Gull River abutting the Lake - Cottage Rental Listing Details

INTERIOR DESCRIPTION
This cottage is fully insulated with electrical central heating and can be used all year round. It is more than delightful to come here even in the middle of the winter and enjoy kilometers of snowmobile trails, ice fishing, hiking, skiing at Sir Sam’s ski resort which is 30 minutes away. For the lazy ones you can enjoy indoor team games like tennis, fuss ball, air hockey table, TV/VCR, etc. For all other seasons it is your choice what you like the most to do from the unlimited possibilities you are offered. You may want to hit the “Attractions" and plan the entire your stay according to your tastes and needs.

The living room boasts three couches, coffee tables, TV/VCR, large closet, walk out through a slide door on the deck facing the panorama of the river or on the northern side during the hot days of the summer. Large windows are wrapping the room.
The dinning room is adjacent to the kitchen for your convenience and there is a modern large dinning table and chairs which can accommodate eight people. On the corner is the cooler with cold and room temperature water.
The kitchen is fully equipped, just bring your food and drinks.
There are four bedrooms, three with queen bed and one with stack single bed.
The bathroom is a windowed four piece facility with warm and cold water. Please bring your own towels and personal items/consumables.
The access hallways bring you to the decks, bedrooms, kitchen, living room.
The recreation room is huge, fully and diversified stuffed for everyone’s taste, it has 600 sqft fully carpeted. There is an original wood stove on slated background, and lots of board games (air-hockey, tennis, fussball), the bar with stools is waiting for you to bring your preferred drinks, two coaches (one is a double bed pull-out), chairs and armchairs can comfort you and if you wish to take a fresh air breath, just get out on either side of the room through sliding doors; one exit bears you on another deck facing the fascinating river.

EXTERIOR DESCRIPTION
There are two large decks at the main floor benched all around; tables, chairs, umbrella are waiting for you, on one of them the bbq too. One deck is facing the river offering you the opportunity to enjoy the nature in all its splendor from the fifty feet height and with no neighbor across the river. The other deck in facing north for those hot summer days.
The dock is southerly exposed being rarely in shade, and is a sunbather's dream, while the shadier yard will be much preferred by those who aren't so fond of sweltering in the sun. Often, swimmers like to just jump in the water (possibly with a pool noodle) and allow the current to carry them down to the nearby lake, where they can walk out when it gets shallow, and walk back up the road! There is installed a jumping string which flies you above the water floating in the air and slowly touching the water. We strongly recommend you bear floating jackets/items and responsible use the string. This is lots of fun, but we also recommend wearing some kind of footwear like wetsuit boots or sandals to help with climbing out and walking back.
There is also a small shallow area between the docks and the shore, sheltered from the current, for smaller water enthusiasts or less able swimmers. The height of the river and the strength of the current are controlled by dams further upstream, past the world-class kayak course just upriver of Minden. Due to the strength of the current (which is stronger at the mouth of the river as it narrows quite a bit going into the lake), it can be quite difficult to bring the boat back up the river if you have gone out to the lake. The solution is to hug the shoreline opposite the cottage which is somewhat protected from the current. There are miles of adjoining lakes, with public boat access at several locations. One can boat up to town, or drive up and float back downriver in an inner tube, carried only by the current (but somebody has to drive back or you carry it back walking few hundred feet!)

ACTIVITIES NEARBY
After enjoying a spectacular sunset angling over the river, toast some marshmallows over a fire in the outdoor firepit (ample lawn furniture is available), or enjoy a barbeque. Should the weather be capricious, the cottage is equipped with a wood-burning stove, several board games, books, videocassettes, CDRoms, as well as TV, stereo/CD player and VCR (we have some, you may want to bring your favourite videos, or rent some in town too). Grocery stores, a laundromat, restaurants and other services to make a vacation enjoyable are also nearby, just few kilometers away.

RATE INFORMATION
$1,000/wk from July 01 through Labor day, outside frame $800-1000. Weekend: $400-600 Deposit for half of the rate is required at the booking time. A $200 security cheque is required; this last one will not be cashed unless at the end of the stay there are damages others than normal wear and tear.
