Carmelita By the Lake, www.carmelitabythelake.com is a luxury boutique style, 5 bedroom, 4 bath cottage rental. We are located on Maple Lake in the heart of Haliburton Highland, Ontario. Carmelita By the Lake is 2.5 hours north of Toronto, 3 hours from Ottawa, 45 minutes to Huntsville, Bracebridge and Muskoka. Dorset and Minden is about 15 minutes away. We guarantee this is the finest cottage rental to be found in the area.
We are located close to many attractions such as Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Reserve, Haliburton Forest Wolf Centre, Walking on a Cloud Canopy Tour, Sir Sam's ski hill, Dorset Lookout and world reknown Algonquin Park. Haliburton is known for our large artist community with many artist studios and a winery, Moon Shadows Estate Winery.
Our 5 rooms consist of three (3) queen beds, 1 double and one room with two twin beds. Two rooms have TV, DVD, and fireplace. Each rooms comes with CD clock radio. During the Fall and Winter we have a B&B operation and within each room you will find robes and slippers for each guest. There is a total of three (3) HD satellite TV on the premises.
We can offer a 6th bedroom at an additional cost of $400.00 per week starting May 2010. To see all 6 rooms you can visit:

The Guest Lounge is equipped with a large screen HD satellite TV, DVD, CD player, VCR and a surround sound for everyone's enjoyment and fireplace to cozy up on those chilly nights. Utilize the paddle boat touring Maple Lake or use one of our many bicycles to get to know the neighbourhood. We provide a hot tub for most of the year with the exception of July and August in which it can be made available for $250.00 per week. There is a jacuzzi tub in The Bogart Loft.
We provide a well appointed kitchen that includes all the amenities to be found in a fully equipped high end kitchen, including an espresso machine and all the regular items to be found in an executive kitchen. The executive chef in you will be extremely impressed! A cooler sits on the back deck (during the summer) with the BBQ and we have picnic baskets should you decide to pack a picnic and explore.
We do not provide linens, pillows or towels, but can provide a linen and towel service for $95.00 per week.
Next summer (2010) the Ontario Government is set to put into force
its new harmonized GST/PST sales tax which will apply a 13% sales tax to rentals. Book your summer vacation before summer 2010 and save the 8% that will have to be added to your rental.

We require a refundable security deposit of $500.00 with your deposit. 50% deposit is required at time of booking if more than 30 days. Full payment is due 30 days before your arrival date. There is no refund provided for cancellation unless we can rebook your dates. We highly suggest you look into travel cancellation insurance.
Carmelita By the Lake is a pet free and non smoking property. You will be immediately asked to leave without a refund if we are aware pets are in the property. We will not refund your security deposit should smoking take place inside the property.
You are responsible for any damages to the property, internal and external that occurs during your rental period and will be charged to your credit card for any fixes.
It is your responsible to leave the property in the same clean state it was left for you. You are doing this for the guest coming in after you and to be respectful. There is a $350.00 cleaning fee that will be deducted from your security deposit if the property is not left in the way you received it.
