensive Cilento National Park. The Park takes in one of the most attractive strip of the Tyrrhenian coast swathed by the vivid colours of the Mediterranean flora. Long sandy beaches, a colourful seafront fringed with palms and eucalyptus trees, small restaurants, cosy venues and cottages make of Villammare the perfect seaside resort for travellers from all over the world, in search of friendly and charming spots off the beaten track. Breathtaking views from the hills covered with centuries-old cork oaks, trekking the mountains and cruising along the Cilento coast, mouth-watering regional cuisine and the special friendliness of the locals captivate visitors all year round.
