There is a lush terraced garden available for your use, which has a view of the surrounding countryside. Each unit is beautifully furnished, and is equipped with full modern kitchen and bathroom, high-speed internet, etc. Ideally suited for weekly visits or long-term stays (discounts for longer terms).
Centrally located for daytrips throughout Italy -- just a 10 minute drive from Assisi; 30 minutes from Perugia; one hour from Siena; two hour train or car ride from Florence and/or from Rome.
The town of Spello has an authenticity that has not yet been spoiled by tourism. It sits on the Southern slope of the imposing Mount Subasio. With a population of only 6,000 inhabitants, Spello has a rich history which dates back to Roman times. It’s an ideal place for foreigners to experience the charm of a small medieval Italian village and to live like a local, experience local festivals and roam the antique / outdoor markets. It’s equally well-suited as a home base for daytrips or weekend excursions to many of Italy’s most popular tourist destinations (such as Rome, Florence, Siena, Lago Trasimeno to name just a few).
Within walking distance to public transportation (including a train station which connects to Florence, Rome, and beyond), local bakery, grocery stores, cappuccino bars, restaurants, post office, and churches. Tours of Roman ruins, cooking classes, horse back riding and spa visits can easily be arranged through a local travel agent in Spello.
ACCOMMODATION:
Large, vaulted 3 bedroom, 2 bath split-level unit sleeps 4-6.
It can be opened up to the 1 bedroom / 1-1/2 bath unit next to it (Unit #1, the "Augustus"), to allow a maximum of 10 people.
Lower level:
The great room, with arched stonework, has a couch which can sleep 1 or 2. There is a bedroom next to the living room, which has a double bed that can be converted to 2 single beds (as needed) and a closet.
Upper level:
Has a large "eat in" kitchen, fully equipped. There is a laundry room with washer and dryer, and ironing board as well.
The master bedroom has a wrought iron bed and large armoire, and a wonderful view.
The second upstairs bedroom is smaller, with 2 single beds and a night stand, and also has panoramic views.
The original stonework has also been incorporated into the second bathroom, with modern fixtures and shower.
There is street access to the garden.
