Mas de la Bousquette is a 16th century Provençal mas of great charm and character. It nestles in seven acres of lovely gardens and natural meadowland leading into rolling countryside in the foothills of the mountains of the Cévennes and Ardeche.Built of the local mellow limestone with its internal courtyard, its unique roman-tiled roofscape, steep stone steps and sound of running water this is a truly charming and peaceful place to stay at any time. The mas has been superbly and lovingly restored with every care taken to preserve its unique character. Two completely independent gîtes have been created within the two end towers, linked by a roofed terrace overlooking the courtyard garden. The gîtes are luxuriously and stylishly furnished and exceptionally well equipped, making them ideal for a relaxing and comfortable holiday or a longer out-of-season stay. When planning the gîtes we were determined to give our guests nothing but the best, so with your comfort in mind we have provided the very highest quality fittings and furnishings. It is our aim to make you, our guests, feel comfortable, at home and relaxed so that you cannot wait to come back again! Entrance to the gîtes is through an orchard full of almonds, cherries, apricots, olives, figs, pomegranates, and British rare breed chickens! Each gîte has its own private terrace where you can take breakfast or an evening glass of the excellent local wine. Within the garden you also have your own barbecue area where you can enjoy "al-fresco" dining with views of the sunset over Mont Bouquet. The internal courtyard provides a haven of peace with the sound of running water - a cool place to sit on the hottest day. Or choose to while away a hot summer afternoon snoozing in a shady hammock or on the chaise beneath the willow tree beside the Koi pond. Guests have exclusive use of the large heated swimming pool set within its own safe walled and gated garden full of Mediterranean and sub-tropical plants. Depending on the weather, it is possible to swim here from April through November. We are committed to providing our guests with a warm welcome, superb accommodation and unique hospitality to ensure a truly memorable stay. We invite all our guests to join us for 'dîner à la provençal' the evening they arrive, giving an opportunity to meet in a relaxed and informal setting and find out about all the things the guide books leave out.
