The property is a very peaceful place. The gite is actually a part of an old countryside court of justice which origins are back as far as from the Middle Ages. With its 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms, it sleeps up to 7 guests in comfort. The village of Le Coux et Bigaroque is 14Km away from Les Eyzies (international capital of the Prehistory), 33 Km from the 1,000 year old town of Sarlat, 38 Km away from the famous caves of LASCAUX. Interested in history, of old monuments (castles, churches, towns, etc.), of sports (horse riding, bicycle, Kayak, golf and tennis courts in the vicinity…) amateur of French food (foie gras, truffes, Bordeaux wine,…) or willing to make some hiking in the rich landscape ; here is the RIGHT place! Outdoor description: -------------------- The house has a private pool (4,5x8m with roman steps, ideal for children) in front of the house with safety children fence included. The pool is equipped with heating system and temperature regulation system (charged as an extra cost if used). There are several terraces for you to enjoy dining and relaxing outside at different times of the day: - 1 covered terrace on the front of the house, next to the pool - it is equiped with chairs and table and a charcoal bbq - 1 charming terrace at the rear of the house, near the garden, also equiped with table and chairs - 1 another area in stones to sit in in the garden The 900 m2 grassy garden (joint use with owner) offers a large playing area. Outside, there is also 1 covered parking lot for 1 car (maximum height 1.90m). Situation: ---------- Lagrave is a perfect base from which to visit the many medieval villages and castels of the area, including Beynac, La Roque-Gageac, Domme or Sarlat nearby, and also within easy reach of Bordeaux vineyards such as Monbazillac and Saint Emilion about 1,5h drive away. The local area abounds in wildlife such as Rabbits, Deer, Owls, Hawks, and Woodpeckers. For walkers there are many footpaths in Le Coux area. The pleasant village of Siorac, with shops, restaurants and supermarket, is only two miles away. The medieval local town of Saint-Cyprien also with shops and restaurants is another 3 miles away. It has a large attractive and colored market on the Sunday morning. If you like walking, water sports, horse-riding or cycling, you'll find what you're looking for in the hills and valleys that are so much part of the Périgord region. Golfers also have a 18 holes course only 5 minutes drive away at Le Golf de L'olivarie (www.golfdelolivarie.com) The more adventurouse can enjoy Quad-Biking, Go-Karting, or taking to the rivers in a Canoe or Kayak. But there's nothing to stop you simply enjoying a quiet walk in the countryside!!
