Enjoying the most beautiful and tranquil of settings this lovely villa with swimming pool is full of charm and character and is a short walk from shops, restaurants and bars. There is accommodation for up to 8 people plus a cot.

Le Mas Pouget is set on the edge of a lovely medieval town but in a superbly quiet and secluded position, not overlooked and away from traffic. The garden is some 60 metres by 40 metres and has a swimming pool, summer kitchen/bar and swings and slide for the children. There is a large shaded terrace for dining al fresco and a super large barbeque.
The swimming pool is 8 metres by 4 metres and ranges from 60cm to 1.7 metres in depth. There are sun loungers and parasols provided and the pool has an alarm for child safety. The garden is a delight for children there is so much space for them to play; closing the vehicle gate encloses the garden and makes it safe for toddlers.

Inside the villa is a large sitting room and raised dining area totalling some 64 square metres. The area benefits from air-conditioning and has television and a DVD player as well as a CD music system. The kitchen has a dishwasher, fridge hob and oven as well as a microwave, the adjoining utility room houses a washing machine and freezer.
There are 3 bedrooms within the villa two double and a twin, the 4th bedroom is outside the villa attached to the summer kitchen, this is a twin bedroom. The villa has a bathroom with bath and separate shower, there is also a separate toilet.

The Area

From the ancient city walls of Carcassonne to the modern holiday complexes of the coast, the Languedoc/Roussillon region begs to be explored. One of the Mediterranean's most glorious regions. Inland, the sunshine works its magic on mile upon mile of vineyards, the vital ingredient for the region's proud boast of being, by far the biggest wine producer in France. Explore the Languedoc and you discover the beautiful blending of Catalan colour and French elegance, combined with the region's colourful history of the Cathars and Albigens.
Le Mas Pouget is ideally situated for exploring the ‘Haut Languedoc National Park’. It is situated close to The Herault Valley and there is swimming and canoeing about 15 minutes drive from the villa.
The river Herault has cut deep into the limestone garrigues creating passages and gorges. It irrigates the cultivated valleys finally emerging into the languedoc plain at the ‘Pont du Diable’ (bridge of the devil) only a short drive from the villa.The village of St Guilhem le Desert officially one of the ten most beautiful villages in all France is just 20 km away. It was built in the 11th century and remains almost totally original. Meander through the winding alleyways and visit the famous Abby. St Guilhem is also the starting point for some truly marvellous walks through some of the most breathtaking scenery in southern France. There are walks from 30 minutes to 8 hours, take your pick they are all great fun.

You can also explore the Grotte de Clamouse a wonderful cave system close by. One of the specialities of the area is canoeing. St Guilhem is the main starting off point and the trips are between 3 hours and (for the very adventurous) 2 days!
For shopping visit nearby Pezenas or Clermont L’Herault both large market towns with a host of shops, restaurants and really good street markets.
Pezenas is a very pretty medieval town with an abundance of shops, cafes and restaurants. The centre is full of buildings dating back to the 16th & 17th centuries. There is also an excellent market on Saturdays which provides an ideal opportunity to stock up on the wonderful regional delicacies, fresh salads and vegetables, meats, cheeses, seafood and of course the local wine.

The Mediterranean coast is some 30 minutes from the villa. Here you will find sleepy fishing villages and modern beach resorts with miles of golden sands. At Cap d’Agde is the famous ‘Aqualand’ water park with its waterslides, flumes and wave machine, the resort also has a large aquarium specializing in Mediterranean fish. The nearby town of Meze has a very nice beach ideal for children a it has warm water and gently sloping sandy shore. For mum and Dad there is a beachside restaurant and bar, or wander two minutes to the very pretty harbour and sample one of the many restaurants for a long lazy lunch.
